"Write? Oh those notes were yours. I thought they were from an overly keen poltergeist sharing your name. Because surely my own brother would have the decency to hand delivery such messages if he truly did not have the time to speak to me in person." Claudia sat back in her chair with a raised eyebrow, needing to give him a little bit of a ribbing for that. Even if she understood why. He was so very busy now an entire city was seemingly on his shoulders.
"Sit down, you're having wine with me now. No arguments. It's watered down, I'm not getting you drunk. This time."
Claudia would get her brother to relax for a few minutes whether it was the last thing she would do. Already she was now standing to go to her decanter and pour them both a glass before he could refuse. Bringing it over, her expression had softened somewhat.
"I've missed you, brother."

Claudia looks up at Ezio from her desk as he walks in. She squints at him and then gives a dramatic gasp, hand to her chest.
"Is that...is that the Ezio Auditore da Firenze! And he is gracing me with his ever vanishing presence?! Am I dreaming?" With how little she saw him, of course she had to tease.
ROME IF CRUMBLING - and Ezio is determined to rebuild it brick by brick if he must. Their Uncle's death would not be for nothing. Of course , this had left him very little time to spend with his family & in particular , Claudia. DISTANCE HAD BEEN EASIER IN THE BEGINNING , the images of their father and brothers hanging , they had never quite left Ezio. He could only be thankful that Maria and Claudia hadn't joined them.
"Ah , Sorella , you are in a good mood , i see." Warm eyes roll , the barest hint of a smile on his lips.
"I did write..." IF LEAVING NOTES AROUND THE HIDEOUT COUNTED AS LETTERS.

HEADCANON/DISCUSSION - Aletheia and her children.
I really wish we got some kind of Isu context to the fates of Aletheia and Loki's children. Especially Jormüngandr.
In myth, and according to the AC wiki, he was thrown by Thor into the shores of Jotenheimer (a land, I believe, belonging to the Grecoromans) which killed a bunch of Isu. What does that translate to out of myth and into Isu history?
Was he forced onto a suicidal mission on the Grecoromans - was he shot down from his vehicle or drowned and it lead to a beneath sea explosion?
With Fenrir, we know he was imprisoned until Ragnarok.
Hel apparently was appointed by Havi to lead her own realm - so out of all three of them, she seems to be the only one that did well.
I just want more Isu lore!

Rebecca had noticed there was nothing on Kassandra's record at all, a big warning sign, but she didn't want Kassandra to know she knows, in case that initiates some sort of attack. Best to investigate this in the background, see if any roads lead back to some sort of betrayal, see if they can find her true identity. She can't tell this to Shaun yet, but she does move to his computer. Just to check it hadn't been compromised and this was a distraction.
"That's a very bold claim. Are you saying you know who did, or is that the mystery you're coming to us with?" Shaun said first, but looked thoroughly unconvinced. "Though as much as I loathe what Templar historians do to history, they have far more resources than practically anyone else when it comes to finding intel on pieces of eden. Considering how intensely they are after the things, I'm not sure it's wise to start discrediting their intel just yet and we have a promising start."
If this lead was a true one, then perhaps this team can do more careful digging, but he was not ready to drop this, so far, solid intel on the whim of a stranger. He knew Bishop would also not approve it either.
"We got this intel right from the source, and the Templar's had already narrowed it down to them. They're pretty confident with it." Becs added, since she had been the one to scrape the data from Isabella Ardant's computer.
The Keeper was hyperaware of her surroundings. Coming here was a risk she needed to take, no matter how much Aletheia had warned against it. If she could help them find the shroud before they got to Evie's first meeting with her, she could come out of this as relatively unknown as before.
The fact that she wasn't immediately clocked from other visions of assassins' past was a miracle in and of itself. She had encountered so many, she wondered how many they had already looked into. Perhaps she slid into those little pockets where the Animus hadn't visited.
There was some knowledge that they were probably surveying her right now, trying to see if she was a known entity or not. Their technology was great and she couldn't pretend to understand it all, nor did she necessarily want to.
"I was never into the idea of Gods ruling us, let alone the First Civilization." She huffed for a moment, brushing a few loose strands of hair behind her ear. "I've little care for anyone who would try to force their will on others. To see themselves as elevated beings." Even Kassandra with her high concentration of Isu blood, who may as well have been a goddess herself with the power she held, didn't see herself as above humanity. She only saw herself as separate, detached from it. Like she didn't belong anymore.
Shaun's shift in focus didn't go unnoticed and she resisted the urge to look behind her to see what he was glancing at. It couldn't have been a person, her back was against the bookshelf.
They were surveying her, she realized as the woman came in through the window, mid-conversation as if she had been there the entire time. "Ah, figured you would try to run a check on me while I was here. See? Clean record. Not a Templar or Abstergo." She restrained a laugh at Shaun's annoyance.
"A pleasure to meet you both. As I said before, my name is Kassandra." She did know their names already. The Keeper had her ways, after all. She chose them for a very specific reason.
"I hadn't noticed," Kassandra remarked, returning to her more relaxed position against the bookshelf. The attitude between the two of them felt familiar, like some of the people she'd known in times past. For a moment, there was a flicker of a frown, missing that sort of friendship she once held with others.
Once Shaun returned, she took the proffered tea, giving a nod of thanks as she held it carefully. Immortal or not, she wasn't about to burn her hands just for a nice cup of tea.
"You're not going to find what you're looking for in the simulation. The Fryes didn't hide the artifact, someone else did."

