If you know me, you know I want to do it all. Jack of all traditional skills being the goal, and mastery of a few of those as well. So when I started thinking about tee shirts, the only option was to do a piece of original artwork, hand paint it onto a hand built screen, and then hand screen print the shirts myself. By doing this, I am able to supply a really nice shirt and do it in short runs as well. Look forward to a few small batches of these coming soon. . . #outsiderart #handdrawn #byhandandeye #printmaking #silkscreen #diy #diyshirts #madeinvermont #jackofalltrades #illustration #drawing #atellier #designer #artist (at Lake Champlain, VT)

What would you like to see built? I’ve got chairs on the brain! I’ve started looking for the right wood, so I can get started on something. #furniture #designbuild #handmade #woodworking #designer #maker #madeinvermont #interiordesign #handcrafted #wood #sustainable #woodenfurniture

Hey everyone! This is a repost from the feed of the one and only @jimtolpin. Jim asked me to make a pair of rope beckets(handles) for this exciting project that he is wrapping up, started by Christopher Schwartz @lostartpress. The box will be sold and the profits will go to the "Youths in Woodworking" scholarship @ptwoodschool. Check it out! #woodworking #ropework #traditionaltoolchest #beckets #youthsinwoodworking #scholarship

The rope becket handles for Jasons' ( @txheritage ) new box are nearing completion! Just a few turkshead knots to cover the ends of the leather left to do. Jason sent me a few ideas for these, and then I did my own design based on a traditional #becket, but clad in leather rather than the traditional whipping. They're a bit of work, but a ton of fun to make. Plus it's a comfortable, soft handle for carrying heavy loads without hurting your hands. I see myself making more of these in the future. #leatherworking #ropework #marlinspikeseamanship #mallet #sewing #leather #threestrand #handles #woodandmetal #woodworking #shipwrightskills

I don't always make #miniaturetools ... But when I do, it is for Johns whimsy project. This framers mallet is built almost exactly like the big ones I make, though I used a knife instead of planes and spokeshaves #johnswhimsyproject #woodworking #Lilliputian #tinythroughmortise #armchairwoodworking #carving #handtools

So, I sailed my boat today for the first time ever! On the way back to the launch, the wind died, and I had a chance to grab my phone and share it with you. #goalmet #Ibuiltalmosteverypart #woodenboat #handbuilt #sailboat #artisan #woodworking #woodworker #sailandoars #international12footdinghy #youaremissingout #comissiononetoday

What about a traditional wooden mallet of any size/weight made from the best quality materials available? Is that something you might be interested in? #woodworking #handtools #mallet #shipwrightskills #handmade #madetoorder

Here is a pair of the white oak doors we have been working on lately. If they look tall and skinny, that is because they are! #woodworking #manhattan #whiteoak #customdoors #joinery #doors #cabinetmaker #fumed #fromscratch #Ibuild

Another shot of the inside of the Browns River covered bridge. Though it was built by a little known builder, we know the bridge opened in 1838. It was refurbished during my childhood, and was featured in the National Geographic documentary about Milton Graton the famous covered bridge restorer. I can still remember the solemn team of oxen dutifully towing the 100 foot long bridge off of the river. As a kid that really amazed me, and I haven't seen anything quite like it since. This one is for @jimtolpin who always wants to know how things were built. Jim, they used trunnels for all the big timber connections, and steel bolts and tie rods for the rest. #woodworking #timberframe #vermont #coveredbridge #trunnels #legacy #ourvanishinglandscape

After we had "repaired" the found boat for almost three hours, we naturally had to take it for sea-trials. This was the second covered bridge I traveled under under yesterday! #lamoileriver #vermont #coveredbridge #burrarch #bestsummersever #nature #boating
