Guila and Howzer stood in front of Diane and Zeal, swords drawn and ready to defend them. Dreyfus, Helbram, Jericho, and Gilthunder stared back, swords drawn as well.

"Platinum-ranked Holy Knight," Guila started, not taking her eyes off the opponents in front of her. "What are our odds of winning this hopeless struggle? With our magical powers, those two behind us could get caught in our wake."

"And that's not all," Howzer said. "We're up against a grand master, a cardinal, and a Diamond-ranked Holy Knight, the next highest. Our odds of winning are zero."

Dreyfus suddenly launched forward at them, Howzer already anticipating it.

"Not by a long shot," he yelled, bringing his sword up. A huge tornado shot up into the sky and brought up the four Holy Knights. "Rising Tornado! A highly-condensed tornado whose range is focused to do the utmost!"

Howzer turned to Guila, sword still raised in the air. "Guila! Pour every last drop of your magical powers into my tornado!"

"Stop it, Guila," Jericho yelled. "I'm your comrade, dammit!"

Guila winced. "Forgive me, Jericho. But I have no other option! Shot Bomb!" She shot her fire balls into the tornado, causing the flames to quickly rise to the top of it. "Combined Skill, Bomb Cyclone!"

"Keep firing until our magical powers are depleted," Howzer shouted. They both yelled as they did their best to keep their magic as strong as they could.

At the same time, a certain pink-haired Sin saw the flaming tornado and was running towards it. "That's a tremendous outpouring of magical power," Gother said, calmly. "But it's not Diane.

Meanwhile in the dungeons below the kingdom, Elizabeth and Hawk were listening to the noise from above.

"Seems like something just got started," Hawk said, nervously. "Elizabeth, looks like this is the underground pigpen! Let's head above ground!"

"Pigpen?" Elizabeth repeated.

"I mean dungeon!"

Elizabeth stared down at Hawk for a moment until her eyes suddenly widened as if she had just remembered something.

"Father! Big Sister Margaret! Where are you?" Elizabeth cried, now walking down the dark halls of a different part of the dungeon. "Father!"

"Hey, pipe down," Hawk whisper-yelled. "If you shout too loud, the guard will come!"

"Is that you, Elizabeth?" A voice asked from inside the cell that the two were standing next to.

"Elizabeth," the voice called again. "Is it you?"

"Big Sister Margaret?" Elizabeth gasped, walking to the cell door.

Going back to what was going on above ground, Howzer and Guila were struggling to keep their flaming tornado up.

"Don't burn out, Guila," Howzer yelled.

"Don't you either," she shouted back.

"How long do you to plan to keep that up?" A voice asked from behind. Guila froze in shock as Gilthunder brought his sword down on her. Howzer reacted fast and quickly blocked his sword from hitting Guila.

"I knew it," Howzer said, voice strained. "You're the guy we couldn't keep in check." He looked out of the corner of his eye to see that the tornado had stopped due to him losing his concentration.

Jericho fell to the ground, clothes nearly burnt off and gasping for air. Much to Guila and Howzer's dismay, Helbram stood nearly unscathed.

"For a jerry-built combo, you guys came real close," Helbram exclaimed. "But it's just a stopgap, after all."

"This is all the damage I can cause at full magical power?" Guila said, shocked. She gasped when a figure walked out of the smoke. Dreyfus came out as if he wasn't in there at all. His purple eyes glared into Guila's.

"I can't believe he came out completely unscathed," she whispered.

"Silken Skewer," Dreyfus yelled, pointing his sword at Guila. She gasped as a white beam of power was blasted at her-

It never hit her.

Howzer and Helbram gasped as they saw who had saved her.

"Who do you think?" Gowther asked, standing on the roof of a building with Guila in his arms.

After talking about their sister and shedding some tears, Elizabeth spoke up.

"Big Sister Margaret, we'll talk later. Let's escape this place together," she said, looking at her sister through the hole of her cell door.

"Are you sisters discussing a prison break?" A familiar voice said behind them.

Elizabeth turned around, surprised. 'Oh no-! She's the one who took me and Y/N!'

"You look so innocent," the mage said. "But just what method did you use to break out?"

"Let my sister out of there right now," Elizabeth shouted, clearly angry that the woman had messed with another person she cared for:

"You're totally mistaken about that,” she said.”Lady Margaret went into that cell of her own volition.”

“Do you really think I’d believe such a lie?” Elizabeth yelled.

The mage shrugged. “If you don’t, fine by me. Now, then, Lady Elizabeth,” The mage stepped towards Elizabeth, making her step back nervously. “Let me take you somewhere safer than this-” She let out a grunt as she was pushed back into the wall. “Who’s that?!”

“Ultra Knockout Blow - Forget Meal!” Hawk said, stomping his foot. “Completely concealing my presence, I attack my target’s blind spot with this forbidden technique! Anyway, you’ve been totally ignoring me all this time! I’ll be the one to take you on first!”

“Hawk,” Elizabeth exclaimed.

“A talking... pig?” the mage said, shakily getting up. “A pig?!” Hawk gasped as the ground beneath him started to glow.

“Out of my sight,” the mage yelled, making Hawk disappear in a pillar of light. The light slammed Elizabeth into the wall behind her, knocking her unconscious.

Hawk looked around, now in a dark and seemingly empty place. “Elizabeth? Where are you? Elizabeth! I’m right here, okay?”

Little did he know, there was a large trumpet behind him. The trumpet that Ban wanted to find.

Where Greed Goes, Despair Follows: Chp. 40

'Everything happened so fast. How did this happen?' Diane thought, staring up at the sky. She breathed weakly, blood and bruises all over her. She struggled to keep her eyes from unfocusing.

The Holy Knights was more dangerous than she thought. Diane was in no condition to fight anymore. Not after all of that.

Dreyfus took out a blue spell bead from his armor and held it in front of his mouth. "I am Grand Master Dreyfus."

The people of Liones all looked up at the sky in surprise. The spell bead made it so that Dreyfus' voice was heard throughout the entire kingdom.

"People of Liones, listen to me. At this time, Liones has been infiltrated by the traitors, the Seven Deadly Sins. They have commenced ransacking the kingdom!

"Damn him," Ban muttered, running alongside Meliodas as they tried to get to the castle undetected.

"The Seven Deadly Sins?!" A villager exclaimed. He turned to look at Diane, who was sprawled on the ruins of buildings. "Then that means this giant—!"

"That's right, it's got to be," another villager said. "It's Diane the Serpent Sin!"

Diane squeezed her eyes shut to keep herself from crying as she slowly tried to sit up.

"The Holy War of ancient legend is finally about to begin," Dreyfus said. "But fear not! Liones has its Holy Knights as well as myself! All those able to fight, take up your arms and make a stand!"

Diane finally was able to stand up, leaning on Gideon. The villagers started throwing rocks at her, making her slowly turn around.

"Stop it," she said weakly. "Please... I... I'm not your enemy!"

"Shut up," a man yelled, looking up at her. "Look what you did to our city!"

Diane clenched her jaw and started to limp away.

"Hey, she's getting away! Go after her!"

An explosion went off at her right, causing her to cry out and stumble.

"The giant's started attacking," a man yelled, making the other villagers start to run away.

"You're wrong," Diane weekly protested. "It's not me..."

"What am I doing in a place like this?" Diane mumbled, looking down at the ground. "Humans... The humans' country... What do I care? I've always been alone anyway. And I'll continue to be..."

Diane kept limping forward, blood dripping from her forehead and lips. Guila was running not too far behind, looking for her brother.

She suddenly knelt down, breathing deeply. "No... I made a promise! With Elizabeth and Y/N! I have to help them!" She pushed forward, trying her best to not lose balance or to cry out in pain.

