Biro studies of a little woodcock I had the pleasure of meeting. Strangely, woodcocks’ ears are directly underneath their eyes!

Caper in the Castro is a legendary video game, not because legions of die-hard fans continue to play it, but because it was thought to be lost forever. Now, what is largely considered to be the first LGBTQ-focused video game (it was released in 1989) is on the Internet Archive for anybody to play.
The game is a noir point-and-click that puts the player in the (gum)shoes of a private detective named Tracker McDyke who is, in case you couldn’t guess by the name, a lesbian. McDyke must unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of Tessy LaFemme, a transgender woman, in San Francisco’s Castro district, an historically gay neighbourhood.
OOOOOHhh!
The game was released as charityware – freely, with a strong request to give a donation an AIDS Charity of their choice. I’d like to push towards still following that and donating, if you’re able.
(And you might also want to donate to the Internet Archive, who is hosting it now, while you’re at it – they’re in the middle of a donation drive, and could use your support.)

Hi! The links for purchasing Sacred Bodies aren't working. Is it not available anymore? I was really hoping to purchase a copy.
Hello,
Sacred Bodies was a digital release for the duration of SBCF'24. The fair has concluded and all the listings were taken down, so the links are all now dead.
I've been busy with personal life most of November and haven't had the time to make the comic available again. As per my pinned post, it will be available as a PDF and a physical copy later this month from my online store. I've been getting proofs from the printer to make sure the book is the quality I want it to be, so the process is taking a few weeks to sort out. Because it's taking longer than I intended, I'll make the PDF available sometime in the next few days, and the physical book will probably be available in the last week of November.

The piece I created for Dames, Fantasy Warriors earlier this year! My idea was a ghostly hellhound knight inspired by the tales of ghost dogs like Black Shuck

Anyway, I don’t just bring this up when I talk about Twilight, but I do bring it up every time I talk about Twilight:
Reminder that the Quileute tribe, whose sacred stories made author Stephanie Meyer a multi-millionaire, never received any money from the enormous success of the Twilight books or films.
Their entire community is located in a Tsunami disaster zone, in a region where a world-changing earthquake and tsunami are expected to hit perhaps within our lifetimes.
They should be set for life financially based on the use of their stories in Twilight. Instead, they have to publicly raise funds to move to higher ground and have been raising the same funds for years.
Anyone is encouraged to donate, but if you have personally purchased a physical or digital copy of any Twilight media or Twilight merchandise, I recommend matching the purchase with an equal donation to the Quileute People.
Recently, they successfully moved their school to higher ground! It was a major accomplishment to ensure Quileute children can learn in a safe environment! But there is still much to be done .
Statement from the Tribe (link to the source):
“Living in a tsunami zone at the edge of the Pacific Ocean, a catastrophic earthquake can wipe out our community in less than 10 minutes – an entire generation of the Quileute people will cease to exist.”
You can even set up a monthly donation. I don’t have much, but I’ve had a small monthly donation coming out of my PayPal for a few years now.
Many people don’t realize that the tribe didn’t profit off of Twilight, so I mention it whenever I bring up the series!
If you want to read more about how Twilight impacted the Quileute People, check out “The Truth vs. Twilight.”

hold on sorry you're telling me the name of the boat was "the terror"?? i always assumed that was a retroactive name! did they WANT things to go horrifically awry???
obsessed with the implication that nominative determinism could have saved them
