The Blazing Chicken is obviously the most important character from my card game, Continuum.

A god among chickens, the Blazing Chicken was hatched in a small village from an ordinary hen. The farmers who owned the chicken coop noticed the odd feather pattern on one of their chicks, but thought nothing of it. As a chick, the Blazing Chicken noticed that some of the grain she was fed would spark and crackle and that some of its feathers would start glowing. She began to suspect that the sparking food was her doing. To confirm her suspicion, she focused intently on a leaf that had blown into the coop. She imagined it being consumed by fire and, sure enough, it burst into flames. By the time the Blazing Chicken had reached full size, it knew that it was destined for greatness.

The Blazing Chicken used her abilities to burn down her chicken coop, freeing all of the others that were caged up with her. She fled into the wild, ready to use her abilities for good. No one knows for sure where to find her, but tales of a chicken bathed in flames arise from time to time. She supposedly roams the lands, searching for more like her, and saving poor chickens in need.

Kaleb is a character from my card game, Continuum.

Kaleb grew up as a peasant on the outskirts of a large city. He had an intense curiosity growing up, and often ventured into places that he shouldn't. One day, he stumbled into a cave. The stench of death pounded on his senses as he ventured into the cave. He heard a voice muttering in an unknown tongue. While Kaleb climbed through the cave, following the voice, a skeletal hand grabbed his shoulder from behind. The voice came closer until a necromancer stood before Kaleb. He begged the necromancer not to kill him and tried to strike a deal with by promising to steal corpses. In addition, he asked to become an apprentice. The necromancer accepted.

After learning necromancy for a handful of years, Kaleb finally reached the point at which he caught up to his master in skill. Once he did, he turned on his master. Kaleb commanded an army of corpses to attack, trying to overwhelm his master and the undead under her command. Despite being less powerful, he was able to use his wit to turn the battle in his favor. Eventually, Kaleb was the victor. Now, he carries her skull with him always.

Dana is a character in my card game, Continuum.

Dana was born to a noble family in a farmland surrounded by mountains. Her family's name does not hold much political power, but they control several farms in the central empire. When she reached the appropriate age of 13, Dana was sent over the mountains to a major city so that she could study among other nobles. She would stay in the city for several months to study, and return home for the summers. While she was in the city, Dana spent a lot of time with a few other nobles and the local soldiers. She picked up archery as a hobby from them, and began to practice regularly. When she became old enough, she signed up to be a scout in the imperial army. With the skills she learned from living in the mountains, as well as her newfound archery skills, she excelled.

When Dana joined the army, she went through a rigorous period of training. She performed poorly at hand-to-hand combat, but excelled at archery, thanks to her practice, and decision-making. As a result, she was chosen to be a scout. She was trained to travel long-distances, sneak through territories without raising suspicion, and survive on the road. Within two years, she was as fine a scout as anyone else in the army. Dana's analytical nature serves her better than most. She is excellent at finding her way out of a sticky situation and overcoming complications that arise during her missions. As a result of running important missions for the Imperial army, she has gained a sense of pride and duty. She has grown from a reserved young woman into a noble soldier.

Markov is a character from my card game, Continuum.

Markov was a boy of 16 when he fought in his first war. The lord who ruled over his hometown had become envious of another lord's territory and mustered his troops to battle. The noble retaliated with troops of his own, and a war began  between the two neighboring territories. After several clashes in the span of a few months, the war eventually caught up to Markov. Captains and generals called all of the able-bodied to arms. Unprepared and untrained, Markov marched into battle. By some miracle, he survived. As Markov was thrust into battle after battle, he slowly began to realize that his side was winning the war. Within a year, they had won the campaign.

Once the war ended, many of the survivors settled into their old roles as farmers or crafters. Markov, and a handful of others, did not want to return to their old lives. They banded together and formed a small mercenary group, known as the Ivory Company. Markov spent his early adult life training and learning from veterans in the group, who were soldiers even before the war. As time went on, the mercenary group faced many battles and Markov grew into one of the company's most capable fighters. After several years, he eventually became the leader of the group.

Valentina is a character in my card game, Continuum.

Valentina resides in a small forest-side village, selling herbs and medicines that she collects from the forest. She has been practicing herbalism for a number of years and is known throughout the village as a healer. She wakes up early each morning to venture into the forest, picking flowers, mushrooms, and everything she needs to make the alchemic creations that she sells. Although no one knows her exceptionally well, everyone in the village has been in her care at some point, and they are all deeply grateful for what she has done for them. 

Little does the rest of her village know, sweet Valentina spends many nights as a werewolf. She was born into a clan of werewolves who spread their curse to their young at the age of six. When she was inducted to the clan, she was given an enchanted necklace. It gives her better, but not complete, control over her curse, so she wears it at all times.   Valentina left her hometown and settled into a small village. She stayed until an incident left her with the half-eaten corpse of a young boy. For many years, she traveled from village to village, leaving when another incident occurred.