"Diane," Guila exclaimed, seeing the Serpent Sin try her best to keep moving forward. Guila gasped as another explosion went off not too far away. "What was that attack?!"

"The giant, destroying the village as she roams the city. What a stunning visual," a voice said behind her. Guila's eyes widened and she turned around to see the familiar green-haired Holy Knight, Helbram.

"Wait, aren't you the one doing all the destroying, Sir Helbram?" Jericho sweat-dropped, looking up at the Holy Knight.

"Under these circumstances, no matter what I do, the blame will fall on no one but Diane," Helbram said. "It's called staging! Staging!"

"What on earth are you doing?!" Guila yelled, grabbing him by his collar.

"I just told you," Helbram said. "Now that we have a villain, it won't do for her to not wreak havoc. To establish knights as the embodiment of justice, villains are a must. Consummate villains like the Seven Deadly Sins, at that!

"Then what about the reports on the Seven Deadly Sins plotting to take over the kingdom?!" Guila demanded. "Are those lies as well?!"

"Guila, who cares about any of that?" Jericho asked. "Forget that, and let's go after Diane's head together! If we do that—"

"Jericho," Guila cut in. "What did you drink the demon's blood for?"

"Huh?" Jericho said, brows furrowing in confusion.

"Sister," a voice exclaimed, making both Jericho and Guila turn to look at the source.

Guila's little brother, Zeal, was running towards them.

"Sister Guila?!" Zeal cried, running towards them.

"Stay away from here," Guila yelled, eyes widening.

Zeal suddenly froze when he saw Diane not too far away from where he was. "A-A giant?"

Just above him, a building was threatening to fall on him. Zeal looked up, his eyes widening in fear.

"Zeal," Guila screamed, heart dropping as the building began to fall.

Diane suddenly threw herself forward, shielding the boy and the building falling down on her instead. She clenched her jaw, suppressing the urge to scream.

Zeal looked up at Diane's bruised and bloody face. His brown eyes met with her purple ones. "Did you save me?"

"I'm sorry," she mumbled, thinking of you and Elizabeth. "I couldn't do anything for you..." She closed her eyes.

"Looks like it's all over now," Dreyfus said, walking towards the scene. Howzer and Gilthunder walked alongside him.

"Grand Master Dreyfus," Jericho exclaimed. She ran to him. "Please, could you entrust me, Jericho, with the task of taking Diane's head?"

"Very well," he said.

"And when I do," she continued. "Promote me to an upper-level—" Shs suddenly turned her head when she saw Howzer continuing to walk forward.

"What do you think you're doing, Howzer?" Dreyfus said, looking at the blonde man.

"Years ago, you told me this, remember?" He said, turning to look at Dreyfus. "'Only use your own power when you yourself feel it's right.' Well, now is that time!"

"You're going to take us all on by yourself?" Dreyfus asked, glaring at him.

"No," Guila said, standing at Howzer's side. "The two of us will."

Diane's eyes slowly opened at what she had just heard. 'Howzer...? Guila?'

Your eyes stared up at the ceiling of the cavern. Your chest rose and fell with every shallow breath you took. The symbols on your forehead and hands were back to their black color. Your clothes were torn but still able to cover you. How long have you been looking up without seeing?

You weakly turned your head to the side to see that the chains that had bound your body to the stone table were now gone. Despite that, you felt too weak to move. It was as if you had woken up from an incredibly long sleep.

You flexed your fingers and looked down to see that your nails were now pointed at the ends. You touched the symbol that was on the back of your hand. It felt just like regular skin.

You brought your hands up to your face and felt dried tear stains on your cheeks. You blinked and sighed in annoyance at the familiar sensation of your eyes being in pain. It felt as if tiny, cold needles were on your eyelids and poked your eyes every time you blinked.

You slowly sat up, your hands weakly holding the sides of the table to help support you. You gently rolled your shoulders as your bare feet touched the cold ground.

You yelped as you suddenly fell to your knees, hands holding your head. You let out a strangled gasp of pain as the memory of a turquoise-eyed man had surfaced in your mind, your screams of agony faintly heard in the background.

You slowly looked up, breathing calmly. Your eyes slightly widened as you heard an explosion in the distance. The ground of the cavern shook. A surge of aura had gone off in the distance at the same time the explosion occurred. You narrowed your eyes, the glint in them being cold and angered.

You vanished from the cavern in a burst of black and purple flames.

Happy New Year!! I can't believe this is my last post of this year. This year has been so long and has been very hard for so many people. Many people experienced losses with COVID or from other things like trafficking or police brutality. My heart goes out to everyone who has experienced pain this year. Hopefully next year will be a better one.

I want to thank everyone who has read and shared and enjoyed this story! Again, I never expected so many people to find and enjoy this story. I'm proud to know that my writings are enjoyed by all of you. Thank you all for supporting and motivating me and being patient with me. I appreciate all of you!! Where Greed Goes, Despair Follows: Chp. 39

"What is that?!" Ban said, a blast going off in the city. He ran with Meliodas and Gowther behind the broken houses and buildings. He wiped what remained of his tears that fell during your power surge.

"Judging by the sound and vibration, it's 0.5 miles away," Gowther said. "Between the South Gate and the palace gate."

"Come to think of it, we could sense someone with mad magical powers just now, huh?" Ban said, scowling.

"Right now, it's Hendrickson that I can sense, just barely," Gowther replied. "That's the magical power of a man who bore the title 'Platinum' ten years ago."

"That's it," Meliodas exclaimed. "Let's go!"

"Huh? We're not heading for the castle?!" Ban said. "What about Y/N?! She could be in there and we don't know what they're doing to her!"

"If we're going to rescue Elizabeth and Y/N, taking them all out would be the fastest," Meliodas said, running towards the blast. "We have to believe that Y/N will stay strong until we can find her. Until then, we have to take these guys out first so that we won't have problems when finding them!"

"Looks like we should follow him," Gowther said, watching Meliodas run farther into the city. Ban turned to look at the castle with a frustrated, worried expression, before shaking his head and following Meliodas, Gowther following closely behind.

Meanwhile, Diane, King, and Hawk's mom were walking peacefully, taking their time to Liones. Hawk's mom huffed, making King turn to her and pout.

"I know, I know," he said, pouting at her.

"Hey," Diane said, making King turn to face her.

"Huh? Yeah, what?" King asked.

"Have you ever seen that look on the captain's face before?" Diane asked. "And Ban. He looked like he had seen a ghost."

"Nope," King replied, shaking his head. "It took me by surprise too. I don't think I've ever seen the two of them get so worked up before. But..." King looked down. "I can't take my mind off of what Ban said to me."

Diane turned to King. "What did he say?"

"He said that he already lost Elaine and that he wouldn't lose Y/N too," King said. "I know the two of them are close, but... I wasn't expecting him to say that."

Diane's eyes widened. "Really? Ban said that?"

"Yeah," King said, nodding.

Diane giggled. "Wait till we tell Y/N. I bet she'll be so happy." King let out a laugh at the thought of you being so flustered.

Diane grew silent, looking down at the ground. "King... If it was me instead of Elizabeth who got abducted, do you think the captain would've gotten that worked up for me?"

"Diane," King whispered, his heart hurting at the sight of Diane looking so down. His eyes widened. "O-Of course he would! No question about it! You're a precious comrade of his!"

Diane smiled and looked up at King. "Right! The captain's really kind-hearted!" She hid her face with her hair. "But he probably wouldn't get that look on his face for me..."

King huffed, pink dusting his cheeks. "Well, I would! I'd totally get all worked up! Even if I were by myself, I'd go to your rescue!"

Diane stared at King, a faint blush on her cheeks. "King... are you consoling me?"

