KOSTAS & JULIE
‘‘fuck you? you seriously think i want to fuck you right now? oh please, don’t flatter yourself now.’‘ julie commented as she rolled her eyes - puttting the wine bottle down eventually. she let out a sigh as soon as his fingers touched her chin and she looked at him. there was no denying the fact that she missed him but that was not the reason for her to invite him. between everything that she had going on, she had simply forgotten the fact that they had broken up. or at least, she had failed to mention it to her parents. ‘‘oh baby, you think you made me cum? you seem to have forgotten that i also have two hands that never failed me to cum while you did.’‘ julie chuckled at her own words but she could always blame that on the alcohol. it had been ages since she had some alcohol in her system and she felt like this was just the perfect excuse for her to consume some. that was until he had taken away the bottle which left her with a pout on her face. ‘‘excuse me? since when do you get to control when i drink, huh? but hey, go ahead, leave. it’s not like you were planning on telling them that story from when we took a trip up to their cabin and fucked on well, their dinner table? yeah, i doubt that’s gonna make a good impression on them so if i were you, i’d stay.’‘
“don’t say that like it’s such a crazy thought. we both know your sex drive is insatiable — as you’ve previously proven.” blatant bitterness lined his statement, unwillingly to bite his tongue any longer. mental images of their past altercations flooded his mind despite doing his best to block them out. “you see, under different circumstances, that would sting. but i’ve learned to take everything cheaters say with a grain of salt — it’s in the first chapter of ‘ dealing with promiscuity 101 ’, coming right before excessive defense and targeted apathy.” a genuine laugh escaped his lips as he stared at the girl in disbelief, waiting for a sign of humor to downplay her words but it failed to come. “and why exactly do you think that i give a single fuck about what your parents think? they aren’t people i have to impress — no one here is. in case you forgot, YOU need ME. it’s never been the other way around.” kostas glanced at the bottle in his hand and took a prolonged pull of the alcohol to drown the string of poisonous words that threatened to spill out of his mouth. “next time you try to intimidate me, remind yourself of whose ass is on the line. hint: it’s not mine.” he set the wine on the table and took a step back. “so if you wanna get sloppy drunk and make a fool out of yourself, be my guest. i’m done being your safety net.”

KOSTAS & LUNA
SHE DIDN’T LOOSEN her grip on his arm, instead tightened it a little with every syllable that came out of the boy’s mouth. “it’s honestly none of your business, kostas, and my sex life is even better now that i’m not with you.” though when she thought about it, it’d been awhile since she slept with anyone, really. the night she cheated to be exact. “you’re impossible.” if she wasn’t buzzed off of all the wine she had, maybe she would have put up more of a FIGHT. instead, she dropped his arm from her grip in one rough swoop, and crossed her arms across her chest. “i won’t say a word to ANYONE, and neither will you. and i’m not going to jack you off under the dinner table five feet away from my parents. NOT THIS TIME — if you wanted me to suck your dick, all you had to do was say ‘ pretty please ‘.” luna huffed.
“somehow, i find that very hard to believe.” he surmised with an insolent stare. “no one can fuck you like i can.” a watchful eye scrutinized her preceding moves as she folded her arms into a conventional fashion of impediment, an action that informed kostas she had ceased discussion for that particular topic — but that didn’t mean HE was finished talking about it. “i want a name. tell me who you’ve been fucking.” his head raised in suspicion as the remainder of her venom dripped off her lips. “what makes you think i won’t say a word? you must have a pretty low standard for hope if you believe that. and you think i wanted a handjob? i was just letting you know what you’ve been missing, luna. i thought you knew i’ve always preferred your mouth, since your hands are just a little too small for my taste.” his eyebrows creased into an expression of reflection as he momentarily glanced at her slender fingers before shaking his head. “oh, baby. was i the one who dragged you away from the table? i don’t think so. if anything, our GRAND EXIT told your parents that you were aching for me to scratch an unreachable itch of yours.”

