Sky’s story Pt 1
Sky was born in a city far away from the Tree of Feelings. He was forced into doing what his parents wanted. Sky hated everything that his wealthy parents wanted. He was worried about what his parents were trying. He was storing what little gold he could as well as making an escape bag for the day he could flee from his toxic parents.
His last straw was when his parents said that they had a marriage proposal for him, but they were trying to force him to be more like a girl. He was so done with them, he finally gained the courage and ran away.
He managed to run far before his gold started to run low. He sighed with worry. What is he going to do? He couldn’t go back. Would becoming an apprentice in the next town work? He decided that is the best course of action and ventured towards the next town.
He starts up again on the side of the road. Why was there so much traffic now? He was being forced into the forest from the abundance. So he started traveling in the forest as a result. As it was starting to get dark, he slept safely there. Upon waking, he spotted something in the forest when the sun rose. Was that a house in the forest? He thought.
He slowly went to what he thought was a house, and realized that it was not a house. It was once an out house. So grossed out, he tried to get back to the road. But he found out he was lost. He groans at himself, irritated.
He picks a direction that he was hoping that would lead to the next town. By midday he was tired and hungry. If it wasn’t a tree or bush he had stopped paying attention. He ran into another.
“Hey! What are you doing here? This is private property.” the stranger yelps.
“It is? Oh freak. I'm sorry. I was lost and trying to get to a town or road.” Sky explains and then his body makes a growl. “Sorry, I am a bit hungry.” He mentioned as he placed his hands over his abdomen.
“Hungry? So what are you going to do when you get to the nearest town?” the other said then sighs, “here, have some of my lunch.” the stranger gave him a portion of food.
“Thank you.” Sky said, smiling and eating what he was given. The other ate as well as Sky explained. “I was planning on becoming an apprentice. I don’t have much gold left.”
“Do you know that you have to pay for an apprenticeship?” the other says.
“No, how much is it?” this news hurt Sky, he didn’t know this.
“It can be anywhere from twenty to fifty gold depending on the skill.” the other said, then he flinched as Sky started tearing. “Hey hey, calm down. I can get you a free meal and stay at the local inn, just do what it says on the paper and maybe things will go well for you.”
“Huh? Do what the paper says?” Sky was confused, wiping his tears away.
“Yes, maybe things will go well.” the other said. “The road is that way and then the town is only a few more minutes of the way.” he points to the road, then to the town.
“Thank you, so much.” and with that, he took off the way that the other said to go.
“Really. Why didn’t he flirt or act like he was going to get the guardianship?” the other asked when Sky was out of earshot. And he went back to his home.
Sky made it to the town and read what the paper said. Go to the golden apple for your evening meal, and the Purple apple inn for the night. On the marrow go to Holly and do what she says. Sky grins, this seems easy enough, and hopefully he can be safe from his evil family.
He settles and looks at the town and how it seems so different from where he grew up. He saw that the kids were running around happily. He counts how much gold he has left and found… he had ten left, half of what the other said was the minimum of what an apprenticeship costs. Maybe he could ask for leniency?
He does what the paper says and shows them the paper. They serve him something hearty and filling. And then the inn gave him a small room. He doesn’t even fight about the size, glad that he had a room to sleep in. When morning arrived he walked out, hearing everyone talking about something dealing with guardians. He didn’t pay them any heed as he went to the innkeeper to ask where he could find Holly. He was pointed to where he should go.
As he went straight there, he met Holly. Holly was an elderly woman. He flinched but came to her, “So what am I to do?” He asked.
“Well, touch an apple and come back to me. But not any apple, one that calls out to you.” Holly said, remembering what her beloved Birch did so long ago.
“Touch an apple? Wait as in the old legend of Nim? Isn’t that dangerous?” Sky seemed alarmed, where was he and if this was a prank? Was this to be a recreation of the old legend and if so that would mean he travelled far enough.
“Ah you know that legend well, this is a test of you.” Holly said, smiling at how this young one is at least aware that the apples are dangerous.
Sky steeled himself and sees the Tree of Feelings. He was shocked, but he ignored the low hanging apples. He was sure that would lead to death. He didn’t like this. Why doesn’t he get a chance of actually doing anything? He touches the trunk, and like a being with a mission, climbed the tree. He avoided all the apples til he got to the very top and reached for an apple. Now that he touched one everything is over right? He screamed and fell from the branch, his soul hurting badly. Holly caught him and laid him down.
“Ladies and Gentlemen! The new Guardian has been found! The contest is over!” Holly says with tired yet happy eyes.
“Wait he passed? He couldn’t have Auntie.” the one that told Sky where to go and helped him the day before, sounding very upset.
“Star, he did know that the apples are dangerous, and didn’t go for the easy path. He did touch a negative apple so he must be the new guardian.” Holly explains.
“But he… he must be like the rest, only wanting power!” Star was not happy. He looked at the crumpled Sky with fear.
“Star, stop. All you have to do is ask the village if he did anything like the rest, but the tradition has been fulfilled.” Holly said sternly to Star.
Sky had listened to this as the pain finally ebbed. “Guardian? That can’t be right. I can’t be a guardian. W-what is going on? I thought that I was going to have an apprenticeship with Holly! N-not do something that deals with this!”
Holly snorted from this. He reminded her so much of Birch. “What is your name?”
“S-sky, I am Sky.” Star made a funny noise hearing the name. It matches like all the past guardians.
“Well, with you completing the test, you and Star are married.” Holly said with a laugh.
“What?!” Sky was floored, fainting right after. Star just looked at Sky in confusion. He really didn’t know anything. And… he then scoops up his now married spouse and takes him to the Guardian’s Cottage.
Holly smiled; she was glad that one that didn’t want the powers actually got them. More and more were just wanting access to the apples. She understood Star’s reluctance to Sky, but Sky was much like the Nightmare from the tales. What made this happen?
When Sky regained consciousness, he looked over at Star. “If I failed, would I have been killed or would I have been stopped?”
Star looks down. “We don’t stop people from fate.”
Sky looks down. “So, I was actually sent to die? Where does all this, besides me accidentally entering your lands, say I deserve this fate?”
“Look I’m sorry. I was tired of everyone hitting on me and asking me to help them get the correct apple to be able to be the next guardian. I put that all on you thinking that you were lying about being there accidentally. Uncle Birch dying so suddenly was big news. I am sure you heard of it.” Star sighed out. He gave Sky a look and when Sky was blank, “You had to have heard about his death, right?”
“He died? I… no, I haven't. That would explain why I was being forced off the road and those people in the inn. I just thought that it was an influx of trading.” Sky said truthfully.
Star now felt guilty. He should have figured that the other was saying the truth instead of actually thinking the worst. He did feel the desperation and pain from the other, but thought it nothing but a ploy. “I’m going to go to town and get some things. You need some time to recover from being turned into a guardian.”
“I… alright.” Sky was a bit worried about this marriage. He ran away to prevent himself from getting married. And given how his parents were, he was scared.