King's eyes widened. "That's not it, I'm just... Uh..." Hawk's mom suddenly huffed, making King slightly lose his balance in the air. "Woah—! Y-Yeah, you're right. We'd better get going, too." Diane laughed.

"I'm worried about Y/N though," Diane said, furrowing her brows. "She wasn't doing so well after we left Vaizal. She's been acting more scared even though she tries covering it up by acting happy." King nodded.

"King," Diane said, making him turn to her. Her purple eyes had tears in them. "What if they're doing something to Y/N?"

King's face grew visably worried. "That's why we're on our way to save her. Ban's probably looking for her as we speak."

"Yeah, but what if something's happened to Ban too?" Diane said, distressed. "Y/N's our best friend! We should be there—"

"Diane," King said, cutting her off. "Y/N is strong. We have to believe in her. Ban and the captain and Gowther are there too. They won't let anything happen to Elizabeth and Y/N, I promise." Diane sniffled and nodded, making King smile softly at her.

King's eyes widened, suddenly remembering something. "Oh, wait! I almost forgot!" He suddenly let out a piercing whistle.

As soon as he did that, a portal opened up in the sky and a floating green dog popped out.

"Oslo," King called, smiling.

"A-A dog?" Diane said.

"A Black Hound," King said, smiling at Oslo. "He's a type of fairy who lives in between the human world and the fairy world, and he's an old friend of mine." Oslo opened his mouth to reveal a portal inside.

"He's got this mysterious power that lets him teleport whatever he swallows to another place," King said.

Diane's face lightened up. "You mean he can send us to Liones right away?"

"Right on the money," King exclaimed, grinning.

Diane smiled. "But if he's your friend, why didn't you introduce us sooner? The captain wouldn't get mad, you know! Not like one more pet is going to make any..."

"He adores pork," King said, sweat dropping.

Diane smiled, also sweat dropping. "I see."

King turned to Oslo, smiling. "I'm counting on you, Oslo!"

Oslo suddenly grew almost the size-maybe even the size of!-Hawk's mom and stuffed Diane into his mouth. Except... her bottom half was still sticking out.

"Am I really in Liones?" Diane said, her top half now in a dark cave. "It's so dark, I can't tell."

From the other side, Diane's voice was muffled. "My butt's stuck, and I can't get out," she cried. "King! Please! Give me a shove!"

King stared at Diane, his face bright red. "You... You want me to...?"

"Hurry," Diane yelled.

"No way," King whispered to himself, blood beginning to drip from the poor fairy’s nose. "I need to prepare mentally for that!

Where Greed Goes, Despair Follows: Chp. 38

Pairing: Ban & Y/N

Anime: Seven Deadly Sins

Genre: Adventure, Romance

Warnings: ⚠️Syringes, injections, slight torture? idk if it can be called that, but there's a bit of screaming⚠️

You let out a gasp, your e/c eyes flashing open. You breathed heavily, staring up at what seemed to be the top of a dark cave. Panic and adrenaline rushed through you as you remembered what had just happened.

"Elizabeth?" you yelled. You tried to get up but couldn’t. You looked down to see that you were tightly chained down onto some sort of stone table. "Elizabeth?!"

"She isn't here," a voice said.

You turned to the voice to see a man with cold, turquoise eyes and hair the color of periwinkle. You scowled as you saw that he was wearing armor. "Who are you? What did you do with Princess Elizabeth?"

"Shouldn't you be more concerned about yourself right now?" The man asked, walking to you.

You scoffed in disgust. "Answer me!"

"She is being detained elsewhere," the man said. His cold eyes scanned over you. "So, this is what the famous Raven Sin looks like."

"What do you think you're doing?" you said, glaring harshly.

"It appears you are physically unscathed despite what you went through during your last encounter with Jericho," the man said nonchantly.

Your eyes widened and cold dread washed over you. "What?"

The man tilted his head, his eyes boring into yours. "That means that my hypothesis was correct."

"Hypothesis?" you repeated. "What hypothesis?"

"You really don't know then, do you?" the man said. You stared up at him impatiently. He shook his head. "I've been studying records of the Demon race for quite some time now. The different types, their blood, their statuses. However, I happened to stumble upon something incredibly interesting."

The man looked back at you, a glint in his eyes that made you feel uneasy. "A scroll that mentioned of a human who had demon blood in them. A person who could possess power as great as the Demon King himself. Someone who the Demon King could channel himself into and use as his way to see and live in our world."

Your breathing grew uneven as emotions swirled within you. "You... You think that that person is me?"

The man smirked. "Haven't you wondered why you're still alive despite Jericho stabbing you with her sword being covered in that substance?"

You stared at him, shocked and confused. "I..."

"What about your abilities?" The man continued. "No normal human being is able to summon stalagmites from the ground. No normal human being is able to trap someone's consciousness in their own mind. No normal human being's eyes glow red when they are enraged. Have you really never considered that you might be more than what you've been told?"

The man walked over to a small table and picked up a syringe. You could barely breathe when you realized what it was. It was filled with the same black substance that was on Jericho's sword when she stabbed you.

The man walked up to you, holding the syringe up in his hand. "This is a syringe containing the Demon King's blood." Your eyes widened. "Jericho's sword was covered with the blood of a different demon but after long and desperate searches, I finally found this."

You stared at it, frozen in fear. "No. How did you even get that? How did I never know about this? I was raised by a human family, I—"

"All memory of what you are has been erased since the beginning," the man said. "You were never supposed to know until you had the Demon King's blood flowing in you." He positioned the syringe on the left side of your neck.

"W-Wait—! No!" you screamed, tears forming in your eyes.

The man looked down at you, his cold, turquoise eyes being the last things you saw. "You'll feel better when it's over."

He pressed the syringe into your neck and began injecting the blood. You let out a cry of pain as your e/c eyes began glowing a bright purple, the two symbols reappearing on the backs of your hands. A new symbol was now glowing on your forehead as well. The man continued to inject the blood into your neck as your terrified and agonized screams echoed in the cave.

"Don't let Meliodas use Full Counter," a Holy Knight yelled, charging towards Meliodas with an axe. "Use your weapons to stop them directly!" He swung his axe at Meliodas, Meliodas deflecting every hit with his sword. He quickly punched the Holy Knight, sending him flying away.

Another Holy Knight tried sneaking up on Meliodas, only for him to be punched down by Ban.

"Don't think you can beat us without using magical power, dumbass," Ban said, glaring down at the Holy Knight. "Well, it'd be futile even if you did." (gODDAMN HIS VOICE IN THE SUB WAS SO HOT WHEN HE SAID THAT JFC. OKAY I’LL LET YOU GET BACK TO THE STORY LMFAO)

Ban raised his hands up, looking at the group of Holy Knights charging at him and Meliodas. "Geez, they just keep coming!"

"So we're gonna have to wipe them all out after all?" Meliodas said.

"Let's be efficient about this," Gowther suddenly cut in, walking between the two. He raised his hands up, summoning his Sacred Treasure. "Sacred Treasure, Double Bow Harlit!"

"Sacred Treasure?" Meliodas exclaimed, eyes widening.

"Where the hell was he hiding that," Ban asked, staring at Gowther in confusion.

"Rewrite Light," Gowther said, shooting arrows of light through all the Holy Knights. The arrows all passed through each of them without causing them to die or bleed.

"Hey, Gowther," Ban said, looking at him. "The effect is like zero!"

Suddenly, the Hoky Knights all dropped their weapons and began running towards them.

"Meliodas, my son," a Holy Knight yelled.

"Ban, my bro! I really missed you, man!" another Holy Knight said.

"Huh?" Ban and Meliodas said, surprised.

"Gowther, what is this?" Meliodas asked, blinking in confusion as he was hugged by a Holy Knight. Ban was being carried up by a group of Holy Knights, trying to process what was going on. Gowther was being held close and patted on the head by another Holy Knight.

