I was recently invited to play a pokemon ttrpg campaign and when I asked if they were using PTU or Pokerole, or maybe some other purposefully made pokemon system and they said "Oh no! We've just been spending days upon days trying to force pokemon into 5e!" My heart absolutely sank.
They're my friends but not gonna lie the first session was one of the absolutely worst times I've ever had playing a tabletop game.
"Hey I wanna play a game where lovecraftian horrors attack the titanic! And the PCs have to desperately try to survive!"
"Woah! That sounds like an absolutely awesome module for Call of Cth-"
"I think D&D 5e would be the best system for this."

Cain rpg is good bc where else wld u spend all of the money you got from barely surviving a mission on nice clothes and new shoes instead of actual powerful mechanical buffs? Because then you have to ask yourself. Well how long would this guy be able to go without having comfortable shoes. You may be a psychic supersolider but wouldn’t you like to be human. God
