So recently my tumble account was changed to a new password and I don't have access to the email account that this was created with. So... I'm still able to be logged in through mobile, but I cannot access this account through a computer any longer. This is why there has been a lack of updates from me and Lucy. I did create a new account called shroomandherpsss, so if you enjoy Lucy and other herps follow me there please!! I will probably still attempt to post on this account every once in a while, but mobile is annoying so....it may be pretty infrequent. K thanx bi

My thoughts on spider morphs
I don't know if anyone really cares what my thoughts are, but I thought I would put then out there just to clarify things since I do in fact own a spider morph ball python. Ok so first things first. Do I support the buying/selling/breeding of spider morph bps? Generally speaking, No I absolutely do not. However I did unintentionally support spider morph breeding by buying one at an expo because I had not done enough research to realize the an enchi queen bee with spider gene, would still inevitably have a wobble 😩 While I was at the expo I had every intention of bringing home either a banana morph or an ivory pastel, but all the ones I saw were tiny and frightened (which makes sense since there's so much going on. Anyway, none of them caught my attention like Lucy, who was extremely brave and curious from the start. I asked to hold her and the minute she wrapped around my arm and booped her head up to look into my face, I fell in love and couldn't turn back. When I first noticed her wobble I thought it was a funny thing all bps did. She would reach her head up to the top of the cage and it would all of the sudden flop backwards. Then I started to feel concerned and low and behold ALL MORPHS WITH SPIDER GENE WILL HAVE WOBBLE. I felt like such an idiot, what had I done? I paid a breeder for this beautiful snake, and he will now continue to do so because I supported him. But I love Lucy. I would not trade her for the world. I will NEVER breed her, because I know that all her babies would have the same defect. And while her wobble is currently manageable and she eats like a champ every week, I know that some day her condition will inevitably worsen and I will have to do what's best for her. I accept that I have a snake with a genetic problem, but I will provide her with the best quality of life that I can for as long as possible. Because I love her.

Hey! Idk if you know this or but those pet store dials in the back of Lucy's tank are Very inaccurate. I've seen them be up to 20% off in the case of my old petstore humidity gauge. I'd definitely recommend getting some different ones, they aren't terribly expensive.
I just have those as left over. I also have two digital thermo/hygrometers on each side of her tank. Thanks for the concern though!

So I've been pretty sick recently and I couldn't fall asleep last night, so I sat on the end of my bed and looked into Lucy's enclosure. Lucy then proceeded to stretch her head out from her log and just stared at me like this for 2 solid minutes. I can't express how much I love her 💕

It's in two parts, but otherwise a complete shed from Lucy with absolutely nothing left behind! I feel like I've finally worked out all of the kinks in her husbandry and it makes me so happy!!

Encounter with a Snake Snob
My friend and I were at the pet store discussing the needs and growth of her future Rosy Boa (not going to be purchased from a pet store). Me: So this Rosy Boa is already about a foot long and will only grow another 2-3 feet at most. My friend: That's not bad at all. Snake snob: Mine is 8ft long and 25 lbs. Me: Your Rosy Boa? Snake Snob: Oh, no. Not a Rosy Boa. Me: Ok, I was going to say they definitely don't get that big... What kind of snake do you have? Snake Snob: A Dumerils Boa. Me: That makes a lot more sense. Snake Snob: *continues to talk about his Boa and other snake I can't remember* Me: Cool! I have a ball python. Snake Snob: Everyone has one of those. I don't like them. Me: ..... My friend: ..... Me: *to my friend* Anyway, as I was saying, a Rosy Boa will not grow to be 8 ft long and 25 lbs.

Last night as I was giving Lucy her dinner I sat in amazement as she gulped down her meal faster than I have ever seen. After all of the things people have told me and all of the things I have read about ball pythons, Lucy just continues to surprise me. I bought her when she was only 2 months old having only ever been fed live mice. The first food I gave her was f/t and she took it without hesitation. Just recently I was hesitant to switch her to rats because I was afraid they would be too big or she would be picky and only want mice, but two weeks in a row she has eagerly accepted her rats. Not to mention its basically been winter since I've had her and I thought bps went on feeding strikes pretty commonly in the winter. I don't know... I'm just amazed and extremely lucky to have a Bp as sweet, beautiful, and eager to eat as Lucy.

The new big screen TV plays constant reruns of 'I Love Lucy' 💕 Finally finished Lucy's new home. I have multiple temp reading devices, the analogs are mostly just to monitor ambient temps. So far she seems to enjoy it 😊

My lovely snooter ate her first small rat today. I was worried about the size and worried that she would be picky and need me to scent it with mice, but no. She was determined to eat and very successful! So now that she is moving up to small rats and growing more each day I am upgrading her enclosure. I have the tank and all the hides. Once I get the heat mat, temp/hygrometer and latches she will move in. Hopefully she will continue to be a great eater in her new spacious home.