"Right now, the Holy Knights see us as their dead family members, friends, or lovers whom they haven't seen in some time," Gowther said, pushing his glasses up.

"Did you rewrite their memories?" Meliodas asked.

"Shh," Gowther said, turning to face him. "It's merely a simple stopgap. Once they notice the inconsistencies in their memories, they'll go back to normal. Moreover, their memory of being under this spell will be deleted."

"Don't you ever use that on us!" Ban and Meliodas yelled, appearing in front of Gowther.

"Roger that," Gowther replied, looking at them blankly.

The three of them managed to get away from the crowd and go deeper into the city.

"All right," Meliodas said, now hiding behind what appears to be what was once the wall of a building with Gowther and Ban. "We managed to get into the capital, but what are we gonna do now?"

"We can't just recklessly start battling in the city," Gowther stated.

"Man, that's gonna be a drag in itself," Ban groaned. "Who knows where those bastards could be hiding Y/N?"

"With all these Holy Knights around, it's not gonna be easy to search for traces of Elizabeth or Y/N," Meliodas said.

"Hey, let's head to the castle," Ban said, grinning mischievously. "You know how in fairy tails, the princess is always locked up in an underground dungeon in the castle?"

"Don't you mean the top of a tower?" Gowther asked. "Also, do you mean to refer to Y/N as the princess?"

Ban let out a cough to hide his shock, cheeks starting to flush. "Shut it!"

"The castle, huh?" Meliodas murmured, staring up at the large castle of Liones. Suddenly, a wave of pure fear and pain washed over the kingdom, making Ban and Meliodas' eyes widen.

"What... is this," Ban gasped, tears forming in his eyes. "I... can't move..."

"It appears to be Y/N," Gowther said nonchantly. He brought a hand up to his face, touched it, then looked down at his hand. There were tears on his fingertips. "Fascinating."

Meliodas looked up at the two, tears also streaming from his eyes. "You don't think...?"

Ban's eyes widened in realization. "Something's happened to Y/N."

"DAMMIT," Meliodas screamed, rage blasting off him. Ban stared at the ground in shock, breathing heavily. He couldn't believe what had just happened.

Meliodas grabbed his sword that was leaning against the wall and ran out the door, Ban following behind him.

"What's going on," King yelled, turning to look at Gowther.

"Most likely, it's a mage," Gowther said. He and King began following Meliodas and Ban. "Instantly appearing in just the right spot and then vanishing. It's an advanced teleporting technique."

"Captain," Diane exclaimed, looking at a seething Meliodas.

"To the capital! I'm heading over right now to save Elizabeth and Y/N," Meliodas shouted, visably enraged.

"But it's more than forty miles from here," King said, hovering next to Diane.

"Diane," Meliodas yelled, turning to her.

Diane's eyes widened in realization. "Gotcha!" King turned to her, confused.

"Hold up," Ban said, anger smoldering in his eyes. He wrapped his arms around Meliodas and picked him up. "I changed my mind. I'm coming with you."

"Ban, this is no time to fool around," King said, floating above them.

"I'm not staying here while they have Y/N," Ban yelled, looking up at King. "I already lost Elaine. I won't lose Y/N too! Not to those bastards!" King's eyes widened at his response, the shock evident on his face.

Gowther stared at Ban and Meliodas before walking forward and wrapping his arms around Ban. "I'll go with you, too."

"You, too, Gowther?!" King yelled. "What are you doing?!"

"Y/N is my friend," Gowther replied, staring at King. "I would like to help save her. I'd also like to observe the captain and Ban since they are always fighting."

"Here goes," Diane said, holding the three guys in her hand. "Bear with me if I'm off a little."

"As long as it's in the right direction, no problem," Meliodas said.

Diane then winded her arm back, getting ready to throw them. She turned to look up at Meliodas, her purple eyes meeting his emerald ones. "Make sure you rescue Elizabeth and Y/N, all right?"

"Right," Meliodas said. Ban nodded, rage and determination on his face.

Diane then began running forward, holding Ban, Meliodas, and Gowther up high. She then let out a yell as she chucked the three of them forward, sending them flying towards Liones.

Elizabeth opened her eyes to see herself in what appeared to be a dungeon cell. "W-What? Where am I? I thought I was at the Boar Hat till now..." Her eyes widened when she realized that you were no longer standing next to her. "Y/N? Y/N?!"

"Welcome home," a voice said. "To Liones." Elizabeth shrieked, turning to see the same woman from earlier: the one with the metal mask and magenta gown.

"Was it you who brought me here?" Elizabeth said. "Where is Y/N?!" She stepped towards the woman, only for her to disappear. "Huh?!"

Elizabeth turned, looking at the dirty walls of the cell. "Is this really Liones?" Elizabeth then let out a shriek as she heard what sounded like the roars of a monster.

She stopped screaming when she saw that a certain pig was also screaming, the noise coming from him. "Wait... is that you, Hawk?!"

"Where the heck are we," Hawk yelled. "I'm telling you, I've had it! Let's go! Let's go, let's go!" Hawk then bolted towards the metal door at full speed. "Super Roast Illusion!"

Elizabeth braced herself, squeezing her eyes shut. When she opened them, she saw that the metal door had been knocked down by Hawk. She stared at it in confusion and surprise.

"Mission accomplished," Hawk said, suddenly reappearing in the doorway.

"Hawk, you're bleeding," Elizabeth exclaimed.

Hawk then turned when he heard the sound of a door opening at the end of the hall.

"What the hell was that sound," a guard yawned, opening the door.

"It's the lookout," Elizabeth whispered. "Hide—!"

"Rolling Ham Attack," Hawk yelled, launching himself at the guard. A second later, the guard was collapsed against the wall, a large bump on his head from where he was hit.

"All righty," Hawk said, pleased at his handiwork. "Let's go—wait... Where's Y/N?"

"T-They must have taken her," Elizabeth said, tears forming in her eyes. "She wasn't there with me earlier! We have to find her!"

"WHAT?!" Hawk yelled, eyes widening. "We gotta go find her!" He started trotting down the hall, Elizabeth following closely behind.

"What's up with that?" Ban said, giving Gowther a look.

"The greeting the captain was giving yesterday," Gowther said, groping Ban's right pec. You covered your mouth with your hand, unsure if you should laugh or slap Meliodas.

"I said that's not right," Hawk yelled at Gowther, making your shoulders shake from trying to not laugh.

"So where are we headed now?" Ban said, looking at Meliodas from the front of the bar.

"Do you have a head on our next comrade, by any chance?" King asked, resting his head and arms on the counter.

"Escanor and Merlin," Gowther said.

"No," Meliodas said, turning to the four of you. "First, I'm going to sneak into the capital and get my sword back!" Your eyes all widened.

"Sword?" Ban said. "You mean the dragon hilt that you lost..."

"I can't just let that go," Meliodas said. He grinned and banged his fists on the bar counter. "Guys, you'll come with me, won't you?"

"Sounds like a drag, so... I pass," Ban said, leaning back.

“Ban!” you exclaimed, lightly swatting his arm and making him stifle a laugh.

"Yeah, it was your own fault that you lost it," King chimed. You turned to look at him in disbelief, making him smile.

"Personal responsibility," Gowther said. You then turned to gawk at Gowther.

"You guys are so mean,” you said, hiding your smile behind your hand.

"Comfort me," Meliodas said, his head underneath Elizabeth's skirt as she sat on one of the wooden tables behind you.

You turned around, shocked at how he got there so quickly. "WHAT THE—"

"All right. There, there," Elizabeth said, lightly patting his head as her cheeks were flushed pink. You pinched the bridge of your nose.

"Captain," Diane yelled, her face breaking through the Boar Hat wall. You screamed at the sudden scare, making Ban laugh at you.

