My friend is in the hospital with two partially collapsed lungs and a blood clot. I spent yesterday visiting him several times and bringing him stuff while he was waiting for a room to open up and to be admitted to the hospital. A room opened up for him like 15 minutes after I left around 11pm so I’m stoked that he got a room after spending almost 2 days in the ER.

I cracked so many jokes about his situation and he found them all hilarious. Here are some of them

Hey, at least if you have to have surgery you are guaranteed a room!

Your lungs seem to be trying to hunt you for sport. Maybe once you get a lung transplant you should see if you can keep them, get them preserved in resin, then have them mounted and say that you finally hunted your lungs for sport. (This was a favorite of his and he actually wants to do it now)

*friend, mildly dying from laughter* I’m sorry to be so funny but I’m partaking in a time honored tradition of my family where we make the person in the hospital bed crack up even when it hurts. (Having had this done to me so many times after abdominal surgery I think it’s funny and he did too)
