And it holds from June to August. -ACTIVITIES Activities in Dubai abound being that Dubai being a tourist hub, it’s only fitting that the city of Dubai has lots of activities for different occasions, which ranges from Adventure, Romantic, Nightlife, Shopping to Theme Parks etc.If you and your family are looking for activities to do in Dubai during your trip, check out our list of the best attractions:   Go Shopping In Dubai: Dubai is known as the “shopping capital of the Middle East”, with more than 70 shopping centers, including the world’s largest shopping center, Dubai mall which houses more than 1,300 stores, a trip to the mall might just be a way to exercise one’s credit card, even if you aren’t interested in buying anything, a visit to this immense retail center is a must: the Dubai mall also contains numerous entertainment facilities, such as an ice rink, a movie theatre and several kid-friendly attractions, including an aquarium that houses thousands of underwater creatures.  You don’t have to pay to wander about, but certain attractions in the mall will charge admission. Other malls in Dubai include: Mall of the Emirates, Burjuman, Diera City Center, Marina Mall, Dubai Festival City, WAFI, or Mercato Mall etc.  Visit The Burj Al Arab: Website The Burj Al Arab is a luxury hotel located in Dubai, it’s the third tallest hotel in the world, which stands on an artificial island which is connected to the mainland by a private curing bridge, the stunning building which was opened in 1999, has marveled spectators by its architecture. The hotel also houses the world tallest lobby at nearly 600ft high, the resort also contains revolving beds in some suites, as well as a helipad. But you don’t have to stay at the Burj Al Arab to enjoy it (and let’s face it most can’t, with the Royal Suite billed at $24,000 per night). If you aren’t staying at the hotel you can gain entry by grabbing a bite at one of the restaurants in the building. Among which includes Nathan Outlaw at Al Mahara located on the ground floor, it features a large indoor seawater aquarium, and also the Al Muntaha which is on the 27th floor and offers a spectacular view of Dubai, it is accessed by a panoramic elevator. The tower restaurants are opened at any time of the day for visitors, although you should make reservations first. The interior and exterior of the Burj Al Arab is breathtaking, that’s why we recommend that if you have the money, stay for at least a night.  Visit The Burj Khalifa: Website We don’t recommend doing it like Tom Cruise did in “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” however the Burj Khalifa (Khalifa Towers) is a crucial item on any Dubai agenda. Rising 2,722 feet above the city with about a 163 floors the tower holds the title of “world’s tallest building.” But that’s not the only title the Burj Khalifa holds, it also the tallest free-standing structure, world’s highest nightclub (144th floor)for those who love to party in the sky, world’s highest restaurant (122nd floor) for those who would like to dine while enjoying the breathtaking view of Dubai, it is also home to the highest outdoor observation deck in the world. That means gorgeous views. Visitors are allowed to ride the elevator (which holds the title for world’s longest travel distance elevators) to the 124th floor for breathtaking views. Special telescopes also show scenes of the city from different point in time, allowing you to experience every point of Dubai’s history. You can also travel higher to the 148th floor, the world’s highest observation deck, which will cost extra. You can visit the observation deck from 8:30a.m to 10p.m daily, the best time however to visit the tower should be around sunset, because the spectacular views will make up for the wait to the top. And admission prices depends on the time you go, but general admission during off-peak hours is AED135 (around $37) for adults and AED100 (roughly $27) for children ages 4-12. To get to the 148th floor, tickets pricing starts at AED370 (about $100) for both adults and children. Click Here To Book Your Tickets Now!  Visit The Jumeirah Beach: Taking a day out to relax in Dubai’s best strip of public sand should be a part of any traveler’s itinerary.Taking out time to visit this lively shoreline to revel in Dubai’s bright rays, while enjoying the calm water of the Persian Gulf. The beach also has a children’s playground and plenty of barbecue and picnic areas. Before hitting the beach make sure you go with bottle water and sunscreen. During the middle of the day, the heat increases and you would want to seek protection to avoid dehydration or sun burn. The beach can be reached from Jumeriah road and is open from 7a.m to 11p.m depending on the day. Access to the beach is free.  