I’m glad to be getting back onto a stage, I think it’ll help me move forward with finishing my album, especially since I have deadlines fast approaching. And I don’t know how you could do that, I’ve listened to it so many times the whole song sounds ridiculous to me at this point.

I’m excited to say

That after a lot of talk with the Berry men that I’ll be returning to Ame Cerise on a biweekly basis as the performer a few times a week. They’ve worked out a great deal with my record company and I’ll even have a little merch table set up every day where you’re all more than welcome to scan the silly things I’ve come up with. My first gig back is next Wednesday so I hope to see some of you there!

And okay, shoot. I’m not going to disagree. You’ve been sadder than usual lately and if talking to someone can maybe help you more than I can or your parents can then maybe it’s a good idea, S. I don’t think you’re crazy, I just think you’re a little lost right now.

Well I’ll keep putting bugs in their ear, or however that expression goes. One of us will break them eventually.

Anyway, there’s something I wanna run by you. It’s not the burlesque thing again, though I do wanna keep that on the table. I just need to get other things sorted first. My mom seems to think I might need to start talking to someone besides her. Like a licensed someone. She thinks I might have some sort of suppression problem, or depression, I don’t know. Basically, she and my dad think I’m crazy.

You’ve gotta spend money to make money, and since hardly anyone comes to open mic nights anymore, I don’t know why adding more live entertainment and dropping that night would make much difference.

Me being considered for anything is already exciting, though I know it’s up to me and marketing myself right for any of that to ever happen.

I understand, I didn’t really think about that entirely, I appreciate you speaking with them in general, I am considering Blaine’s offer most heavily, though, I think, money wise for Santana and I since I would be getting a job on top of a gig.

That’s where I’m stuck right now, I don’t have an audience to try songs out to, or the opportunity to be around as many artists as I was when I was going around to open mics and other venues, so it’s stifling. I’ve a writers block of sorts going on because of it, which sucks when everyone’s telling me I need to be writing.

Even if you were opening that would still be exciting! And certainly a way to reach the fanbase of other, similar artists that wouldn’t necessarily take a risk on someone they didn’t recognize. 

I mentioned it to my dads and they would like to talk to you more privately – I shouldn’t actually be the go-between for the remainder of this discussion, both personally but also more to the point, legally. I do hope that you find something, whether it’s with them or via some other avenue.

Because as much as I do understand that they want a full album from you, and don’t necessarily want to take a risk, that doesn’t help you at all.  I know exactly how frustrating it is not being able to perform when that’s what you really want to be doing, or feeling like your creative energy just doesn’t have the outlet that it needs.

Whatever, it looks like Sam and Rachel have got you. Thank God they suggested Ame Cerise, because your wife is far too wrapped up in herself to think of that.

True. The sooner I have an album, the sooner I’m on stage. I sing and play, mostly piano.

Studio time could possibly lead to more stage and/or tour time, though, yes? What is it you do? Sing.. play?

You know what? Give me a week to talk it over with all my people and I’ll give it some real consideration.

You’re not asking me, I’m offering. I’ve applied for a full time position at the Goodman Theatre once my internship is up at the end of the semester. And I’m pretty sure I’m getting hired. You’d take over a managerial position at the club and headline and make your own schedule. Of course if you didn’t want to be a manager I could put someone else in that position, but I’m going to be stepping down regardless.

It’s only a suggestion, though. If you’d like to mull it over, by all means. I’m going to be looking for someone to take over for me by end of the year. If you want it, it’s yours.