Randvi smiled at the mention of an intoxicated bear. She looked forward to the feast where Eivor would tell that story, perhaps imitating the bear a little for the children. Randvi loved seeing her like that. Eivor had a way with words and people both.
"You both always seem to find the weirdest sights in Britain. I remember Eivor mentionning a pig that could see the future in Lunden. Though I am convinced she ate some mushrooms beforehand." Her voice was quiet, eyes closed as she tried to quell the storm that spun within her stomach. It made her almost despise herself that she was sitting here, reunited with her love, and yet the happy stories were tinged with her own sadness. Everything that happened now seemed painted with that same coating too. Everything dulled and...
It reminded her quite a lot of how she had felt not long after being married. When the anger died and was replaced. For a time, especially coming to England, it had disappeared. She had been preoccupied with helping construct and set up and greet newcomers, and protect the town with scouts, that she was too distracted.
Now? Everything urgent was handled by Eivor and her men. It left her with just this. The maiden within her, the one who had once had her aspirations, had resurfaced - reminding her how so far away this life was from the one she had imagined for herself.
In life we cannot always get what we want.
Kassandra's words 'I could never do what you do' just hit that note within her again.
But I wanted to do what you do.
She was quiet for some moments, pondering if speaking about it would make it better or worse. Would it only worry everyone? Would it worry Eivor, thinking she might attempt to leave just like she had those years ago. In the end, she decided to - eyes opening and gazing at the slow-running water of the stream as she did.
"I was going to be a drengr for hire once. That was my plan for myself, if not a general for my clan. Back then, I would have said the same things as you. She would not recognise me now. She would have liked you, the same as I do now. I doubt you could have kept up with me." She ended it on a lighter note, to dull the edge to her words.
It had been told to her, that she would need to change to fit in. It was the duty of a wife - now not legally one, but bound still by duty.
She had lifted herself out of this mood before, she hoped that she could do it again.
This was the thing she hated about being away, missing embraces like this from Randvi. That she often had to take care of things when Eivor was away made it harder to have her come along. And it made Kassandra sad she couldn't bring her along. But as the acting Jarlskona in Sigurd's absence, Eivor had her duty, and she needed Kassandra's aid in the matter. One day, hopefully, Randvi would get to venture out with them.
"Always. Eivor said if you survive it, it's always a good story. Or something to that effect. She can tell it better than I could. But a bear intoxicated on mushrooms may have been involved." It was enough of a tease that she was sure Randvi would get the tale out of Eivor in record time.
"I could never do what you to do. I'm but a mercenary, I take contracts, I have my missions, and I often work alone. Having to deal with the town's issues and make judgment calls? It could never be me." She rested her own head atop Randvi's, amber eyes casting out at the waters once more. The Keeper was a tough enough job, but she didn't envy those two one bit.
"Not when they have the three of us running about. And I suppose some of the men folk."

"I'm here for you, ready to listen and support you through this."
"You don't have to face it alone."
"It's hard to explain, but there's this heaviness in my heart that I can't seem to escape."
"I may not fully understand what you're going through, but I want you to know that I'm here to offer a shoulder to lean on."
"Please don't let sadness consume you. There's so much beauty to be found in this world."
"I know it's hard, but I'm trying my best."
"Your presence alone brings light into my life, and that's worth fighting for."
"I hate seeing you sad."
"Let me be the one to bring a smile back to your face."
"Your love and support mean the world to me."
"I'm trying to find my way back to happiness, and with you by my side, I know I'll get there."
"We're both going through a tough time, but we can lean on each other for support."
"It's comforting to know that we're not alone in our sadness."
"Together, we'll find strength and healing."
"Our sadness may feel overwhelming, but we can find solace in sharing our burdens."
"Let's lean on each other, even in our darkest moments."
"We can be a source of strength for one another."