Visit Dubai’s Gold Souks: Dubai Gold Souk is a traditional market located in the heart of Dubai’ commercial business district, the souks, features glittering displays of necklaces, bracelets and earrings from more than 300 retailers, it’s one of the most renowned gold jewelry trading centers in the world. With more than 20% of world gold passing through the market. The souks also sell platinum, diamonds and silver. The government controls what is sold in the market so you don’t have to worry, thinking what you bought is counterfeit. Bargaining when given a price is a way to get the best out of every deal, because vendors tend to set the prices high. Even if you aren’t buying anything I’ll suggest you take a trip to the market for its cultural value and beauty. Most vendors are open every day between 10a.m and 10p.m, and you don’t have to pay to peruse, but if you are interested in buying make sure you’re carrying some cash as credit cards are not widely accepted. You can reach the souk by taking the Dubai Metro to Al Ghubaiba and a regular boat from nearby Bur Dubai across the creek.  Visit Ski Dubai: Website Despite the sizzling heat of Dubai, the city hosts a massive indoor winter wonderland known as Ski Dubai, which is the largest indoor snow park in the world with an 85m high indoor mountain (equivalent to 25 stories high building) and 5 ski slopes of varying steepness and difficulty, the Ski Dubai also boasts of a freestyle snowboard zone, chairlifts for carrying skiers and snowboarders up the mountain, worlds first indoor black run and an adjoining Snow Park play area comprising sled and toboggan runs, an icy body slide, climbing towers, giant snowballs and an ice cave as well as a penguin colony ski lessons are also available. The Ski Dubai is a part of the Mall of Emirates and its open every day from 9a.m to 11p.m or midnight. Various activities are available for different price points. Especially in summer – but even winter in Dubai is hot….that’s why we advise to wear bright, and light clothes mostly made from cotton. It can get chilly in the evenings (at least in winter), so some warmer jackets should be on your list. But before we say too much, better check our list. - Hats, Sunglasses and Sunscreen (to prevent sunburns). - Linen Trousers. - Skirts (some long skirts should be on your lists, as some malls don’t allow too short skirts). - Tops (tops that are easy to change and are made from cotton and light materials). - Blouses (blouses should be on your list as some places do not allow naked arms, or for winters). - Shorts (they are ok for most places especially the beaches). - Cardigans and Jackets (it can actually get chilly in Dubai – usually after sunsets. In winter). - Footwear (such as flat sandals, shoes, and flip flops for beach, pool use or at the waterpark). - Swimsuits (for the beach or pool). - Underwear’s (pack extra as clothing take longer to dry because of humidity). *Gears: Here are some gears needed when packing for Dubai. - Phone. - Camera (for capturing wonderful moments). - Power Charger (for phones and camera). - International Power Adapter. * You should also pack Moisturizer and Lip balm as Dubai is super dry. TIPS TO NOTE: *When booking flights or hotels it is advised you book 3-6months early as you get the best price. *Be careful when you consume alcohol, because public drunkenness and drinking in public is prohibited, to buy alcohol you’ll need a permit and you have to buy it from an establishment that has a license. However purchasing drinks at a bar or restaurant is no problem, just don’t leave drunk. *Stay away from PDA, public displays of affection are very offensive in the UAE. Many Dubai visitors have been arrested and imprisoned for showing PDA. To be on the safe side refrain from kissing your significant other while in public. CONCLUSION So there you have it. Get Started Now. Plan Your Next Trip To Kruger National Park For A Date With The Wild. ďż˝
Tumblr media
Website Well if you fancy a bit of wildlife & nature then the Kruger national park is a must visit for you, being the largest game reserve in South Africa with an area of 20,000km2(about 6x the size of Lagos). from being the home of Africa’s Big 5: African lions, African leopards, rhinos, African elephants, and Cape buffalos, to offering some of the most enticing views comprising of the waterfalls, rainforest and gorges, so whether you want a safari honeymoon in South Africa, a memorable family vacation or explore the land of the wild solo, then Kruger is the place for you. But here are some important information to note before you plan that trip: -WHEN TO VISIT. Temperature-wise the Kruger National Park has a Sub-tropical climate, which means hot and humid summer and mild winters. The best time to visit the Kruger however would be between April - September which are the dry months that makes for