Ok I need genuine advice from any artist who posts their art on social media.

How do you start? How do I get people to see my art? What are the best places to post?

I used to post tons of terrible art on Instagram when I was maybe 10 and it got tons of likes and engagement from other artists it was insane. But now the algorithm's changed completely and a drawing will only get a few likes from my close friends. It's honestly so sad and discouraging. I'm sure the best thing to do would be posting reels and tiktoks, but that's a whole new medium for me, I have no idea how or where to start.

I want to share my art, damn it! Even if it's not insanely impressive and worth a ton of views, I just want to finally be back in the community instead of just watching from the sidelines.

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

the david zwirner gallery and the felix gonzalez torres foundation in the smithsonian removed the descriptive plaque for portrait of ross in la by felix gonzalez-torres. the old plaque explained portrait for ross' origins as the artist's partner's aids related death, and replaced it with a plaque with absolutely no information about the piece itself, who ross was, or who gonzalez-torres was either. portrait of ross was also reeranged to lay on the floor long ways instead of in a pile as it typically is situated, and the plaque outside the exhibition FOR GONZALEZ-TORRES omits his sexuality, as well as his aids related death. i'm in utter disbelief
