I'm putting together several NHL Team inspired Pokemon Teams in Violet version basically one Pokemon for each team in the league. Some are going to be very straight forward: example Empoleon representing the Penguins, Persian representing the Panthers, and Tentacruel representing the Kraken. Some are going to be a little less straight forward but still fitting for example Braviary representing the Capitals, Dondozo representing the Canucks, Zebstrika representing the Lightning. And others I have no fucking clue how to represent like the Canadiens, Senators, Rangers, and Islanders.

Every single time I read a new stat about Jim Montgomery's time as the Bruin's head coach it makes me want to punt Sweeney and Neely into the Charles River during the coldest night of the year even more.
The Bruins had just 41 regulation losses in 184 games. That is a losing percentage of just .223. THE BRUINS EARNED POINTS IN 71.5% OF THE GAMES THEY PLAYED UNDER HIM. That is NOT a fire the head coach to light a fire under the players' asses scenario, that's a you start asking key players if they'd be willing to waive their no-move and no-trades to light a fire under their asses scenario.

So yeah, my thoughts on the Jim Montgomery firing (yes, I'm a day late but I have laryngitis and wasn't feeling well yesterday):
The Bruins need to part ways with Sweeney and Neely before things really start getting out of hand. Firing a coach not even two seasons after the team he coached smashed the NHL's regular season wins record? I feel like there were better ways to try and sort out the funk the Bruins were in besides firing a very successful coach like 6 weeks into an 82 game season. I feel like other coaches were given significantly more benefit of the doubt than the last two Bruins coaches (*coughClaudeJuliencough* sorry like I said I'm currently dealing with laryngitis). Bruce Cassidy was fired for no apparent reason after several successful seasons where the Bruins made the playoffs and even the Cup Final. Then to add salt to that management misstep induced wound, the team that picked up Cassidy would win the Stanley Cup that season. Which is a stark contrast to how Julien wasn't fired until the Bruins had missed the playoffs in two consecutive seasons and were at risk of missing them for a third (which likely has something to do with how he coached the Bruins to a Stanley Cup in 2011 because of course it does). Will firing a seemingly well-liked coach barely 20 games into the season be the wake-up call the team needs? Possibly, but it could also have the opposite affect and demoralize the team into playing even worse. Then what Neely-boy? Then what?
But alas, you know the team isn't going to part with Neely and Sweeney until the Bruins have been swimming the in the bottom of the Atlantic with the Titanic for a few consecutive seasons. Because of the whole "BuT tHeY'rE fOrMeR pLaYeRs" bias bullshit.

I look at it this way, orange fuck face is old, and likely not in good physical health (why else would he refuse to share his health records?), how much longer is he going to live for? Five years? Ten maximum? Most of us will outlive him by decades. So let's outlive the bastard, out of pure spite if we must.

I keep telling myself I'm going to get through whatever happens purely out of spite. I'm also never standing for the National Anthem again. When I go to hockey games from now on I'll make sure I'm in the bathroom taking the biggest messiest shit I can manage while the Anthem plays.
