I crave the most innocent parts of a relationship. Like holding hands and forehead kisses and being able to tell someone how much I absolutely adore them.

Gray smiled fondly upwards at his Aunt Kitty as she set up more toys for them to destroy. This definitely was something Mommy wouldn’t let him do at home, which was why it was their little secret. At the mention of his mom, a small little frown creased his forehead. “Is mommy mad at me?”
"Of course she's not, sweetie, why would you think that?" Katherine asked. Her brow momentarily raised as she watched him briefly. Shifting to build up the fire which was their main source for melting the plastic toys, throwing in a Barbie head just for the fun of it. Glancing back to her nephew shortly after doing so.

”Another one! Another one!” The little boy didn’t mind watching his toys get destroyed for more always seemed to appear in their place.
"Anything for you, lil' Gray." Katherine chuckled softly as she set aside the bin of things they'd already destroyed. Melted, mostly. Carrying a few undamaged ones over to the kid and setting them down near by as she sat. "Eventually your mother is going to ban my watching you." She grinned.

"Soon." Of course, an exact time or day was never really discussed, so as Katherine’s compulsion snaked its way through her mind in search of the location that held such information, there wasn’t much to be found. "She wasn’t sure if he wanted to see her." Her dull eyes remained trained on the woman before her as the vampire read her like a book. "She mentioned something about tonight."
Katherine just let a smirk curl up onto her lips, anger still beneath the surface but it wasn't directed towards this woman. No. She'd keep it reserved for the person actually responsible for it. Let it bubble and boil until it actually exploded because it no doubt would. Especially if Megan actually attempted anything other than a friendly visit. "And if she ever confides with you on the matter again, you're going to report back to me about it. Understood?" The vampire hummed as she raised a brow briefly and chuckled, the noise barely lasting a moment.

When the other woman spoke those words, Rachele felt something shift in her. They were so melodic, so warm— like being wrapped up in the comfort of a soft blanket. She could trust her— how could she not trust someone so… inviting? "She’s going to see him." Her voice was hollow, void of anything human as her own pupils reacted to the mental invasion. Now she felt nothing, like her limbs weren’t even there. Her entire body was just disconnected, like someone had flipped a switch. "She said she’s going to claim what’s always been hers."
Katherine was glad to see it working, so many people in town were on vervain these days it was ridiculous. It made behaving easier and yet acquiring food more difficult. Yet even then she had her ways, not everyone needed to be compelled. Plenty of people could just as easily be bought. Anger started to flare within her at those words, at even the thought. The fact that anyone at all had the audacity to look at her man twice was outrageous enough. Let alone his supposed best friend. Who wouldn't only be attempting to 'claim' what definitely wasn't hers, but she was willing to break up their family in the process. Which Katherine knew neither herself, nor Jer even, would allow. "Just when does she plan on doing this?"

The nature channel was one of the very few things her stepfather allowed her to watch growing up. He considered most public television to be trash— but some things could be truly educational. Rachele found herself recalling that education right now. The way this woman looked at her… it reminded her of a lioness picking out which gazelle she should slaughter. “Well, you know Megan— she does love to talk!” Rachele laughed, absolutely terrified.
No matter how she might appear to the other girl, Katherine wouldn't harm her. More so now after a certain discovery. It wasn't only her promise to Jer to behave that kept her thinking rational right now. There was ways she could get the information without torture, without compulsion really. Knowing she was intimidating enough on her own and yet even then the pupils still dilated and an attempt to compel was made. "And just what aren't you telling me, hmm?" Although the words used to do so were natural enough not to give away what she was doing. Given there was no way to tell whether the girl had been subjected to vervain.

“Things?” she mumbled. “—I know the feeling.” Of course, Rachele couldn’t possibly understand what he was going through because, above all, she had no idea. Megan had done well to make sure her friend was kept in the dark about the real Mystic Falls— what exists lurking in the shadows. And whenever she visited, her best friend saw to it that she was protected from influence. Though, that only happened when Megan actually knew she was in town. This was a surprise visit. Her eyes grew a little wider, unable to look away, and her heart sped up. “What else would she have to say?”
Katherine merely nodded for a moment. Taking a closer look at the woman before her, making mental notes on a few things. She was definitely very pretty with decent enough fashion sense. Not to mention a few other things that caught both the vampire's eyes, and ears. Causing her to smirk just a little bit more while not advancing any further than she had. Although, at the current moment, she still stood rather close to the girl now. "Oh, you know. It's Megan. I'm sure there's plenty she's said." If this stranger was good enough friends with the girl, then no doubt she'd have been confided in about things. Important things.

“Lemme guess— he doesn’t have a lot of friends who are girls.” And even though she was joking, and able to share a laugh with the woman, Rachele was unable to shake the feeling in the pit of her stomach— the one screaming at her to run. “—All good things, I swear,” she nodded emphatically, and when the next step brought her hip knocking into a nearby table, the Italian had to swerve quickly to catch the vase of flowers before it fell. She returned them to their original position— only to turn and see how close Katherine had gotten. “You know, how he’s a good guy and he’s always stuck by her— that kind of stuff.”
"Or friends in general. He's going through.. things." Safe to say ever since he'd turn, Jeremy's social life had changed drastically by the looks of it. He was still new and worried about hurting people, especially after issues he'd already had. A recovering blood addict is not someone you want associating with a bunch of loud-hearted humans. "Mhm, I'm sure." The woman purred with a small nod of her head while watching the girl fumble a bit. Almost wanting to laugh but she refrained. Again, because she was 'nice'. But that didn't stop her from advancing still. Dark eyes curiously gazing into the strangers, though she withheld any influence. For now. "And is that it, that all she said?"

"Always."
Katherine added a teasing note on that bit. Safe to say she was enjoying this sort of.. friendship that'd formed between them. Especially when it took a great deal of stress off Jeremy to not have them at each others throats non-stop. Having two of the most important people in your life acting almost like sisters, was much better than them being such hateful enemies. It was for this reason she happened to be seeking the girl's advice on what she considered important matters.
"And that's what I want for Jeremy. Apartments always seem like such temporary living, giving one the chance to get up and take off at any time. Where as having a home.. well he, of all people, deserves to have that again. Plus it'd be fun to see Gray on a swing set that wasn't at the park, you know?"
“Valid point.”
Elena was grateful for the house she had acquired. It was private enough that it kept people from being nosy and people wouldn’t see certain supernatural moments going on every now and then. Yet it wasn’t so secluded that it took ages to get into town or that you were really far away from your neighbors if you needed them or wanted to socialize with them.
“I say that sounds like a marvelous idea. An apartment is great for awhile but having a house is truly something else altogether. It’s a more permanent feel of home. And you know how Grayson loves to be outside, and who knows maybe one day he might have somebody else out there to play with.”
#writteninherdiary#she's leaving out a response to that last bit#cuz the subject of their own kids is still tender with her xD