History lessons
Hazel goes into the village smiling.
A young child runs up to her. “Can you tell the story of the great Apple tree? I just love the story.”
“Why do you love it so much?” Hazel asked smiling with a little snort
“Because it has a happy ending. And the sad parts make the happy ending so happy!” the child chirps running around and more kids start to crowd her.
“Okay. I will tell the story of the great apple tree.” Hazel told them moving to sit down. The children sit and was already quiet for the tale of old.
“A long time ago before everyone knew what the great apple tree was for it had a Guardian. The guardian was named Nim. She had made sure no one but her touched the apples. And then a person touched an apple and turned into a raging evil. She killed the evil at a high cost. She was fatally wounded. Worried for the tree and everyone in the world she started to make life. But the two she made were too powerful for a body like hers so she let Magic take hold and as you can see, magic gave us the appearance of Skeleton monsters.” she got ooos from this and she continues.
“Nightmare the guardian of the black apples and Dream the guardian of the gold apples was born. They kept a good watch on the tree but that doesn’t last. The nearby village thought Dream was the reincarnation of Nim and Nightmare the reincarnation of the great evil. When Dream was away in the village they had sent some villagers to torment Nightmare. This went one for a few years.” the children gasped “Why would they think he was a great evil? He never did anything.” “Children, it is because both humans and monsters can make assumptions and hurt others without meaning to. And no interrupting or I will stop.” “Yes miss Hazel.”
“One day Dream came to see them hurting Nightmare. Dream felt anger for the first time. He yelled and then felt nothing, he was not able to feel the negative as they could. Nightmare having enough of this said ‘If I am not wanted here at all then I will leave.’ and he limped away.
Dream was shocked why did his brother just leave? Why did they hate him so? He went to the tree that he spent his entire life with his brother and stayed there looking lost and sad. Months go by and the village tried everything to make him smile and be back to his normal ways. A few were questioning their own actions. Maybe they did Nightmare wrong and him being gone has made everything go wrong. One had enough. She told them that if Nightmare was the great evil they all would be dead. She went to find him not just for Dream but to fix the evil that they caused. The village was shocked that they were the great evil. And they realized that she was right. They gave her the supplies to help her find Nightmare and to bring him back.
“She trekked for months finding nothing. She thought she had seen tracks of his. But why hasn’t he came to her? She then realized that he was afraid. He was afraid of her trying to harm him again. The months turned to seasons and then she spotted him trapped in a snare meant for rabbits. She ran to him and he struggled to get away from her but the snare held him to be too close. She got the snare off and he runs. Nightmare was so afraid of her, that the fact that she helped him went over his head. She noticed that he was acting like one of the village cats. Not trusting anything. She was determined to help him and saw that he was very hurt when she was freeing him from the snare.
“She set up camp and waited. It didn’t take long for Nightmare to get curious about her. He did recognize her from the village and she never did harm him but never stopped it either. Soon he got closer to her to ask why she was here. ‘I am here to fix what everyone did to you. You did nothing wrong but was hurt for it.’ he didn’t believe her at first but when she found him curled up holding his arm she bandaged it. He was shocked, she was helping him? Why? She couldn’t be doing this for him. She helped him heal all the wounds and sores he had gained from his run. He was shy and didn’t talk much to her. But she was talking to him about what she said to the village. ‘They thought of me as a murderer, the one that killed my mother?’ Nightmare asked now getting why they hated him so.he disappeared for days after that. But he did come back. And started warming up to her. He wanted to go home. And they did. While she was helping Nightmare, Dream was getting worse. Dream hadn’t eaten nor truly slept since Nightmare left. The village tried to help but he just looked at them with his haunted eyes.
“When Nightmare came back with her he was shocked at his brother. But his brother was so ecstatic that he was back that he hugged. Dream recovered now that his brother was back. Nightmare married the now hero of the village for doing what was right. Dream eventually marries as well. And while Nightmare lay dying his great-niece started the tradition of choosing the guardians of the tree.” Holly finished the tale.
“That story is great! And it’s true making it even better!” the child that asked to hear the story said grinning.