"Right," Meliodas said, now hammering wood around the hole that Diane created. You stifled a laugh, hiding your face behind your hand. "The Coffin of Eternal Darkness... That dragon hilt is a fragment of a ritual relic."

"That sword is..." Elizabeth said.

"Yeah," Meliodas said. "According to an ancient legend, it's one of the fragments of a relief created to seal away the Demon race when the Goddess, Giant, Fairy, and Human races joined forces long, long ago." Your eyes widened, surprised that those four races joined just to defeat the demons.

"But what are the Holy Knights planning to do by gathering such things?" Elizabeth asked.

"Most likely, the resurrection of the Demon race," Meliodas replied, voice sounding grim.

You winced, feeling a sharp pain go off in your head. Ban turned to you, concerned. "You okay?"

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine," you said, looking up at him. You have him a weak smile and placed your hand on top of his to reassure him. He stared at you for a second, his red eyes looking down at your hand on top of his. He let out a sigh, turning his head to look at Meliodas. You didn't miss the small smile that was now on his face.

"The Demon race again?" Ban said, scowling.

"Come to think of it, it was Hendrickson who turned Dale into that monster, wasn't it?" King said.

"Yes, no doubt about it," Gowther replied, looking at King.

"Hendrickson," Elizabeth repeated, looking down sadly. "To think the de facto leader of Liones, and Dreyfus, would go to such lengths..." She looked up. "But, why would he want to do something as terrible as resurrecting the Demon race?"

"What, does he want to be friends with them?" Hawk asked sarcastically. You brought your hand up to your mouth, trying to not laugh. It was a very serious topic, but Hawk and his sarcasm always made you laugh.

"Surely not," Elizabeth exclaimed, looking worriedly at Hawk.

"Then what's he after?" Hawk asked.

"A Holy War," Meliodas said gravely, making all of you stare at him in shock.

"Hey, hey," Diane said, looking through the tiny window of the Boar Hat. "So you mean they've already used that sword of yours to resurrect the Demons?"

"No, it's a pretty powerful seal, so if they do manage to break it, there's sure to be a sign," Meliodas said. Suddenly, a strange sound rang in the air of the Boat Hat, making you and everyone else flinch.

"It's a sign... I'm getting a sign," Hawk yelled, his stomach being the source of the sudden sound.

"Of a dump?!" Ban yelled, leaning back. You placed your head in your hands as your shoulders shook from your laughter.

"The seal's about to be broken," Hawk whimpered, slowly trotting forward.

You raised a brow as you looked at him. “How would you know that?”

"Hawk, are you alright?" Elizabeth asked worriedly. You shook your head, standing up and walking next to Elizabeth.

Hawk turned to Elizabeth. "Come to think of it... Why were those guys going after not just the sword, but you and Y/N, Elizabeth?"

Your e/c eyes widened, a cold shock running down your spine. "What?"

"Well, that's because..." a voice said, making you and Elizabeth turn around in shock. A woman who wore a silver mask and a magenta dress stood before you. "Princess Elizabeth is the last key to breaking the seal."

"Elizabeth! Y/N! Get away from that person!" Meliodas yelled, eyes wide.

Ban's eyes widened and he stood up, hands clenched in fists. "Y/N—!"

"Ban!" you yelled, reaching for him as the ground glowed beneath you, Elizabeth, the woman, and Hawk. Ban lunged for your hand, eyes wide, as Meliodas lunged for Elizabeth.

Your e/c eyes shining in panic was the last thing that Ban saw before you, Elizabeth, Hawk, and the woman vanished before his and the other Sin's eyes.

“Nice to meet you, Sir Gowther,” Elizabeth said, smiling at the pink-haired male. “I am Elizabeth, the third princess of Liones. Please, lend me your assistance in saving the kingdom from the Holy Knights.”

“No,” Gowther said.

““No”?!” Diane, Ban, King, and you screamed.

“You didn’t just meet me,” Gowther said. He walked up to Elizabeth, looking down at her. “We already met in Ordan. And also, you were acquainted with us as a child.”

Elizabeth’s eyes widened. “Eh?”

“Lucky, you got to see Gowther first,” you said, crossing your arms across your chest. Ban had you sleep while he, King, and Meliodas went to go find Gowther. You were slightly bummed that you weren’t able to help, but you were glad that you were finally able to get some rest. You cackled when Ban told you his reactions to Gowther’s unexpected appearance.

“Now that you mention it, she was always around the king,” Ban said, scratching the back of his head. “A little wisp of a kid.” You stifled a laugh as you lightly swatted Ban’s arm.

“I don’t remember that,” Diane said, laughing nervously.

King floated next to Gowther. “Addressing Her Highness like that - a bit rude, maybe?”

“I stand corrected - princess,” Gowther said.

“Um... Then... Have I met Sir Meliodas before, too, by any chance?” Elizabeth asked, a faint blush on her cheeks.

“Well, yeah,” Meliodas said, walking towards you.

“Sir Meliodas,” Elizabeth exclaimed.

“So anyway, Gowther,” Meliodas said. “What’s your answer?”

“I’ll agree to it,” Gowther replied. “It was the king who named me to the Seven Deadly Sins. If it’s a request from his daughter, I have no reason to decline. Also, knowing Y/N, she would probably be very disappointed if I did not go, so that’s another reason why I will stay.”

“Yay,” you said, wrapping your arms around Gowther’s waist, to which he responded by lightly patting your head.

“All right,” Meliodas said, smiling cheekily. “Now that there are six of us here, how about we drink to celebrate?”

Ban turned to Meliodas, a child-like grin on his face. “All right,” he yelled, throwing his arms up like an excited child, making you cackle.

"Cheers," Diane said, lifting her barrel of alcohol up.

"Ch-Cheers," King said, blushing slightly.

"I'm not gonna lose to you, Captain," Ban exclaimed, already sounding drunk.

"You're so gonna eat those words," Meliodas said, grinning at him.

You laughed at them, a smile on your face. "Ban! If you get wasted, I'm the one who has to pay the consequences, dammit!" The three of you laughed at your statement, Ban slamming his hand on the table.

Elizabeth gave Gowther a place of food. Suddenly, Gowther heard loud munching noises behind him. "Detecting bizarreness," Gowther said, turning around. He tilted his head as he saw Hawk eating away at his bowl of scraps.

"Hey, Gowther," Hawk said, mouth full of scraps. "I'm Sir Hawk, Captain of the Scraps Disposal! Hey, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me anything!"

Gowther stared at Hawk. "Why would a pig be speaking in the human tongue?" Gowther asked.

"No idea," Hawk said.

Gowther tilted his head. "Why are you eating scraps?"

"'Cause they're tasty," Hawk exclaimed.

"That's all," Gowther said, turning to look at his food.

"That's it already?!" Hawk said. "Isn't there anything else you wanna ask me?"

Gowther stared at the scene in front of him: Diane and Elizabeth laughing as King gazed fondly at Diane, Ban poking fun at you while you were yelling at him for drinking too much.

"'I'm so moved. I never thought I'd be reunited with the others.'" Meliodas threw his arm around Gowther's shoulders. "Isn't that about what you were thinking?" He said, smiling.

"None of us is from the same species," Gowther stated, looking at all of you.

"That's it?" Meliodas asked.

"It is," Gowther replied.

Meliodas laughed. "Now that you mention it, I guess you're right." The blonde smiled as he watched Diane and King laughed together, faint blushes on their cheeks, while you and Ban bickered, Ban's cheeks flushed from alcohol and yours from Ban's constant remarks and teasing. Meliodas looked and smiled as Elizabeth sat with Hawk contentedly, Hawk eating away at his scraps.

It feels good to be surrounded by friends.

