The Goddess of Magick opens the doors to understanding…

I have been spending a lot of time deep diving in my learning about Hekate, worshipping her, and how to better strengthen my communication with her. It has been a wild week and we have had some enlightening talks, let me tell you. I will have to maybe save some stuff for later posts. For now though, I’d just like to share a little sigil work that she directly inspired me to do.

I’m only choosing to share this sigil because it is for Mercury retrograde (which starts today), and that it is basic, based on astrological alchemical symbols. I feel she would be happy sharing this with those who it might resonate with.

I was first inspired with this symbol when my hand drew it on my forehead without my conscious mind telling me to do so…while I was communing with Hekate. At first I was taken aback and a little wary because like I said…I definitely didn’t think about doing it, I just did it…with no plan or thought. I stopped feeling afraid though, when I sat back and realized what I had drawn. It was the symbol for Mercury, with a cross in the central circle. Now I knew Mercury, but I didn’t understand the cross, until at Hekate’s will, I began to research these alchemical symbols more…

A circle with a cross in the center is the alchemical and astrological symbol for Earth…Now here’s where it becomes more obvious what the symbol was for. I kept racking my brain trying to figure out why I should be combining these two symbols…Then, while talking this over with my girlfriend (who knows much more about astrology than I do lol) reminded me “You know Mercury retrograde is coming up right?”

BOOM! Forehead slap moment! Of course that’s what this is for! Earth, central inside the circle of Mercury, representing grounding ourselves in this time of Mercury’s unrest.

The circle of the Earth symbol represents Spirit. The cross represents Matter, with the vertical line representing Mind, and the horizontal line representing Body.

May we be well grounded in Mind, Body, and Spirit and may all our communications with others and our travels be safe in the coming days of Mercury retrograde. May all your magickal workings see fruition in the name of Hekate Khthonia Triformis.

More New Crystals!! 🤩🤩🤩

So I got a cool new piece from a locally based online crystal shop. But these guys are always cool and include a freebie in every order, so I’ll show off the freebie first…

This little bitty quartz point! It has a little bud on the side too. The facets on the main point are very stunning looking. For a small piece, it has a lot going on!

This piece also freestands on its side in a pretty cool way.

And this is the piece I actually got, a fabulous spirit quartz cluster. It has 5 total points, and such a cool shape. I’m really happy to add this to my collection.

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 87…Woah:

So…Yea, that happened. I find it so funny that such a vast majority of the fandom is so butthurt about the latest things, from this manga arc, to the new movie, to now Freeza’s reappearance. I for one am ecstatic to see Freeza relevant again!

I am actually one of those headcanon fans who was always of the school of thought that Goku’s initial victory against Freeza was a complete fluke, and never would have happened if he hadn’t gone Super Saiyan for the first time. There has been a lot of stuff about this put out over the years, but one of my biggest lines of reasoning for thinking this way, is the fact that Freeza never once took the battle on Namek seriously. Before Goku showed up, he spent what could have been hours just toying with the other warriors, showing off his various transformations and displaying just how feeble it was to fight him. By the time Goku arrived, Freeza probably had a notion in his mind, that maybe he messed around with the other fighters too much and wasted quite a bit of energy with all those transformations. However, he didn’t perceive Goku to be a threat at all and continued battling half-assedly. Even when Goku turned Super Saiyan, a lot of fans like to perceive that “Oh Goku was outclassing Freeza so much!” but that’s simply not true…Freeza went into his buff form and kept the fight going at near even for quite some time…Until he got a little too cocky and bisected himself of course…

But again, that’s what I mean. In the end, Goku definitely didn’t, vastly overpower Freeza. It was all because Freeza got careless and gave Goku huge openings.

Yes, he made a similar dumb mistake when he came back in Super and went Golden, rushing into battle before his body was ready to handle a new power. But think about what he said that it was the first serious training he had ever done…in his WHOLE LIFE. Of course he’s going to not fully understand how this whole getting stronger thing works, he never felt a need to try.

He’s learned. He’s learned, and a Freeza dedicated to training, is a scary af Freeza indeed.

Nice to finally have some validation that Freeza was always supposed to be the greatest threat in the whole series

New Crystal Acquisitions!!

I made a stop to my favorite metaphysical store today while I was in their area, and found a few things I absolutely could not pass up!

First is a small, beautifully clear Samadhi Himalayan Quartz point. This is my first piece so I was happy to find something small and reasonably priced.

Next up is a small Tangerine Quartz point with little crystal buds on the bottom. I didn’t have any Tangerine either so I definitely wanted this…

But this next piece is what I’m most excited about!

This gigantic clear, and slightly smokey crackled quartz point. This is easily the biggest piece I own now. When I saw it, I could feel it’s intense energy resonating with me. It was definitely a piece I needed!

Communing with Hekate:

Unfortunately no fun pictures for this one. I wasn’t thinking of it at the time:

But anyways, last night I also did some late night Hekate work with candles, and a Hekate themed incense I bought from a new local spiritual shop I tried out over the weekend.

I lit all my large basic white candles, then also set up one black and one white small ritual candle. The black to represent shielding and the protective circle, and the white to represent the energies of light and magic. I intently focused on the High Priestess tarot card in the candlelight, as I know Hekate has reached out to me with that specific card in past tarot pulls.

