You mentioned putting gardens in storage before maintenance. Im curious as to why?

Because the game being down for so long means it can be tricky to get them watered on time, especially if you have to go to work, etc. Putting your gardens in storage means plants won’t continue to grow, but anything planted in them will be put completely in stasis while they’re in storage and won’t die, either.

Signal boosting. Anyone RP a Warrior?

Balmung RPer returning to activity seeking WAR (And to expand RP circle)

I put something like this up a while back, but figured, as I’m popping up a new search on the RPC, maybe this time it’ll hit the right eyes over here too.

Have an IC summary first:

Tali Meredvai, Vieraxtraoridinaire has, as she might explain to folks, a bit of an occasional temper problem when situations explode and things become heated.  99% of the time she’s a fine, upstanding member of a society she’s still wrapping her head around during her excursions into Limsa Lominsa.  Having been very kindly taken into the employ of Metaphysick along with a fellow Vieraxile, she’s encountered people who are familiar with this condition, witnessed after a lapse in self-control.

Following on from a conversation after this lapse of which she has no memory, she’s now aware of the concept of an inner beast, and a group who now exist in a somewhat large concentration in the nearby city of Limsa Limsa, calling themselves Warriors.  Given that no-one else she has met has been able to help with this little occasional temper trouble, she’s identified these Warriors as being her best chance of making sense of what she can possibly do, and help her solidify a place in Eorzea.

Which leads nicely on to the OOC situation.

After an extended period of (relative) IC inactivity, I’ve been gradually getting back into the swing of things again, and have been, on and off, over the past few months, keeping an eye out for someone who might be able to take Tali under their axe*-swinging wing.  No joy.  Some kind folk have offered up alts to lend an occasional hand if nothing else cropped up, but I’ve bene loathe to do this due to a desire to introduce/interject Tali into more situations than might normally crop up by staying with my comfort zone of the FC.  And fail to crop up any opportunity did.  Which aided in the slip into RP inactivity.  And so the tale of Tali, potential extWARdinaire nearly came to an end.

But FFXIV is a beautiful thing, and I can’t quit it no matter how long passes, and so this call is going out.  I’m a UK-based RPer active primarily on weekday evenings and weekends, and I need YOU**.

In return, I can offer some average-quality RP from someone who used to be very active and wants to be so again, some truly awful puns, dad-worthy jokes, and hopefully a character that grows on you ICly and could someday be considered a friend.

(Mostly puns though.  I make no apologies.)

* It doesn’t have to be an axe they swing.

RP Hooks ––– –

Crime Syndicate: Khal is a known “messenger” and enforcer for a crime syndicate based out of Kugane. He is often sent to other cities outside of Kugane due to the authorities starting to catch on to him. You’re plenty welcome to know who he is. Don’t expect him to just outright state it in public, however.

Olkund Raised: While Khal is a Borlaaq the tribe casts out all of the males at one year old. Khal was lucky enough to have been found by a passing group of Olkund Au Ra. He was raised by them until he was twenty-two.

Ul'dah Bound: Khal can often be seen within the Quicksand. Every once in awhile a package is dropped off which he promptly hands off to another person nearby. It’s not distinctly discreet. It’s rather noticeable and you’re welcome to come up to Khal and confront him about it. Again. Don’t expect him to outright admit to it.

Kugane Street Fights/Underground Fighting: Khal got this start in the darker side of Kugane by being a bare-knuckle boxer. He did such things for ten years before becoming an enforcer for the syndicate he works for. He gathered quite the notoriety in the underground for it. It’s entirely possible your character knows of Khal for it.

YCH Commission Time

Yep, commission time.  I’ve been wanting to do these again for a while now that I’ve gotten the hang of drawing on my old iPad, but I wanted to wait until a better time.  Between the pandemic and the protests, I could not justify asking for help.

Unfortunately, that was before my wife ended up in the hospital for three days and my cat Calypso was diagnosed as having a tumor that urgently needs surgery at risk of losing her foot.  SO.  Here we are.

We’ll be able to handle the hospital bill thankfully due to insurance, but Calypso’s vet bill is the big one.  Surgery is no small matter, and given that this is a tumor, our budget is going to need padding if she needs more treatment later.  (I’m still waiting on an estimate from the surgeon, which is why I haven’t started a fundraiser).

THE OPTIONS:

SOLO - $45 COUPLE - $60 PRIDE MUG - $30; PRIDE SWEATER - $40; PRIDE FLAG - $50

THE EXPECTATIONS:

- All of these will be clean lineart, with the exception of the Pride options; Pride options will be in cel-shaded greyscale, with the chosen item colored in a pride flag of your choice.

- I may open color options later, I just need to better learn the program before I can comfortably offer anything of the quality I prefer, and this is a bit of an emergency.

- All body shapes and heights are available!  These are guides, not bases.  I will do my best to accommodate major height and body shape differences (though it may result in characters standing on boxes–I’ll try to be creative about it)

- Due to these being guides, I will allow for simple changes to the poses.  Expressions will be based on request or what I can glean from the character’s personality

THE RULES:

- Due to the nature of the situation, payment is due up front.  However, I am willing to provide a rough sketch before I start the inking process–it is at this point that I will allow for the option of a refund if the sketch is not to your liking

- I will not draw nudity, and I will not accept changes that could make the image more suggestive

- I have the right to refuse a commission if I am uncomfortable with it

- Humanoid characters preferred, but I will do my best to draw anthro characters

- Prices are subject to change based on complexity.  Horns and scales, will be case-by-case

- Image references please!  I’ve got aphantasia, so having the visuals helps for accuracy

- OCs are preferred, but I’m open to drawing canon characters too

- Final product is for the commissioner’s personal use