It's a bit of a filler rip. I'm pretty busy so updates have obviously been less common, but I have no intention of giving up on this story!! I really enjoy this story and I'm glad that so many other people enjoy it as well. (I'm also a huge simp for this man LMAOOOO 😭) Love u all!! ❤️

Where Greed Goes, Despair Follows: Chp. 34

Y/N: Raven Sin of Despair

King sighed, staring up at the roof of his room. It had been a day since you all had left Vaizel and since you had been stuck in that pit of darkness.

You haven't been the same since. You flinched at loud noises or at quick movements. Your hands tended to shake at times when you held things. Not only that, but that night you woke up from nightmares, tears streaming from your eyes and screams ringing out through the Boar Hat. King and the other Sins were incredibly worried.

King's brows furrowed at the memory of what happened before you guys took off to the next village.

Ban dodged and ran as the flurry of daggers came flying towards him. With a grunt, he jumped up and kicked a dagger towards King, which he stopped right before it hit him.

"Are you screwing around, King?" Ban demanded. "Take this seriously! Attack like you're trying to kill me!"

"'Kill you,' huh?" King said, tilting his head. "Why?"

Ban's eyes narrowed. "I guess I wanna smash the Holy Knights and take back the kingdom as soon as possible."

He leaped and appeared behind King. King yelped as Ban threw his head down, barely being able to avoid crashing into the ground.

"'Take back the kingdom'?" King repeated, regaining his balance in the air. "I'm surprised to hear that out of your mouth. I thought you didn't care about anyone but yourself."

Ban turned to King, raising an eyebrow. "Ain't it the same for you?"

"I suppose," King said, summoning Chastiefol as a pillow and laying on it. "But I have my own special objective of helping Diane."

"I have one of those too," Ban said. King looked at him, surprised.

"We'll save the kingdom, and I'll take the Trumpet of Cernunnos that's hidden underneath as my reward," Ban said, fists clenched.

"The Trumpet of Cernunnos?" King asked in disbelief. "That's a ritual device used to commune with the Goddesses! What could you possibly want with that?" King's eyes widened in realization. "Wait, are you—"

"Yes," Ban nodded. "I'm gonna have them bring back Elaine!"

"Ban," King gasped. He then raised an eyebrow at Ban. "What about Y/N?"

Ban's eyes widened. He looked away from King, eyes conflicted. "I..." He shook his head and looked up at King. "I need to bring her back, King! I can't leave her like this. Not after all that she's done for me!"

King sighed and looked at Ban. His eyes widened when he saw how much pain he was trying to hide. King's eyes softened. "You're worried about them, aren't you? The Captain and Y/N?" Ban's breath hitched in his throat.

"I thought so," King said, floating closer down to the ground. "Deep down, I'm a mess too. They way they looked... It was like—"

"One more word, I dare you," Ban suddenly yelled, grabbing King by the collar. "I'll knock all your teeth out!"

"B-But surely you can see it too," King said, startled.

"Like hell!" Ban yelled. "Y/N and the Captain are nothing like those monsters! I'll never believe it!" Ban's eyes were filled with rage and fear at the memory of the demon that flashed in his mind.

King's eyes widened when Ban let go of him and gently pushed him away. "Ban..."

"The Captain said to follow him," Ban said, glaring down at the ground. "He said it to a crappy man who lived a crappy life since the day he was born and was shunned wherever he went!

"And Y/N... She accepted me for who I was. She didn't care who I was raised by or what my past was! She saw me as an equal and fought by my side. She put up with me all these years and trusted me enough to tell me about her problems! She killed and risked her life just to get me out of that stupid prison that I got myself into!" King's eyes widened at what Ban had said about you.

Ban took a shaky breath, refusing to look at King. "The only three easy-going weirdos like that are Elaine, the Captain, and Y/N."

King shook his head, sighing.

'Y̵̪̲̜̟͇͐̎̈̓̆̏͛/̸̜̻̘͚͉͙̳̣̆̉̌̓͑͜N̸̟̳͙̙̭̔̓̾̒͊̾̀'

"AH!" You bolted upwards, breathing heavily. Your stared at the bedsheets as you tried to catch your breath, chills still running up your spine. You rubbed your forehead and sighed.

"Still can't manage to fall asleep, huh?"

You turned to look at Ban, who was sitting up and looking at you.

"Yeah," you sighed, annoyed. "I can't even manage to take a nap without these nightmares."

"That might be a problem," Ban said. "We're already almost to the next village according to the Captain. You need as much rest as you can get."

"Kind of hard to do when I can barely stay unconscious for two minutes before waking up screaming," you laughed, rolling your eyes.

Ban chuckled for a moment, then looked at you with a serious expression. "Y/N. Are you okay? Like... are you really okay or are you just pretending to be okay?"

You blinked, surprised. Your eyes softened at the thought of Ban worrying about you. "Yeah, I'm better. I try to joke about it so that it's not as scary as it seems, you know?"

You looked down, furrowing your brows. "I can barely even remember what happened, but at the same time I remember everything."

Ban nodded. "Well, if you aren't feeling okay, just tell me. You don't have to lie or pretend to me. I trust you and you trust me, remember?"

You laughed, your heart fluttering at the fact that he remembered what you told him a few years back. "Yeah, I remember."

"Good," Ban said, a small smile on his face.

You smiled back and looked back at the ground. 'I really am lucky to have someone like you in my life.'

You turned to Ban, not meeting his eyes. "Ban, could you... hold me again?" Your cheeks flushed red at the memory of when he held you that night when you broke him out of Baste Prison.

You shook your head. "I-I mean, I feel like it would make me feel safer and maybe that could help me sleep—! You don't have to if you're uncomfortable—"

"Just get over here already," Ban said, laughing. You glared at him, blushing.

You laid down on your right side and wrapped your left arm around his chest. He put his left arm under your head and his right arm around your waist. Your legs were wrapped around each other's.

"Captain said we'll be arriving around noon," Ban said. "Until then, get some rest."

You laughed. "Yeah, I'll try." You breathed deeply, taking in Ban's warmth that contrasted the cold blankets.

"Goodnight, Y/N," Ban said, looking at you with his glinting red eyes.

You smiled, finally feeling safe in Ban's arms. "Goodnight, Ban."

Where Greed Goes, Despair Follows: Chp. 33

Y/N: Raven Sin of Despair

"Y/N"

"Y/N!"

Your eyes flashed open and you bolted upward, breathing heavily. Ban was kneeling in front of you, holding your shoulders. Meliodas, King, Elizabeth, and Diane looked at you from behind him.

You let out a whimper and quickly latched onto Ban, hiding your face in his chest.

Ban's jacket was slightly ripped, but he didn't show any signs of being injured. Both Diane and King had a few scratches here and there, King having dried blood on his jacket. Meliodas was shirtless and had scratches and dirt on him.

"You're here," you said, voice cracking. "You're really here." You closed your eyes, tears falling out of them.

"I'm here," Ban said, hugging you back. "You're okay."

"W-What happened," you said, shakily.

"They escaped," Ban said. "Barely."

You looked up at him, frantic. "How long have I been here?"

"Y/N, you've been here this whole time," King said. "I saw you laying here unconscious, but I couldn't feel your presence at all."

Your eyes widened, tears streaming from them.

"What happened to you?" Ban asked. He had a pained expression on his face. "You were screaming so loud we could hear it from the other side of the village."

"I-I... I'll explain when we get back to the Boar Hat," you whispered. Your eyes widened and you looked at the now blank backs of your hands. You looked up at Ban. "What color are my eyes?"

"E/c," he replied.

You nodded shakily. Your breathing became heavier, your body shaking.

"It hurt," you cried. "It hurt so much. I was so scared. He was going to hurt me. A-And I was alone and—"

He hugged you and rested his head on top of yours as you sobbed into his chest, clinging to him tightly.

