Even the Brightest Stars, upon the upmost Stress, can collapse. To which... a black hole appears. And things that were once beautiful have the power to destroy; even itself.

Lance McClain, poor Cuban Boy, raised to a Fine young Man, and finally to a Dashing Paladin of Voltron... or was he? Sure, there was criteria to become a Man, but what about a Paladin?

Smart? (I’m not that...) Professional (Definitely Not...) Role Model (Not...exactly?) Powerful (Maybe?) Talented? (No...) Useful? (...No) Important? (...)

Lance stuffed his face in his Pillow; He hated having these thoughts. These thoughts these thoughts these thoughts. These goddamn thoughts that just won’t go away. He let out a soft choke and quickly covered his mouth, holding in a cry after biting his tongue.

What if I...bite off my tongue.... then I can’t talk... and then I won’t be annoying... I can... I can be useful then, right?

Lance growled to himself and bit onto the squishy fabric of the pillow (stop it... stop it...)

But it wouldn’t stop.

Slowly, Lance found himself rocking in the dark. He was trapped in his own mind, with only the maticculous sound of the squeak of the bed echoing in his brain that would register from the real world. This went on for hours. A mental torture of his own creation: and there was nothing he could do. Like they were saying, he was useless.

The next morning, Lance had a glazed look to his eyes: Something was off. At first, the team only noticed his silence. Huzzah! Actual peace and time to get things done!

But... it was off. To not hear his witty jokes. To not have him interrupt. To not have him blabber on small details. He just... stood in the corner. Detached from it all. More so than even Kieth. And THAT was an accomplishment.

That’s when they noticed the look in his eye. That dark emptiness. Hunk would wave his hand in front of his face and... nothing. Not even a “Huh?” Of a snap back to reality. Just... Silence.

It only got worse from there. Lance practically made sure he had as little contact with anyone as possible. Which, knowing Lance, was an alien concept for him. He was an outgoing guy; The best to strike a conversation with. But now... he just stared. Watching. Waiting. It was unnerving.

“Lance... Is there something Wrong?” Shiro inquired, his arms crossed and his eyebrows furrowed in concern.

“Fine.” Was all he got back.

“You seem... odd. Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

“Mmm.... Okay...”

Suddenly it hit Lance like a brick.

Why was he even there? Sure, he pilots Red, but Kieth is back. Shiro is still alive, and Allura can still fly blue. His math all those years ago was still correct. Still a Paladin too many. He could leave and nobody would bat an eye.

He could. He could. He could.

And that’s all he needed to know.

Loki Arrives And he’s just like,”Thor, Odinson? You’re coming with me.”

“Wait wait wait what? Look Witch man, I don’t know what you’re playing at, but My Name is Theodore [insert basic ass last name] I don’t know what you’re on about.”

Loki just rolls his eyes and Suddenly transports them back to Asgard, and Thor is shook to hell. He sees gold everywhere and he’s quaking.

Well, Here’s an AU: To the Moon! Shiro AU.

Keith and Lance are the two scientists who help Shiro who’s ill and on his final hours to get him to the Moon Kerberos with his friend Matt, Matt’s Father, and his Fiancé. Through the machine they find out the horrible things in Shiro’s life like the plane crash that took his Fiancé and losing his arm in a terrible accident.

You rearrange his memories, on his final minutes, so that he lives a perfect happy life. His fiancé Lived. His arm was there. He had a nice family. And as his heart gives way, there it is.

Kerberos.

The cold fades in. He closes his eyes. And finally... one last... long piano key.
