The Rogan painting craft has more than 400 years of its history, originated from Persia and Pakistan and descended into Nirona village in Kutch, Gujarat,India. I created black and white illustration of Rogan art with Faber castell M PITT artist pen black and little inside details with micro-line 005 0.20mm fade proof black pigment ink and tracing paper. Originally hand pounded caster oil is turned into paste by boiling it, later colour powder dilluted in water is mixed with the caster oil pastes of yellow, red, blue, green, black and orange are kept in earthern pots with water with a view to avoid drying of the paste. Iron round and pointed at both ends is used to paint half of the design with support of left hand fingers from bottom of the cloth. Impression of the same is transferred on the other half portion of the cloth to complete the design. Madhubani painting is one of the many famous Indian art forms. As it is practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar, India and Nepal, it is called Mithila or Madhubani art. Often characterized by complex geometrical patterns, these paintings are known for representing ritual content for particular occasions including wedding, festivals, religious rituals, etc. Colours are often bright and pigments like lampblack and ochre are used to create black and brown respectively. Chittara Folk art from Karnataka, India, done in black ink. Chittara paintings are intricate patterns, that represent auspicious ceremony and rituals of life in different geometric patterns done by womens residing in the ranges of Verdant western ghats of North Canara, the Deevaru community. These paintings are usually 2 to 3 feet in size made of symbols representing their physical environment. They use eco-friendly natural resources like ground rice paste for white colour, roasted rice for black yellow seeds red earth. I have used black 0.4 Faber castell pigment ink pen and uniball fine point, drawing done on white recycled A4 size paper.