Here is just before things start to go wrong
Many centuries later...
Codex watches all the code running over the multiverse, zipping in many directions as time goes by. Codex looks over as he hears his friend, Recycle, emerging from his little Anti-void. “Hey Codex,” Recycle greeted the other, “how is the code?” As Recycle asked this and walked up to the Ink, it was obvious his short stature of 3 feet was towered by Codex’s height of 5’9.
“Doing well,” Codex smiled at his friend. “but one needs a pruning soon.” He looked back to the multiverse, a now serious look on his face.
“Okay, so which one?” Recycle questioned, preparing to head to his work soon. Codex turned back to Recycle and told him which one he mentioned.
Meanwhile, in the Dreamtale server…
Holly walked up to her new, happy husband, the new positive guardian of the Tree of Feelings. She grins at the safely guarded tree as the first guardian, Nim, continues to watch the tree.
“Soon this place is going to be filled with flowers.” Holly is smiling
“Are you pregnant?” Birch asked his wife in surprise.
“No silly it’s almost spring.”
“Oh. But I thought we were trying.” The tone in his voice made it seem as if he wanted a kid.
With Codex and Recycle…
“I wonder what would happen if we entered the servers instead of watching them.” Codex questioned Recycle with a blank look.
“You know that it is against our programming. If we do that the entire thing will collapse.” Recycle told his friend with a serious look waving his hand to all the servers.
“But… this is just not enough for me.” Codex said making Recycle look at him like he was crazy. “I need more people to talk to.”
“But we can’t and you know this.” Recycle leaves to his Anti-void.

Well, I got some names from the quill.
Well, I got some names for you all. The quill is called Quill, I know that sounds like a weak name, but that is what the ink named her. The Ink is named Codex. The Error is named Recycle. You know the Nightmare’s name Sky. The Dream is Star. and oddly this is who are the major players of this story.

Who's the kid? Why is he so upset? What did the person "survive" and if you're not the survivor... then who are you?
I put both asks in the same answer. The kid is the survivor and he is upset over all the trauma he went through. Me, I am a creator that caught him. He survived the death of his Multiverse.

What is Serververse?
It’s a now dead Multiverse with only one survivor. I am getting everything about the Multiverse from the survivor and a Quill. It might take some time because the survivor is still traumatized.