KOSTAS & LUNA
JUST AS the tiny brunette opened her mouth to whisper back a response, her mother returned with the desserts. her father attempted to bring up an entire new conversation, but quite frankly, luna was BORED and far too distracted by the hand still slowly moving up the young man’s thigh. “we’re going to pass on the dessert, ma – we’re stuffed from dinner.” she stood from her chair quicker than anticipated, and downed the rest of the wine that was in her glass. “oh, that’s too bad. i’ll set some aside for you two.” is all her mother could muster as her daughter was dragging her “ boyfriend “ out of his seat and towards the stairs. “you’re being ridiculous. i said to ACCOMPANY me and keep your mouth shut, not try to seduce me underneath the dinner table.” she rambled frustratingly, turning to lay a petty smack on the boy’s shoulder. “and i’m a changed woman, kostas,” all a lie. “i may have loved that kind of fun BEFORE, but i’m really trying here.”
“well, i guess we’re stuffed.” he offered a shrug coupled with a tepid wave to serve as his adieu before she practically hauled him out of the room, her strength surprisingly vigorous despite her diminutive stature. while he could have easily pulled his arm back to release her grip, kostas instead complied with her action and followed her steps — anything to get away from that vapid table talk. “first i'm supposed to accompany you, then i'm supposed to keep my mouth now, and now i can’t even have a little fun? man, you’re more on edge than usual. when was the last time you had a good fuck?” he deemed his question as valid, since it would give an explanation to her tension ( though it was admittedly unnecessary ). “changed woman? give me a break — don’t think i didn’t notice you chug the rest of that wineglass.” a laugh accompanied his words. “if you’re really trying, why don’t you try telling your parents the truth? i know it’ll break their hearts since i'm such a great catch and all, but that’s what a changed woman would do. right, luna? while you’re at it, go ahead and tell them exactly WHY we broke up.”

TALAN & EDEN
“not exactly but in reality do you believe that we will be together forever and it will be a happily ever after? – sweetie, this isn’t a fairytale but i just need to be certain you won’t walk away when things get tough,” there wasn’t a lot of emotion to her voice, it was rather serious which wasn’t unusal for her. dropping her gaze from him for a moment, a sigh fell from her lips, “i am afraid of letting anyone too close, my world is full of secrets and dark ones, what if i take this plunge with you and then its too much and you leave, how can i trust you will keep those secrets and take them to your grave?” as she asked that questioned, her gaze was completely focused on him because she needed to watch his every move, to make sure she could truely bring him into her world. eden was growing irriated, her dark eyes narrowed slightly as she folded her arms tightly over her chest, “i’m not wasting your time, you don’t have to stay with me and you have known that from day one so if i’m such a time waster then just leave,” she almost snapped at him, classic eden, she was fiery. one minute she would be your best frined the next your nightmare, “look, i am willing to make us official but i swear to god if you ever tell anyone the things you learn while we are together you will be sorry.”
to say her words hit below the belt would be an understatement — they were more gut-wrenching than she probably recognized, as typical in true eden fashion. her regard for other people’s feelings had always ranged from minimal to nonexistent and it continued to reign true right in front of him. “i'm not saying we’ll live in a castle and sing to animals every morning, but you’re more desensitized than i thought if you really don’t think we could work out. the idea of being happy with someone is far from naïve.” talan kept a close watch on the girl as her demeanor shifted, a layer of herself practically deteriorating before his eyes. “if you don’t already see how devoted i am to you, then you’re fucking blind. i don’t care what happens between us; i would never put you in a position that leaves you defenseless — even if you don’t want to take the next step with me.” admittedly, the last part of his delivery was spoken through gritted teeth, but that didn’t stop it from being sincere. an unintentional eye roll plagued his expression before placing both hands on either side of her arms. “i know that i don’t have to stay with you — i WANT to. you’re worried about letting people get too close and i'm worried about looking like a fucking idiot if you see no future between us. is that so bad? i don’t think so.” he rubbed her skin softly, his hands apologizing in tactile form. “what secrets are you even talking about? your solemnity is making me reconsider this whole ‘official thing.” of course he was kidding, but everyone knew that there was always a faint sliver of true behind every jest.

