History of the brand... Louis Vuitton.
Key information to take away is that Louis Vuitton started the brand by doing luxury luggage, leading on to create the famous padlock still featured today...

Video editing settings
To make sure that the video content would be compatible to post on Instagram, I researched the correct settings.
864 x 1080 px
30.00 frames per second.
Exported as H.264
This is different for IGTV however, needing:
1080 x 1920 px

Story boarding ideas for the behind the scenes video...
During the shoot, videos were takin constantly of everything that was going on... then when we wrapped up the whole shoot, we took voice notes of Dianne answering questions on things from why she got into styling, to what the shoot was about.

The different skin types and conditions…
Normal - ‘Normal’ is a term widely used to refer to well-balanced skin. The scientific term for healthy skin is eudermic.
Dry - ‘Dry’ is used to describe a skin type that produces less sebum than normal skin. As a result of the lack of sebum, dry skin lacks the lipids that it needs to retain moisture and build a protective shield against external influences. (Xerosis)
Oily - ‘Oily’ is used to describe a skin type with heightened sebum production. An over production is known as seborrhea.
Combination - Combination skin is, as the name suggests, skin that consists of a mix of skin types. Combination skin is characterised by: an oily T-zone, enlarged pores in this area perhaps with some impurities, normal to dry cheeks
Sensitive - It can show up as: redness, itching, burning, dryness

One of the culprit in that used to be used in skin care is PARABENS, used since the 1950s to prolong shelf life. Brands now advertise that their products are ‘paraben free’ to seem more organic or better for the skin however there are still a lot more ingredients to consider.
This is still a step closer to better skin care products...

Competitor Research - Clinique ID
Tumblr media
Clinique launched a personalised moisturiser range called Clinique iD a customised hydration system.
‘Customisation equals inclusion’ - Julien Moignard, Clinique’s senior president of marketing.
First, you choose from one of the three hydrating bases — the Jelly, the Lotion, or the Oil — then you mix in one of the five active concentrate cartridges, each of which is formulated to address a specific skin concern. The cartridges are also sleekly designed to fit right inside the moisturizers and together they pump out a precise dose of product.

Competitor Research - The Ordinary
Tumblr media
The Ordinary is a skin  brand from DECIEM that focuses on providing simple chemical skin care products that are affordable which is ground breaking in itself as the industry is known to mislead customers into buying their products with pseudoscientific technology at high prices.
The Ordinary’s choice of it’s almost unbranded look is what makes this brand stand out. Although simple it’s design is sophisticated and intelligent with it’s chic pharmaceutical labelling. Although the labels and packaging are exactly the same for each product and are named after their chemical it conveys the brands honesty and let’s the ingredients speak for itself. The website follows the same identity clearly mapping out each product with simple descriptions and directions.

Bloggers and DIY Skin Care
Above are two examples of beauty influencers on social media who create content on DIY skin care remedies for anything to do with the skin and even hair. All of the ‘recipes’ they create are using all organic ingredients, which are mostly food and plants.