great game viewing in Kruger. While from October – March the Kruger experiences sub-tropical rainfalls which brings full waterholes, lush bushveld, many newborn wildlife and the summer migrant birds arrive. So whatever time you decide to visit the Kruger National Park – you will not be disappointed! -ACTIVITIES. The Kruger National Park is all about spending unforgettable moments in vast expanse of the massive park, untarnished and untouched by civilization. So if you are a sucker for wildlife and nature, there’s a lot for you to explore and experience, from Hiking, safari tours, river and bush walk, camping, sightseeing tours and spotting the Big 5. Here are some of the popular activities you can engage in while in the Kruger National Park. • Game Drives: The game drives is part of what Kruger National park is all about, it involves venturing out on the back of an off-road vehicle, with your binoculars clutched in one hand whilst the other hangs on for all you’re worth to the constantly rolling vehicle as it makes its way through the bush in hot pursuit of the latest pride of lions, sighted feeding on a kill just over the rise, it could be early in the morning, mid-morning or sunset. The drives last around 3hrs, and private lodges and game farms usually include a coffee break, breakfast or sundowners in the bush as part of the game drive experience. • Bush Walk: Nothing beats the thrilling excitement of tracking rhino, elephant and lion on foot through the heat of the bush, it’s also one of the most incredible ways to learn about the fragility of the ecosystems of the Kruger Park and to see the smaller, animals and insects of the park like termites, spiders (if you are frightened by them I’ll advice you avoid the bush walk in the month of February they are literally everywhere!), snakes and plants that tend to be ignored when on the more fast paced game drives. The walks can last up to 5hrs and stops are made to allow replenishment, it is advisable to take your own snacks, and most of the camps do morning and afternoon walks. • Wilderness Trail: There are a few incredible wilderness trails in the Kruger National Park, some in areas virtually untouched by humans like: Metsi-Metsi, Bushmans Wilderness Trail, Nyalaland, Napi Wilderness Trail, Wolhuter and the Sweni Wilderness. Most of these trails are overnights in rustic huts with basic bathing in reed-walled showers and flush toilets. But it is the luxurious privately-run game lodges that steals the show when staying in the Kruger National Park, as a trip is transformed into something more like an experience, with your every need catered for and luxury is not spared. All this while in the wild heart of Africa. -ESSENTIALS AT THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK When planning to visit the Kruger National Park there are a few things that one should pack: * Clothing’s: when packing choose neutral tones and light fabrics, preferably cotton, these fabrics work best in hot climate. And also consider packing light, pack about 3 t-shirt and 3 pairs of shorts. Do not pack white shirts because of the dusts and they make you visible to the animals, also avoid red because they attract animals, and in areas where Tsetse flies are prone avoid blue and black. Here's the "musthaves" to pack for your safari: - T-shirt, shirt or blouse (long sleeves or turtleneck to help protect from the sun and mosquitos). - Shorts. -Fleece or warm jacket. -A pair of safari trousers (khakis or similar) 1 casual skirt for women. -Comfortable walking shoes (or boots) and socks. -Hat or Cap (to protect your face from the sun/dust). -Bandanna or cotton scarf. -Maybe a pair of open sports sandals for general daytime use in warmer month. -Flip flops or similar for pool or in-room use. -Swimsuit. -A casual outfit for dinner. - Sleep wear. -And of course your under garments. * Gears: Besides your usual electronics, a power strip from home is essential so you can plug that into the camp or lodge outlet to charge all of your items at one time. -Remember all of your electronics, camera, extra memory cards, batteries, chargers, and a small flashlight. -Binoculars are ESSENTIAL for optimum wildlife viewing on safari (and a GOOD pair of binoculars will make a BIG difference). -Good quality sunglasses. * Preventative pharmaceuticals (med kit): stuff you need, just in case the worst happens: diarrhea, headaches, heartburn, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, indigestion, sore throat, eye drops, and most important- anti-malarial tablets.
These are aimed at smaller groups and one needs to have a reasonable level of fitness as the journey averages 20km a day, although it is at a leisurely pace. • The Lebombo Overland Trail: This five-day ‘wilderness experience on wheels’ takes you from Crocodile Bridge to Pafuri.