KOSTAS & LUNA
WHEN LUNA had asked ( more like begged ) kostas to come to this holiday dinner with her, in no way did she explain to him that he had to be all lovey dovey. “you’re such a doll,” she practically sneered, turning to rest her head on the male’s shoulder and nuzzle it slightly - two could play at that game. “i guess you must have a lot of love for me then?” she teased. any confidence in her vanished immediately when she noticed something DIFFERENT. he was beginning to lead her hand towards an area she’d swore to never go near again. after she cheated, she couldn’t even imagine being in this position. the shock was shown only in tightly pursed lips and a quick warning glance up to kostas. “what do you think you’re doing ??” she snapped under her breath, beginning to move her hand back to it’s rightful spot on the young man’s thigh when she stopped herself. luna was walking on egg shells – as far as she was concerned, whatever kostas said WAS FAIR GAME, unless she wanted to risk him spilling the secret of their breakup. her parents would be devastated. almost as devastated as luna was in that moment, feeling the control slip from her fingers. a feeling she FEARED.
her endearing gesture left him conflicted ( again ) but he disguised it with a generic smile that hid his contrasting emotions. this dinner could very well be the death of him, not that he would mind, since it was a petty entertaining way to die — blatantly lying to his ex-girlfriend’s parents as her hand lingered on his thigh. it was somewhat poetic… in a tasteless, twist of irony kind of way. “of course. more love than you can feel.” the double entendre slipped past his lips without much thought, the intensity of his words hanging in the air as he watched her shamelessly. he didn’t have to gauge her reaction to his prompt since it was written all over her face. her features contorted into an expression that he had grown all too familiar with toward the end of their relationship. “i’m having a little bit of fun.” he answered at a mirroring volume, a shrug encompassing his simple response. “you always used to love this kind of fun, luna. don’t tell me you’ve switched up on me — although, it wouldn’t come as a shock, considering you’ve been making all kinds of changes in the past few months.”

KOSTAS & JULIE
‘‘oh, oops. that must’ve slipped my brain, honey.’‘ she let out a sigh as she looked around. she had no idea how she had gotten herself into this mess, but, she somehow did. perhaps talking to her parents wasn’t one of her strongest suits but somehow she had forgotten to mention the fact that she had broken up with kostas. now, that wouldn’t make a very good impression on the important business associates her father had invited so perhaps, there was a part of her brain that had deliberately failed to mention the whole break up. she shifted uncomfortably in her chair and eventually reached for the glass of water in front of her, praying to God that this would actually help. she could feel the glance of him on her petite frame and that exactly didn’t help the whole situation, either. ‘‘excuse me.’‘ she excused herself before tugging on his shirt, almost dragging him to the kitchen, even the maid excused herself from the kitchen. ‘‘what the hell do you think you’re doing? you need to make them believe that we’re together, not some old, married couple that is expecting their second child. gosh, don’t you dare to humiliate me during this because those important people out there could be offering me an internship and i need it.’‘ julie commented as she reached for the white wine bottle, preparing to just shot it. it was probably the only way to survive this entire mess.
her hold on his shirt edged the verge of a death grip; he could practically hear the seams ripping from their rightful places with every step that neared him toward the kitchen. while he didn’t have much regard for the fate of the long-sleeve sweatshirt ( after all, what was a few hundred bucks? ), he still wanted to look presentable for the remainder of the dinner — because how could he play the role of a dapper boyfriend without looking dapper himself? “if you wanted to fuck in the pantry, all you had to do was say so. no need to drag me like a dog to obedience class.” a contempt smile met his lips as he spoke. “what the hell am i doing? i'm making YOU look good — and at no expenditure, i might add. what do you want me to do? share stories about us practically fucking in the club instead? or tell them all about the cute, scrunched-up face you make when you cum?” a supercilious finger stroked her chin for antagonizing emphasis. he could’ve lessened the extent of subtle mockery that came with his stories, but why would he? it was fun for him. “and don’t start that shit.” kostas reached for the bottle and held it behind him, keeping it out of her reach. “i can barely handle you now, i might not be able to stop myself from getting up and leaving once you get a few drinks in you.”