"It's alright," he said. "It's over. You're safe now."

The other Sins, Elizabeth, and Hawk watched with sad expressions as you continued to cry.

"Can you tell us what happened now?" Meliodas asked, holding your hands from across the table. Diane, King, and Elizabeth (and Hawk) all watched with concerned eyes.

They had just told you about what had happened while you were gone and now wanted to hear what had happened to you.

You stared down at the table. Your eyes were burning from how much you cried. 'Dammit, I overdid it,' you chastised yourself.

Ban sat next to you, concern in his eyes. He placed his hand on your head. You looked up at him, smiling softly. You turned to Meliodas.

"Jericho stabbed me with her sword," you began. "I-It wasn't like that at first, but when she stabbed me again, she did something a-and the sword got covered in this dark mana and then my wound somehow absorbed it and—"

"Y/N, slow down," Ban said, scooting closer to you and wrapping an arm around your shoulders. He held your right shoulder in his right hand and squeezed it gently. "Breathe." You took a shaky, deep breath and nodded.

"I was in this... place," you said. "It was like a tunnel. A dark tunnel that never ended. And there was this voice. A voice that was so low and cold and felt so evil."

Your breath hitched in your throat when you remembered its words to you when you called it evil. 'As if you're any better.'

"'Dark mana'?" King asked, looking at you.

You nodded. "I-It was kinda like a... a dark purple. Almost black. It felt so weird a-and cold." Your breath hitched in your throat when your eyes unfocused for a moment, then going back to normal.

You blinked, feeling as if you had forgotten something.

"That sounds like the stuff that was covering the Captain," Ban said, brows furrowing.

"Meliodas?" You asked, turning to look at Ban.

"Yeah," Ban said, looking at the table. "He was being kept in this little rock. When he broke out of it, his right side was covered in these black swirls."

You looked at Meliodas, eyes wide. Meliodas stares back at you and nodded. He let out a smile. "Well, at least we're okay. Hawk's mom will take us a small distance away from here and then we can rest for a bit."

You nodded. "Yeah, yeah." You turned to look at King. "Is your wound okay?"

King had gotten a wound from fighting with one of the Holy Knights. He had explained that that Holy Knight was a friend who had died a long time ago and that he doesn't know how he's returned.

"Y-Yeah," he nodded, hazel eyes flickering in guilt.

"That's good," you said, nodding. Your fingers began subconsciously rubbing the backs of your hands. You furrowed your brows and slammed the table. "Dammit!"

The other Sins and Elizabeth looked at you, shocked from your sudden outburst.

"I should've been there," you said, hand in a fist. "I should've been there! If I was there, then I could've helped protect you guys. I-I could've saved Elizabeth's sister, I could've protected King from Helbram, I could've protected Ban from that bitch—!" You gritted your teeth, furious.

Your shoulders suddenly relaxed, your face turning expressionless. "Guys." The Sins and Elizabeth looked at you, shocked. You looked up at them, your eyes full of rage. "The next time they show their faces around us, I'll kill them."

oOF I DELETED CHP. 33 LMAOAOAOAOAO. Idk, I thought it would be better if the other Sins didn't see u like that just yet. Hehehe, I have such a good plan for the future chapters >:3

I'm kind of surprised that quite a few people actually like this series due to the fact that I actually started this as some sort of crack fic HAH. I was like "nahh, I just need a place to read this for myself. It's not like anyone would actually read this."

Y/N: Raven Sin of Despair

"Fiend," Griamore yelled at Ban. "Remove your filthy hands from Princess Veronica!"

"That's pretty low, using a woman as a hostage," Hawk yelled. "I mean— Way to go, Ban!"

"Do as I say, and nothing will happen to her," Ban said, holding Veronica. Suddenly, everyone's eyes widened when they heard agonized screams coming from the other side of the village.

Griamore winced as he held his head.

"What is that?" Veronica said, writhing in Ban's grip.

Hawk's eyes widened. "Hey, wait. That sounds like—"

"Y/N," Ban finished, eyes wide.

Suddenly, Jericho appeared from behind and slashed at Ban's back. "Bitch—! Jericurl!"

Veronica ran out of Ban's arms and fell onto Griamore.

"Princess Veronica," Griamore gasped in relief.

"That's 'Jericho'," Jericho said, a foot planted on Ban's back.

Hawk sweat dropped, looking at the scene in front of him. "Guess it's time for the real star of the show to appear!"

"Hawk?" Elizabeth asked.

"Taste this! Rolling Ham Attack!" Hawk yelled, rolling towards Jericho and Guila.

Guila smiles and snapped her fingers, sending a now roasted Hawk flying overhead. "AHHHHHHHHHH!"

"Hawk," Elizabeth exclaimed.

"We have achieved most of our objectives," Guila said, walking towards the orb that contained Elizabeth. She looked at Jericho. "Jericho? I trust you did as Hendrickson asked?"

Jericho nodded. "She survived the experiment. Hendrickson will be pleased."

Ban gritted his teeth. "What did you do to Y/N?!"

"You're not in charge here, so you don't get to ask questions, scum," Jericho said, knocking his head with the back of her sword.

"Sir Griamore, please release your magic ability," Guila said.

Griamore released Elizabeth from the sphere, making her fall on the ground with the broken sword and necklace in hand. Guila knelt in front of her, her hand stretched to her.

"Your hand, please," she said.

"Not so fast," Veronica snapped, pushing Guila's hand away. "I appreciate your assistance. But I'll be the one to bring Ellie back." Elizabeth looked up at her. "Your... Hendrickson's objectives are just Meliodas and the sword, right?"

Guila suddenly unsheathed her sword, pointing it at Veronica. Griamore gasped and stepped forward.

"What are you—"

"Be a good girl and hand over Princess Elizabeth," Guila commanded. "If you don't—" Guila and Jericho gasped as they were suddenly trapped in a large purple sphere.

"I won't allow you to address Princess Veronica in that way," Griamore said.

"Nicely done," Veronica said, smiling at Griamore. She scowled at Guila and Jericho. "I don't know what you're planning, but it looks like Hendrickson and the rest of you need to be court-martialed!"

Elizabeth's eyes widened and took off running, clutching the necklace and the broken sword to her chest.

"Wait, Ellie! Ellie!" Veronica yelled.

"I don't trust Veronica anymore," Elizabeth yelled, running away. Veronica started chasing after her.

"Would you like us to help you capture the princess," Guila asked inside the bubble.

"Save your concern," Griamore snapped. "I suggest you worry about your own fate."

"That's a shame," Guila said. She smiled softly. "Well, he did order us to bring the princess back, but her corpse would be just as acceptable if need be."

Griamore's eyes widened in realization. "Princess Veronica—!"

Veronica finally caught up to Elizabeth, grabbing her shoulder. At the same time, she stepped on an area with a hidden land mine. Her eyes widened and she pushed Elizabeth out of the way before it went off, causing a large explosion to go off.

"Princess Veronica!" Griamore yelled, running to her.

"Elizabeth!" Hawk yelled, running out of a pile of rubble towards her.

The smoke cleared, revealing Veronica's bloody body latching onto an unscathed Elizabeth.

"Veronica... Big Sister..." Elizabeth said, shocked. Griamore and Hawk ran up to them. "This can't be happening... Why? Veronica, wake up! Please, open your eyes!" Her tears fell onto Veronica's face.

Veronica's hazel eyes opened and met Elizabeth's blue one. "Ellie...?" She said, weakly.

"I'm here! I'm right here," Elizabeth said, crying.

"You... aren't hurt?" Veronica asked.

"No, you took the explosion for me," she said, voice cracking.

"You always has a knack for getting yourself into trouble," Veronica said, smiling weakly. She closed her eyes. "I have to look out for you."

