Unpopular opinion but Jamie’s got no right to complain about having to sleep in the very same bed John and Clair had sex in when he continues to abuse LJG’s hospitality in his absence after everything he’s done.

My really only takeaway from 7.13 is that the only time Jamie and Claire were in bed together they were talking about John. Kind of like how last week his scenes were cut into their reunion sex.

It’s almost like there’s a third person in their marriage or something hmmmm I wonder who that might BE.

Something I don’t see talked about much is that Jamie really doesn’t have the faintest idea. He didn’t have a front row seat to her anguish, her self destruction. The moments when she wanted to simply give up.

John did! He was there, he heard her screaming and held her as she wept and hit and scratched at him. John was the one who dragged her from the depths of her grief, who refused to let her give up.

That’s something Jamie simply will never understand, at least not in the way John does. What it’s like for Claire to mourn HIM.

Yes they’ve shared loss and pain and plenty of other hard times, no doubt. But THIS he will never understand as viscerally as John does.

When you think about that, and the fact that Jamie was almost laughing as John tried to explain what their grief drove them to, I think Jamie’s just lucky John didn’t punch first.

I’ve watched this so many times and I can’t get over how YOUNG he looks, especially in the last gif. It’s like this fight with Jamie (and everything leading up to it) stripped away his carefully built walls of composure and good manners, the walls he uses to protect himself. We see a glimpse of what is buried underneath it all, the pain, loss, fear, anger and especially the vulnerability.

So much admiration for David Berry and his work this whole season, but this moment especially just shows he knows this character to the bone and the result is truly remarkable.