DIMITRI & AMARA
his words were like a harmonic symphony to the young femme’s ears, her entire being pleased to know that she wasn’t the ONLY one feeling that way. amara pushed a piece of dark hair behind her ear, glancing around at the ( over-crowded ) party. she was just itching to be alone with the male – and not just so she could feel him pressed up against her ( although she wasn’t opposed to that ); she wanted to get to know him, she wanted to talk about things that were IMPORTANT. not just mindless flirting and dodging of pronounced sexual tension. “do you, maybe, wanna go for a walk?” she asked, an eyebrow raising as she awaited an answer. sure it was cold and SNOWING, but everything looked so beautiful covered in white – and there was a coffee shop just down the road that they could warm up in if need be.
“are you sure you’re allowed?” he asked teasingly. “isn’t the best friend of the host supposed to play assistant all night? my brother might chastise me if i take you away.” regardless of his statement, dimitri extended his arm without a second thought. getting away from the excessively jovial music and vast sea of people would undoubtedly be a breath of fresh air, though the idea of being alone with amara ( fully clothed ) intimidated him slightly. there was a reasonable chance she would take a disliking to the person behind the suggestive quips and aggrandizing talk. after all, what altruism had he shown her? all she knew were small doses of him, maybe his entirety would be spurned. — shaking off his intrusive thoughts with a literal shrug, he led the two of them toward the door. “just in case you catch a cold tomorrow, remember that this was your idea.”

TALAN & EDEN
the brunette wasn’t use to people talking back to her, normally they would go along with what she said. “i beg to differ – in my experince if you put labels on things people go weird, sometimes even freak out and then everything just falls apart,” she replied her voice crip and clear, gently she placed the palm of her hand on his cheek, thumb lightly brushing over his cheekbone. “i’m happy with us how we are, i just don’t want that to change perhaps you could even say i am a little afraid,” she concluded her eyes finding his, eden could already tell he was going to be a bit of challenage for her, it almost drew her to him. “my world is messy and i’m not bringing you into that until you are positive this is what you want, once you’re in there is no going back.”
“so you’re already anticipating our collapse before we get even get together?” his tone was callous but compulsorily softened at her touch. “you know i want to be with you no matter what — i’ve been telling you that and i'm saying it again now, so what are you afraid of?” talan knew that a surrender was bound to happen if she continued to transfix him like the skilled hypnotist she had proven to be time after time, but he REFUSED to submit to her efficacy any longer. placing his hand over hers, he stroked her fingers before lifting her palm away. “i'm tired of these blurred lines. if we’re gonna keep doing this, then i want it to be definite. you’re either mine or you’re not. stop wasting my time, eden.”

