The next in line of our 16 guest prompts is SPECIFICITY from Katie Huttlestone over at @katiehauthor on Instagram.
Whatever Specificity conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
Katie sent in her own definition:
“My definition- 'The quality in writing, of being specific' I love the sound of this word, with its hissing sibilant, snuggled up against open vowel sounds. I love the feel of all five consonants in my mouth, and what it means for my writing. To look closely at the minutiae of our lived experiences and weaving them into prose.”

The next in line of our 16 guest prompts is PHOTOGRAPH from Geoff over at @geoffmphotography on Instagram.
Whatever Photograph conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
Geoff explains:
“My Word is 'Photograph': Social media trivialises photography but it is so much more than that. What photography is really about is adventure and experience and memory. Take time to really look at photographs old and new; the lives of others. If there are people in a picture from all around the world then they each have a story to be imagined and retold.”

Our 16 days of Scribbling is now over on Instagram, this is a good word to mark the occasion. However, here on Tumblr we are still going! Find the finished 16 Words on Instagram at both @rachael_scribbles and @scribbles_artists for writing and art respectively.
The next in line of our 16 guest prompts is MELANCHOLY from Karis over at @iammadeofsoilandstars on Instagram.
Whatever Melancholy conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
Karis offered us this snippet when choosing the word:
“"A feeling of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause" You may think this is an odd choice of favourite word, but I think it is beautiful. It is poetic and melodic and reminds me of an almost dream like longing for something. Its an ache, deep within you to get back to a time, a place, a person or a feeling. A wish to be reconnected and reminded of what once was.”

Our 16 days of Scribbling is nicely underway over on Instagram at both @rachael_scribbles and @scribbles_artists for writing and art respectively.
This prompt comes from myself and I was inspired by the changing of my health and energy levels due to my disability. My word is MOMENTUM and you can find my instagram at @sidnea.rohbyn full of poems and digital drawings from all the past prompts of this 16 Words series (including the future ones which I haven’t yet released on Tumblr).
Whatever Momentum conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
Here’s my explanation of why I chose “momentum”:
“Momentum is a word that means a lot to me; it’s an ebb and flow of activity. The momentum of creativity, then the momentum of my recovery. And I just realised that turned into a poem!”

Our 16 days of Scribbling is nicely underway over on Instagram at both @rachael_scribbles and @scribbles_artists for writing and art respectively.
This one comes from Scribbles founder, Rachael, herself and she has chosen MERAKI.
Whatever Meraki conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
If you’re not familiar with this word, Rachael explains it here:
“Meraki, μεράκι, literally means "essence of ourselves". The actual translation represents a concept that cannot be translated in one word but it means "something done with one's soul, with creativity, effort and a lot of love".”

The next in line of our 16 guest prompts is PARADISE from Euan Thum over at @poeteuanthum on Instagram.
Whatever Paradise conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
Euan expanded further:
“I really like the word 'Paradise' recently. I think paradise is often referred to as a literal location. But what if instead of a location, it is a state of mind where you can be totally honest with yourself, and BE YOURSELF? That's what the word paradise means to me. So feel free to ponder, how do you reach your paradise? Who would be there with you?”

The next in line of our 16 guest prompts is FRANGIPANI from Ruth over at @ruthrosengarten on Instagram.
Whatever Frangipani conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
Ruth explained the reasoning behind choosing this word:
"A favoured rather than the favourite (so many) - FRANGIPANI - carries a scent with it, but also the frictive, FRiction, FRazzle, FRinge, it brings along something explosive containing something rounder and more doughy - pani, bread, pain.... a word full of sound and fragrance associations."

The next in line of our 16 guest prompts is ACTUALLY from Melanie Martin over at @melmartinphoto on Instagram and also here on Tumblr!
Whatever Pressure conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
"Pronouncing the word gives you a sensation of what it feels like. Hearing the word is a rush. It alerts. You can be pressed for something, and if you're unsure of yourself or your capabilities you can unravel, but it can also bring out the best in someone and ultimately leave them reassured about themselves."

The first of our 16 guest prompts is EVOCATIVE from Gaenor over at @gaenor_dup_67 on Instagram.
Whatever Evocative conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
Gaenor offered us this snippet when choosing the word:
"I suspect I use the concept in all of my writings, to bring a sense of feeling to kick you in your gut per se. I like to feel all of everything, perhaps as a way to release negative energy that comes from the day to day humdrum.”

Next in line of our 16 guest prompts is HIRAETH from Helen over at @prompted.by.nature on Instagram.
Whatever Hiraeth conjures in your mind; write it or art it!
Hellen sent in this explanation of the word hiraeth:
"Hiraeth is a Welsh with no literal English translation (which makes me love it even more!) but that roughly means a combination of homesickness, yearning and longing. One definition I’ve read puts it as ‘longing to be where your spirit lives,’ which sends trembles down the spine of the romantic part of me that I try to hide.”
Please consider buying a copy of our journal, we worked so hard on it! There’s also raffle happening at the moment in the link above, check out our promo videos in my older posts on this account to learn more about it!