After chanting improvised prayers to the Goddess Of Magic, the Mother Of Witches, I looked down to notice the white candle had started burning exceedingly fast compared to the black one, and it was melting all down into a heap, whereas the black candle was hardly visibly melting at all and was burning slowly and evenly. As I continued to focus on hearing the Goddess’ voice, I noticed the flickering of the white candle flame reflected in my Ametrine orb. I picked it up and grasped it firmly in hand while still focusing on the High Priestess card in the candlelight. The energy I felt when holding that crystal orb was really something else! I could feel a deep spiritual electricity surging through my extremities, and it almost felt like I was levitating an inch or so off the ground for a second (felt like it…just felt lol).

I don’t feel I know enough about candle magic yet, so I tried researching the meaning behind certain candles burning faster than others. I didn’t find and definitive answers on candles and communing with deities. What I did find was that generally, if a candle that you have set specific intention behind is burning fast, that usually means the intention is working and working well. The white ritual candle was set with the intention to represent Hekate’s powers of magic working through me. The candle burning out in less than half an hour, and all the intense energy I could feel definitely gives me a strong intuition that I made contact with my Goddess last night!

(Note; I mentioned doing Hestia work before. I find ways to honor a lot of different deities, mostly Hellenic, and I’d like to look into Egyptian. But my main deities that I consider my “God and Goddess” are Pan and Hekate respectively)

Did a little witchy housekeeping, Hestia work yesterday. My altar space had been dying to be dusted up a bit and reorganized, so I figured I’d invite the Goddess of the Home & Hearth to bless my cleaning work.

Made a black salt symbol of Hestia adorned with lavender and burned a combination of mugwort, lavender, and yarrow to invite her energies in. I lit a flame on a large white candle to symbolize the hearth flame.

The finished cleaned and reorganized altar space. Put some white and black cloths down as decoration and to help with dust and the inevitable ashes from burning stuff haha. It was very rewarding work and I feel I really did have the blessings of Hestia.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero musings:

This post contains no spoilers as I myself haven't seen the movie yet. Waiting for the global release 🙃🙃🙃

I have however, seen a lot of the news, tidbits, and opinions about the new movie. Regardless of what any killjoys have to say about it, I'm still excited.

One thing that irks me though, is the wild leaps the fandom will make anytime statements are released by Toriyama or Toyotaro or anyone associated with the project. I read the little blurb released by one of the executive producers. What I don't understand is how so many people came to the conclusion that the manga and anime are separate canons...

We all know there are a few differences in the manga vs. the anime adaptation of Super, but a lot of those can be justified by the fact that most of the time, manga chapters and anime episodes were being released on each other's heels. Coordination was a mess. And overall, it's the same story, with the same outcome anyway. So is it really all that different?

Like I said, I read what that executive producer had to say. I did not see him state one time that the events of the current manga are not in line with the canon of the new movie. All I took from it, was that this movie was being called a "sequel to Broly" because as of yet, nothing has been animated since the Broly movie. You all remember that they did in fact reference the Broly fight in the manga, it was a double page art spread. So to claim that the movies and manga are not in the same canon is just absurd. Geeze... 🙄🙄🙄

Besides, I just saw the potential news leak that we may be getting the return of the series in 2023. So get hyped to finally see the Moro and Granolah arcs animated!!

letting them stay in bed or on the couch with whatever they want to entertain them and a pile of junk food to graze on- except there's never snacks without fresh baked treats to get through too, and there's never either without a big meal on its way

Another Dragon Ball Fan Rant:

Spoilers ahead for latest chapter of Dragon Ball Super...

Ok, so I have read the latest chapter, and I'm seeing all the conflicted opinions about Goku seemingly "regressing" to Ultra Instinct Sign. While I agree that this was not explained well, and was a little messy, I did think back quite a few chapters to try and find a way to make sense of this.

Well before Goku and 'Geets take off to planet Cereal to fight Granolah, they're training on Beerus' world. Whis is explaining to Goku that he needs to learn how to control his Ultra Instinct reflexes without undergoing an excessive transformation. Remember Whis doesn't really think transformations are all that, and finds them to be a waste of energy overall. I do think that a lot of things are still having a hard time being translated over with the manga scans, but the way I understood it is this: According to Whis' advice, the white haired "Mastered" Ultra Instinct form is unsustainable for Goku, because he's essentially overclocking his God Ki to a level that his mortal body can't possibly keep up with. Hence, how it seemed to backfire on him in the ToP when it fizzled out on him. There was also a theory put out there by some readers that I saw, stating that Ultra Instinct can be interrupted if the user isn't able to keep a clear and focused mind. This goes back to the Moro Arc, where Merus had his powers stolen by Moro, even though he was using Ultra Instinct. Even Goku seemingly broke out of Ultra Instinct when we was distracted in one scene.

So while it may be true that Mastered Ultra Instinct could be one of the strongest forms to date, it doesn't help much if the transformation itself is too hard for the user to sustain. The black haired Ultra Instinct "Sign" form essentially unlocks all of Goku's instinct reflexes, without the need to overclock his God Ki or constantly maintain a focused mind. Meaning he can fight how he wants, as he says.

It is messily explained, no doubt, but it does make sense with enough research.