KOSTAS & NADINE
“Ha!” she bellows, cheerfully, coupled witha wide grin, bearing teeth. “I can’t figure out how it escaped me,” she lies, expertly through red stained lips. It was hard enough to be around her fatherand her stepmother, forced to don a conservative white dress, and put on a showfor their guests. His ex-boyfriend had to be in attendance, at the behest ofher parents. Not quite too long ago, when it happened, Nadine failed to divulgethe fact of the breakup. She knew fully well how glad her father was that shefound a somewhat stable relationship, after a string of infamously tumultuous affairs often on numerous tabloids. Andhow charmed her stepmother was of him. She knew if she admitted to the truth, both of them would be disappointed. Nadine couldn’t bear that – not just yet. Andso she staged another one of her plays. “The whole anniversary weekend was soethereal. My, I still get butterflies in my stomach thinking about it. It was just unfortunate we couldn’t go kayaking because you were too afraid of the water.” She shrugged, looking at her parents with a pout. Sheleaned close to him, setting a hand over his, forging a look that betrayednothing but adoration. “I guess for our second we can fly to the FrenchRiviera. I’m sure Mom and Dad will be alright lending us the chateau. Imagine all the fun we’ll have,” she taunts, keeping her natural coquettish voice.
despite whether the beam she adorned was genuine or artificial, it ignited a faint spark of contentment within kostas, causing him to momentarily forget both the people and circumstance that had generated their reunion in the first place. it was ambivalent to know that months after their contentious breakup, she continued to have this effect on him with a single upturn of her lips — however, it was also admittedly disheartening that he was unsure of its authenticity. his bruised ego quickly recovered from its short-lived despair ( as always ) when he remembered that he was no longer a pawn in her chess game, but instead the last hope in her position of checkmate. she NEEDED him. “i think you may have had one glass too many, baby. i love water activities.” he surmised with a gentle smile before lowering his voice, his subsequent words being audible to her ears exclusively. “seeing you soaking wet is my favorite thing.” against his better judgment, he permitted her touch but left his hand immobile, evidently unwelcoming to the ingratiating maneuver. the honeyed words he could handle, the insincere expressions were no problem at all, the hushed jabs between compliments entertained him all night — but physical displays of affection were where he drew the silent line. it wasn’t so much about the tangibility itself as it was the fervors that came along with it, the short but austere tremors of nostalgia that ambushed him with memories. “i’ve never been, so i can only imagine how beautiful it looks — especially during this time of year. it’s a shame we’ll have to wait until august to visit.” an exaggerated frown lined his lips as he spoke, the harsh tone in his voice being unavoidable.

KOSTAS & LUNA
glancing between her parents and her ex boyfriend, luna had no choice but to play dumb. “oh, shit – i totally spaced on that, hun. thank you for reminding me.” she reaches over and caresses the young man’s face with her manicured nails, just so she didn’t seem COMPLETELY stupid. her mother gave a gentle reminder for the young femme to watch her language ( really, when did luna ever NOT use foul language ) before changing the subject. “is anyone ready for dessert? i made homemade apple pie, and a platter of chocolate chip cookies. i know how much of a sweet tooth you two tend to have.” the woman jokes with a wink, excusing herself from the table to go grab the platters of dessert. luna wanted nothing more than for this night to be over – she could have always told her parents the TRUTH. but what would they have said? wouldn’t they have shamed her like always? her parents wanted nothing more than for her to settle down. “kostas LOVES your cooking mother. he practically gushes about it all of the time –” she mused, giving an all-too-friendly smile over to kostas before resting her hand too comfortably on his thigh. “don’t you, babe?”
the mere contact of luna’s skin on his felt ELECTRIC, like each of her fingertips were producing enough energy to power their entire city — but kostas immediately forced himself to shake off the hex that she had placed him under. “guilty.” he reciprocated her plastic grin before covering her hand with his own. “i love it almost as much as i love you.” granted, he could have toned down the lovey-dovey bullshit that was spewing from his lips, but where was the fun in that? the dinner itself had been as palatable as always, but the idle conversations were nearing the brink of mind-numbing lethargy. at one point of the night, a part of him had even been tempted to unveil the actuality of the situation just to make the evening a little more eventful. but while he did leave the truth behind the curtain intact, his desire for entertainment begged to be liberated in way or another. “almost.” he reiterated with a mawkish squint as his thumb ran over her knuckles gently, seemingly coaxing them before he inched her hand closer to an area that she had once known all too well.
