anyone else think about the weird observation that as the series progresses and the delightfuls keep losing every mission against V they just? become more aggressive and hostile? and all in vain to get approval from a father figure that doesnt give an ounce of a care for them? its ultimately really realistic and painful.

and i feel one thing that a lot of ppl dont like i guess particularity mention (at least from what ive seen) is that there's tons of themes of isolation and loneliness from them and paralleling with nigel...i really wish that cancelled ep of nigel losing his hair WAS aired and wasn't removed for whatever reason. (or at least reused into an idea, i know there mightve been plans of using it for a movie but my knd knowledge is Rusty as heck)...like the only mention of it being in passing during fountain isnt enough to hit the mark on what both their arcs say to me. at least imo.

like. the weight of why they became so increasingly like. desperate for the attention and approval of others is insanely sad. so yeah censorship is def at play here cuz thats Way Too Real. but also, i feel it mightve been cool if we got at least some on-screen explanation beyond "they made me bald" like? it plays it off as a big joke, but it's essentially a huge plot point to explain why nigel and the dcfdtl are just. personally rivals (alongside implications of abby and maybe even cree getting involved)..sigh. so much potential only for it to be given MORE potential with the lore of the zero movie. like.

what do you MEAN they're sector z and "no one questioned/talked about it because it's too sad"??? that's. crazy to me. (like? realistic but. come on...)

also the idea that the dcfdtl are entirely perfect foils for V until post-season 1 where they start frequently losing more and more and becoming less of a threat to the knd and essentially just kinda removed as villains entirely. (which is a good thing for them cuz uh Yeah) and then even more than foils with the reveal of Z.

i have WAYYY too many thoughts on this. but! i will continue to potentially think on this and maybe elaborate better another time. this was just to write some notes down :p

Shout out to the little girl at my store today who had a shirt that said "skeleton mouse" and she was carrying around a plushie of a rat, had hair clips in her hair that had rats on them, and a necklace with a rodent skull on it.

As I was checking her mother out at the register she pulled out a handful of rubber rats from her pocket and put them on my counter, to which her mother sighed and said "no sweetie, he doesn't need rats" to which I just looked at her like this
