In the afternoon of April 7th, 1980, two of our observers came into contact with an enemy outside of town. Lily J. Potter was caught in the crossfire and unfortunately died after sustaining fatal injuries. With this announcement, we also welcome Harry James Potter into the world and congratulate his father, James Potter, on the arrival of a beautiful baby boy. 

In immediate effect we ask that observers report to their posts and remain inside the barrier to the town, for their own safety and everyone else's. 

Our most sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of Lily J Potter, may she rest well.

Super sorry if this is a bother, but do you have any banned FCs?

Hi, anon! It’s not a bother at all. We do not have a list of banned FCs at the moment, for we figured it would be easier to review them on a case-by-case basis. Generally, we stick by a few rules when it comes to FCs:&nbsp

No deceased face claims.

No models, no reality stars, no singers, etc. (unless they happen to have a decent amount of resources that you can use).

No one who has said they do not want to be used. 

In addition to this, we also ask that you refrain from using FCs who are deemed highly problematic. We understand that this definition can differ from person to person, and not everybody is perfect, but we simply want our potential members to consider how the FC might affect others in the roleplay before they send in an application. We haven’t yet had an issue in regards to FCs thus far, but should this become a problem, then we will address it within the rules or faq for further reference. Thank you for asking!

Task 002: Below the cut you will find a list of the requirements for this task. All of our tasks are optional, meaning if you don’t want to do them you don’t have to. Additionally, you may do the tasks whenever you please -- there is no time limit for completion

For this task you will have to: 

Create a playlist with songs that relate to your muse. 

The theme can be anything from their family, their upbringing, their personality or situations they’ve been through.

The songs do not have to be from the time period the roleplay is based in.

Additionally, the songs you use don’t have to be songs your character would like/listen to, they just have to relate to your character in some way. 

There must be a minimum of 6 songs.

hello! who could you see as andromeda? and is she still really wanted?

Hello! We would still definitely love to see Andromeda taken! As far as faceclaims go, we could see her as any of the following: Gemma Arterton, Jessica Brown-Findley, Felicity Jones, Jessica Stroup, Alicia Vikander, Emmy Rossum, Troian Bellisario, Lyndsy Fonseca, Sonequa Martin, Aja Naomi King, and Antonia Thomas.

would you allow characters that went to schools other than hogwarts?

We certainly would. If you would like to apply for a character from another school, simply replaced the Hogwart’s House section of the application with the school and/or school house of your chosen wizarding school. So, for instance, SLYTHERIN would become ILVERMORNY or WAMPUS if you character was from Ilvermorny. Likewise with other schools. Which you choose is up to you and should dictate your characters allegiance within that school. Hope that helps, anon!

could we apply for someone who isn't a member or prisoner, but more like a resident of the town?

As far as wizards go, we would ideally like them to be aligned in some degree to either cause. The degree in which your character believes in the cause can vary and fluctuate throughout their time in the town, of course. However, should you have a specific idea for the character that requires a lack of alignment, then we would be willing to talk it through off anon and see how it could work in the grander scheme of things. So, we’d love for you to shoot us a message about it!

As for a resident of the town who is a muggle or a squib, then we would love to see some! We have an application for them that we can send you privately. We will update the application page with this shortly, as well.

It's difficult to be inclusive if no one includes you. I've been a member almost two weeks and have replied to open starters in an attempt to feel part of the group and only ever get replies from one person.

We are sorry you are feeling this way, and this is the main reason we made our most recent post, as well as being contacted by other concerned members. We can see that there are starters in the tags with only a few notes, and that there have been a lot of closed starters on the dash of late. We have just finished an event and a plot drop, so we are hoping that this will change since things should have calmed down. This should mean that there is more varied interaction among characters, rather than plot-specific interaction. We love that our members are plotting, but we want to make sure that they’re opening these ideas up for other members as well.

Our post was not directed at anyone in particular but rather was a reminder for the whole group. Because, we are not overly concerned about it at the moment, but acknowledged that a problem could develop if we didn’t comment on it. All we can encourage members to do is to keep replying to starters, to post their own, and to contact other members about plotting. This is the simplest way to ensure that everyone is interacting with everyone.

If any of our members have any issues, especially after we have addressed this, please do not be afraid to message the main. Above everything, we want our members to feel welcome and comfortable in this roleplay.

is it possible that a prisoner would be able to use wandless magic?

