I'm back on my doctor who bullshit and I just. I cannot get over ninerose. he met her right after losing his entire planet and what's the first thing he does? he takes her to witness the destruction of hers, so that he can have this, he can have someone who knows what it's like to stand and watch their world burn. but he can take her back, Earth is still there, she can still go home. he can never have that. he can never go home. but at least for that short time, he had someone who Understood. he wasn't alone anymore.

Doctor Who season 4 is so delightful because you can tell that The Doctor, on occasion, straight up forgets that he's sad and burned because he's busy being in a sci-fi buddy comedy. And then something will remind him and he'll be like oh! I'm sad and burdened! And Donnas almost always there to be like 'hi sad and burdened. I'm Donna' and he has a completely proportional reaction like 'i would die a thousand deaths for you'.
