Recovery here we come...
Recovery here we come…
For those of you who are concerned… Millie is almost fully recovered. The last step to this unexpected event was to remove the sutures.
I took Millie to the vet 10 days after the procedure to get the stitches taken out and it was no surprise that she wouldn’t let the vet near her. Before the tech. even came near her, Millie was hiding under my chair as far away from the vet as she could. It took…

Our Recent Trip to the Hospital
Our Recent Trip to the Hospital
For as long as I can remember Millie has had a fat deposit right on the top of her head between her ears. I had a veterinarian look at it years ago and I was told not to worry about it, “it’s just a fat deposit, it shouldn’t bother her.” Great. So I never worried about it.
Sitting in the hospital. As you can see, the swelling is moving down into her face.
I got home from school last week and the…

WHO IS YOUR RUNNING PARTNER?
WHO IS YOUR RUNNING PARTNER?
Summer is quickly approaching if not already here, which means you’re either beach-bod ready, or not. Well I’m still trying to get beach ready, and there’s no one better to work out with than my Millie.
Millie has the energy of a puppy so when I don’t take her out she drives me crazy. So why not kill two birds with one stone? Train your pooch to run with you.
Once they learn how to walk with a…

Smooch your Pooch
My objective here is not to gross you out but to tell a story and be somewhat informative all at the same time. As you may or may not know by now, Millie is my best friend. We do everything together, including kisses.
She has the longest tongue and even if I’m trying to avoid it at all costs, she still manages to get me. So, my question to you, are dogs mouths truly cleaner then human mouths?
Wat…

How we defeat the heat
How we defeat the heat
Remember, panting is a good thing.
As the heat approaches we’re doing things to prepare ourselves for the unbearable weather, but what preparations are you making for your beloved four-legged friend? Millie is the type of dog that will go-go-go until she passes out. When we go to the park, if I’m holding the ball she’s ready to run no matter what the temperature is. That’s where things can get…

I can totally relate to this. My roommates and I refer to ourselves as "sarcastic assholes." (Pardon my language) I'm so lucky I live with people who share the same humor as I. The funniest is foreign people. They have such a complete different humor than "us Americans." My boyfriends mom is German, born and raised. I try and joke with her and she just doesn't get it. Sometimes my boyfriend will have to chime in and slowly explain the attempted joke and even then I only get a slight giggle if I'm lucky.
I was watching this one show on Max the cable channel called Strike Back, and there was a line from the dialogue that made me go through an internal contemplation with myself. One of the American characters made a sarcastic joke to one of the Russian characters. The Russian just stared at the...

Yes, another tale of a mans best friend. But I warn thee, this one is not as cheerful as the first. However, it does simultaneously share the love for yet another creature in this land.
This is a different companion entirely- a different name, a different breed, an overall different personality. She went by the name of Holly- an Australian Shepherd with beautiful locks of black, brown and white. She was definitely one of a kind.
She was our first family pup, my first dog I’ve ever had and ever loved. The first day we got her, I came home after a long day of soccer to that little fluff ball curled up on the couch sleeping like a baby in her mothers arms. She was beautiful. We grew up together.
She would join as all the neighborhood kids played outside until the street lights came on. I would ride my bike and she would sprint by my side snipping at my ankles until her pads on her paws were bloody from the cement.
We would go on hikes and she would stay right by your side until she had permission to run wild.
She was a childhood best friend, a guardian and a blessing.
She is now my guardian angel.
Only a short few weeks ago God decided to take her away from us, without any fair warning. Yes, she was getting old but no one expected her to leave so unexpectedly. Is it fair to just take such a beloved family member away? I know it’s part of life, but a loss is never easy to cope with.
Holly, you will forever be in my heart. I know we will meet again. R.I.P. my little Christmas puppy.

I applause you for being able to pick up with your dream after the bathroom interruption. Too many times I've been having those amazing dreams that I wish wouldn't get interrupted but when you gotta go ya gotta go. Then when I come back to bed trying to force myself to continue with the dream, it just never works for me.
Well done Cobos 👏
Dream on
Nothing irks me more than waking up in the middle of a good dream. Last night I was having the best dreams that I could ever ask for. They were those kinds of dreams where you actually think it is like the real deal. You know when you are dreaming and it is like too good to be true...

Have you ever had that one friend you can tell everything to? That one person who knows everything about and who you trust with your life? The type of friendship that is close to impossible to come by and one in which most people only find once in their life? Well I've been blessed that I have someone like that in my life. She is always by my side. I tell her everything and I completely trust her with my deepest and darkest secrets. It truly is once in a lifetime friendship and I recognize that I have been blessed with such an amazing companion. Her name is Millie. I've only known her for a few years but we clicked from day one. Once we met each other, I think we both felt the same way, we were in love. I've neglected to mention, my once in a lifetime friend that I speak of is simultaneously my four legged furry animal, my dog. Yet, she is something very different than a dog, I am honestly almost convinced that she may not even be related to the K-9 species. As she sits in front of the television, she relaxes on the couch as any normal human would sit. Legs out in front, hind legs underneath as if she were a little bear. And if we tune into Animal Planet her eyes are glued to the screen like a toddler watching Sesame Street. When bedtime rolls around mommy, aka me, puts her in her jamies, which is simply removing her collar she has been wearing all day, and she jumps onto my bed and we spoon for the remainder of the night. When daddy comes to spend the night he is lucky if he gets the bottom corner of the bed to rest his eyes. Although Millie has her own 'dog' bed in the corner of the room, it's just not good enough. But for as much of a human she is, she is the exact definition of a dog. Offer her a ball or frisbee and she's there. Fetch is her favorite game, and the best part is you're not the one fetching the ball. She will run and run after that ball and return it until she passes out. And I will admit she inherited her mothers soccer abilities cause that girl has some skill. But the most amazing part of Millie being a dog is the pure excitement she shows every time I walk in the front door. Wether I'm gone five minutes or five hours, when I get home her wiggly body can't do anything but make me smile from ear to ear. It's probably safe to say that I'm obsessed. Some may argue that my love for this creature is unhealthy, but let me tell you she is my child and I would do anything for my girl. If I could I would take her everywhere I go. For those who really know me know Millie is a part of me. Those Carmel eyes and the mixture of black, brown and auburn fur just melt your heart. And don't even get me started on that curly tail. Yes, she is a mutt- German Shepherd and black lab mix I was told, but at this point I could care less. I'm blessed with my four-legged best friend. #cppcom317