While it is definitely possible in Harry Potter canon, for the purposes of this roleplay we are going to say no. If you have a specific plot you would like to flesh out with wandless magic, then we would be happy to talk about it (though this doesn’t guarantee anything). Wandless magic is not all that common with only a few wizards known to practice it, and it can only be achieved by powerful and dedicated wizards. We would not want this to be abused in any way.

The invasion of the town came as a surprise to the Order. They were not prepared. Thankfully, the arrival included only a handfull of Death Eaters. The Order are happy to say that these Death Eaters have now been detained, and in the worst case scenario, have been killed. A greater effort to keep the town safe from threats in the future will be made, with an increase in Observers and Guards. The Order are encouraging residents to keep their wands with them at all times in order to avoid the unforgiving circumstances that occurred, and would like to apologise to all those injured in the cross-fire. Efforts are being made to ensure those injured get the help and treatment they deserve. Prisoners will be under more vigorous watch, to ensure nothing like this happens again and guards will be required to be more vigilant, keeping a watchful eye on their assigned prisoners 24/7. Mishaps like these cannot be tolerated. In the event of another invasion, everyone is required to get into groups and run to the nearest public building for safety. Portharne will be under strict guard for the time being. Please ensure you do not panic and do not leave the town, for we fear the surrounding areas are no longer safe, and thus until a perimeter check is conducted, we cannot allow any residents outside of the town.

i feel somewhat dumb asking this, but i don't see an admin page? so i'm wondering who is an admin around here and which characters/mascots the admins have?

It’s not a dumb question at all, and we appreciate you asking. However, we likely won’t be adding an admin page, as we’ve decided to remain anonymous as admins. We’ve found this approach helps to keep everything admin-related on the main, and avoids admin issues pouring into our characters. I hope you understand! 

Having said that, there are three admins that run the main at the moment, and our mascots are Camila Mendes, Shay Mitchell, and Emma Watson.

How active is this rpg?

Like all roleplays we have our active days and our inactive days – our ups and our downs. Our biggest bout of activity often comes during the evening. But, even on the quieter days there is almost always someone around to interact with. Overall, we’re quite happy with the activity of our members, and it’s only getting better! And, of course, the more members we have, the better activity will be on the whole!

Residents of Portharne were able to relax for once as fireworks littered the air -- the intricate designs stark against the night sky, leaving the watchers in an utter state of awe. The beauty was almost too distracting, but no one could miss the grungy green smoke that mixed with the grey clouds. A skull had appeared, and in that very same moment a shrill scream broke through the sound of the fireworks and struck fear into the hearts of the residents. What was usually a fantastic end to a wonderful week long festival became a terrifying revelation. They were not safe. 

People ran from their place at the river, while others remained frozen in place. The terror on their faces indisputable. They knew who was coming. Gathering their loved ones, they sought for shelter as best they could. But another scream erupted from the centre of town, and rushing to help all the Order members saw was her body hitting the floor with a lifeless thud. It had started, and how long they had was uncertain. But the Order needed to move fast, or there would be nothing and no one left in Portharne.

This plot drop marks the beginning of chaos in Portharne. Your characters may react to the plot drop in any way they see fit, whether this is looking for cover, seeking to help loved ones, or fighting the intruders themselves -- anything goes. Please make sure, however, to run any significant plots by admins. This includes serious injury and/or death of your characters, attempted and successful escaping or fleeing of Portharne, and any use of the intruding Death Eaters for purposes such as injuring them and/or killing them. We simply ask this so we can fit your plots into our overarching ideas for the future of the plot drop, and by no means want to limit your roleplaying experiences. Thank you.

It’s that time of year again. You’re surrounded by burnt orange leaves falling from the trees above, the chilled wind nipping at your skin, and the smell of pumpkin spice in the air. It is mid-Autumn. In Portharne, that can only mean one thing: the return of the annual Autumn festival. It’s hard to escape the scent of savoury pastries lingering in the town centre, and the laughter from the apple dunking contest. If you’re looking for a place to wind down and release all the tension from your shoulders, then there is no other place to be.

The festival will begin on October 22nd until November 5th. Attendee’s are encouraged to dress up for the occasion, but save the best costume until last because on October 31st there will be a costume contest, with prizes for first, second, and third place. Festivities will end with wonderful display of fireworks in the evening of the 5th, near the edge of the river, accompanied by a large bonfire.

Stall 005;; Halloween Stall - Late getting your decorations ready? Then this stall is for you. Everything from house decorations, to last-minute costumes.

Stall 006;; Tuck shop - Can’t wait until October 31st to satisfy your sweet tooth, or even stocking up for the frightful day? Then you’ve come to the right place.
