Y'know, I'm surprised that the Destiny series isn't more popular on tumblr.

Like, it's got some following on here, and I know it's a big, loud, fast paced gun game which I get isn't everyone's vibe, but even if you literally never play the game and only read the lore online, it still has:

A hell of a lot of representation - I'm talking gender identities, ethnicities, sexualities, this game is full of representation

Honestly just some really great storytelling - the lorebook A Man With No Name is a personal favourite of mine

Himbos (looking at you, Saint)

Sugar daddies (Calus and the Winnower)

Guy with a british accent for the people who used to be obsessed with sherlock

Uldren Sov, an absolute soft boi

Saint and Osiris, who are literally just an old gay married couple

Eris Morn, a great (in my opinion) representation of trauma and grief (the end of the Memory of Sai Mota quest where the spirits start to leave but she tells them to stay and says she needs them is a good representation of unhealthy and self destructive coping mechanisms)

A redeemed villain who is now a very good lad (Mithrax)

A cool witch queen and her trans brother

A wise cracking rogue

Ghost, who is basically just a puppy dog if he was a robot birthed by god who gives you superpowers

Devs who really seem to care about not only making a great game, but also seem like great people irl (Bungie CEO was gassed at a BLM protest a couple of months ago)

Saint had never thought the sight of Osiris would strike dread into his heart. But there was something completely wrong with the sharp-soft-fluid outline of his gleaming helm, his cowl’s feathery tresses and the flowing robes. His posture remained as impeccable as always as he strode through the echoing Tower hangar. Yet something troubled the lines of him. It was as if each exposed surface were on the verge of collapsing inward on a vacuum, and the only thing preventing it was the sheer force of his considerable will. Saint had never seen him like this. A cold feeling ran through his body as if injected directly into the ducts of his circulatory ichor.

“Osiris,” he whispered, even though they were not yet within earshot. Saint trotted out on restless feet from the shadow of the Gray Pigeon to meet him. They drew together at the end of the long sun-emblazoned rug that sprawled before his ship. Saint could not help but begin to reach for Osiris, but he stopped when he saw the man’s unresponsive stiffness.

“Hello, Saint,” he said shortly. He crossed his arms. Only a stripe of his upper face showed between his helm and his mask. The lines around his eyes had gone flat and the ones between his brows had deepened.

“What is wrong?”

“Take your pick. This time? The Hive.”

“No. What is wrong?”

Every year the Metropolitan Museum of Art throws a big fancy fashion party with a theme seemingly picked solely for the ASTOUNDING potential to dazzle, and every year 90% of the attendees fail to clear even the most minimum of bars. This is one of those years, because it is every year.