"Just like when we snuck out of the castle together," Elizabeth said, smiling. "You bore the brunt of the fall and got badly hurt in my place. I kept crying and crying, and you consoled me, ignoring the pain of your injury the whole time."

Veronica opened her eyes. "Did I...?"

"I was actually happy then," Elizabeth said, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. "Because I knew I had no blood ties to you or Father. That's why... I..." She squeezed her eyes shut, tears falling down from them.

Veronica placed her hand on Elizabeth's cheek. "Ellie... None of that stuff matters..."

"I'm sorry," Elizabeth cried, placing her hand on top of Veronica's. "What I said was terrible! I can't believe I said I hated you! I... I'm so sorry!"

"I love you, Ellie," Veronica said gently.

"You too," Elizabeth cried. "I love you too!"

"I know that," Veronica said, smiling. "After all, we're sisters." She inhaled. "Griamore."

"Ma'am," he said, eyes wide.

"This is my final order," Veronica said, weakly. "Keep Elizabeth... safe..."

"Your last order? Don't say such things," he exclaimed, tears forming. His eyes widened when he realized Veronica had taken her last breath.

"Sister," Elizabeth gasped.

"Princess Veronica," he said, tears falling from his eyes. He let out a cry of sorrow and heartbreak.

"Any time now," Guila said, sitting in the purple sphere.

"For what?" Jericho asked, looking at her. The sphere disappeared, causing Jericho to fall to the ground. "Oof!"

"For him to lose his composure and his magical ability to become unstable," Guila said. She walked towards Griamore, Elizabeth, and Hawk.

"It was a smart move to plant a ring of them all around town," she said, smiling smugly.

"You filthy swines," Hawk yelled at them.

Griamore gritted his teeth, tears still streaming down his face. "You—"

Guila made an explosion go off at him and Hawk.

"Was that wise?" Jericho asked. "He is the son of one of the grand masters."

"We were attacked by the Eight Deadly Sins, and he and Veronica met an untimely end," Guila said, walking forward. "A plausible enough story."

"You're one scary woman," Jericho murmured, walking behind her.

Guila picked up Meliodas' broken sword and smiled at Elizabeth. "Now, Princess Elizabeth, of you would please come with us? I ask that you cooperate and not offer any pointless resistance."

"Veronica," Elizabeth cried, tears streaming down her face. "Please! Help me, Sir Meliodas!"

"Shout all you like, but your hero won't come to your rescue from that stone," Guila said. "Come."

"MELIODAS," Elizabeth screamed.

Suddenly, the necklace shattered, dark mana overflowing from it.

"Captain—?" Ban gasped. "No, I've sensed this before." His eyes widened at the memory that flashed in his mind. "It can't be—!"

The mana stopped flowing to show Meliodas standing there, his eyes a lifeless purple and dark mana covering his right side.

'Where... am I?'

You stared into the dark, endless tunnel ahead of you.

'What is this?'

You stepped forward, lightheaded. Your eyesight kept going in and out of focus, your breath slow and shallow.

You looked around, feeling as if you were being watched. 'Who's there?!' The tunnel stayed silent, your breath and heartbeat being the only thing you could hear. 'Hello?'

The silence was heavy and felt... unnatural. You winced as you felt a sharp pain erupt in your chest, the same place Jericho had stabbed you.

Your eyes widened when you didn't see it on your chest.

'I̴̭̪͂t̷̢̬̑ ̶̡͕̻̘̆̽̄ḁ̴̻̀͑̾b̸̬͘s̷̳̔͂͗̕o̶̳͐͜ṛ̵̢͉͎̈́̈́͑͝b̶̡̞̲̜́͊̿͝e̸͈̕̕͝ḏ̸͙͓́ ̸̟̥̠̱̂̈́̇ḯ̴͉̱̂̏ͅt̴̲͕̮́,' you said without thinking. Your eyes widened and you brought your fingers to your lips. 'Why was that the first thing I said? I've never experienced anything like this, so why did I...?'

You saw some sort of mark on your hand, so you turned it over and your eyes widened to see matching purple signs on your hands. 'What are these?!'

You rubbed them and furrowed your brows when they showed no signs of coming off.

You sighed anxiously and looked forward. Your breath hitched in your throat when you remembered that the last thing you saw was Jericho launching herself at Ban.

'Ban,' you yelled, your voice echoing in the tunnel. 'Ban! Anyone! Can you hear me?!'

You staggered forward, arms wrapped around your chest. You hissed, trying to ignore the throbbing in your head. 'Why... am I feeling so strange?' You shook your head.

Your eyes widened when you heard a sound that sounded suspiciously like laughter. The laughter was low, sending vibrations down the tunnel you were in.

'W-Who's there,' you yelled, tears gathering at the corners of your eyes.

'P̵͖̊̌̉͘o̴͕͇͓̊͊͆͜ó̸͔̮͐́̕r̴̺̘̿́̏͐,̴̞̂ ̷͖͎͈͊͂̾͠ͅp̸̰̫͙̙̒̍̑o̴̡̟̹͕͝o̵͖̳͇͎̓͊̂͝r̸̗̆͛ ̸̰͓͎̀̈́Y̴̥̰̘̲̾̇̃̒/̴̛̻͈̭͆̈́N̷̛̜̽͋̓,' a voice said, the tunnel vibrating from the sound. Your eyes began to glow a bright purple as the symbols on your hands began to burn, your agonized screams echoing in the tunnel.

"It's good to see you again, Harlequin," the Holy Knight said. "Oh, it's 'King' now, isn't it?"

"How are you alive?" King asked. "That day I saw you—"

"It doesn't matter," Helbram said. "That is all in the past now."

"Sir Helbram," Guila called out. "We will assist."

"No, no, that's quite all right," Helbram responded. "While I keep King occupied, you two go retrieve what we were sent for."

"Yes, sir!" Guila and Jericho leaped away.

"Now then," Helbram said. "What seems to be the trouble? You seem worried. Hardly surprising for a coward like you." King looked back at him in his middle-aged form.

Just then, screams of agony rang out from the part of the village where you were. They echoed so loudly that King winced and covered his ears, his eyes tearing up.

"Y/N," King yelled. He turned to Helbram, a steely glare on his face. "Do you honestly think you can keep me busy by yourself?"

Chastiefol was circling around Helbram, its point aimed for his neck.

"Just as expected from a spirit spear forged from the Holy Tree," Helbram said. "Even when cut clean in two, it regenerates right away."

Helbram kicked Chastiefol away and kicked King down, causing King to let out a grunt. He summoned Chastiefol in front of him, making it spin rapidly.

Helbram grabbed it, making King gasp in shock. Helbram head butted King, sending him flying down and crashing him into the ground.

"Out of breath already, Majesty?" Helbram mocked. Your screams grew even louder in the distance, the sound sending chills down King's spine.

"What are you doing to Y/N?! What's happening to her?!" King yelled.

"Oh? BB Girl?" Helbram asked. "I'm surprised she isn't dead. Jericho did quite a number on her by using a... 'special move' that wasn't in the book. Well, if she's survived this long, then that means Hendrickson's hypothesis was correct."

"'Hypothesis'?" King said. "What hypothesis? What does he know about Y/N?!"

Helbram laughed. "I think you should be more concerned about yourself, Harlequin. You truly are weaker than an average person."

Chastiefol suddenly multiplied into multiple little daggers, flying towards Helbram from behind. Helbram held his hand up, causing the daggers to stop.

Helbram swung his sword at King, giving him a bloody gash on his chest. King let out a pained grunt as he used his power to knock off Helbram's helmet.

"You still have some fight left in you, I see," Helbram said. He looked up at King, a hazel eye looking at him. "Let's enjoy the festival a little more, old friend."
