I think that we can collectively agree that song "Merry Christmas, Please Don't Call" by Bleachers is owned by Jason Todd.
And I saw that many people interpreter lyrics as conversation of Bruce and Jason, or just take "Merry Christmas, please don't call" as line for Todd.
But! I think that we all need to think in another way too. Because it's not dialog, it's monologue.
«To the tempo of your uptight Is the flicker of a street light You know this moment don't ya And time is strangely calm now 'Cause everybody's gone it's Just you and your anger»
His fist meets the red helmet, gloves consume the most of the pain in his knuckles.
But all Bruce can think of is that it is his son.
Who died. Who now go against all principles that Wayne tried to teach him.
And failed miserably.
«Oh, golden boy, don't act like you were kind You were mine, but you were awful every time So don't tell them what you told me Don't hold me like you know me I would rather burn forever»
He receive a bullet just moment ago, but adrenaline and that mud of emotions inside of him preventing Batman from acknowledge anything.
He tries to erase any thoughts other than his mission right now. And it is "get red of the Jason Red Hood".
It's so wrong. But Bruce can't do anything. He thinks of pain in his hand from the times he'd hit Grayson. And it's all repeating. Over and over and over again.
Repeating, leading to this moment.
«But you should know that I died slow Running through the halls of your haunted home And the toughest part is that we both know What to happened to you Why you're out on your own Merry Christmas, please don't call»
He remembers how rage consumed him. How his little boy was limp and cold in his hands when that bastard took him away from Bruce.
He wants to say that he tried. To avenge. To bring some sense of right completeness. But it wasn't right justice for his code.
He choked back words that he can't say.
Bruce always was bad at talking. And he think that he really tried.
But looking at his sons bloodied face behind broken helmet, Wayne again need to face painfully simple truth.
He failed. Again.

Grayson as Talon pt.3
I want to think that Talon in one moment moved closer to Jason or just make a nest in his safehouse, and BOOM happy ever after. But that is not possible.
One thing that bothered Red Hood the most is that he was in complete dark about where Birdie lived. He tried to track down his nest, because not knowing where it was and what was there was dangerous.
And each time Jason tried to do it - Talon always escaped. He chooses the most unbelievably small places to run through, moving with his abnormal speed. Of course that little brat knows that Hood followed him, so man decided to change tactics.
In one particularly cold night, when Talon obviously doesn't want to seat with vigilante for too long, Jason stoped kid.
"Here. Take it. I get that you don't like cold and all that. So maybe, dumbass, you should wear something more warm, don't you think?" with annoyance mumbles man, tossing his jacket at Birdie.
He catches it (which already means that plan starts to work) and curiously tilted his head bird like stile. Grayson can't quite understand why he needed something like that. If he gets in trouble not only this thing will slowed his movements down, but also will get torn or stained or both.
But... something in gesture himself made Talon feel warmth inside. It was nice. He...get a present, right?
"Thank you", hesitantly murmurs kid, put the jacket on and with somewhat childish fascination looked at sleeves. He almost drowned in fabric, because Todd was significantly bigger than him. And than Talon just runs away, back to his nest, to cherish his first present and hide it so it won't damage.
Red Hood will just look how small figure disappeared and after this move gase away while standing on his foot.
It was... surprisingly easy. And Todd diligently ignores how something in him tightened at look of this child happiness. Because Jason did it not from a kind heart.
Well...in most part.
"O, can you track something for me?", asks Red Hood into the comms and hear how hoarse his own voice is.

When Jason confronted his family enemies for the first time as Red Hood I can swear there were tears in his eyes I know that, saw myself, I was gravel at their foots
"I am going to kill you." said Todd as calm as he can master his voice right now. It's hard, his rage waiver inside, pushing him over the edge while in corner of his mind still lives that small child and he cried out of pain, begging for attention, for revenge, for acknowledge of his suffer. He wanted something.
"If you going to do it, at least don't cry." firmly answers Grayson, he wore a deep frown and feel his own eyes tingle with emotions. He wronged Jason so many times. And he feel how nausea start to squeeze his stomach and throat. Because he sounded so much like Bruce right now.
Todd doesn't answer. Just feels how something in him clenches.
Disappointment. That how it feels. Jason too familiar with that feeling.
Click of a gun removing from safety sounds almost deafening.

Grayson as Talon pt.2
When time went on, Jason started to notice how presence of small Talon by his side became somewhat necessary. He started expecting little Birdie to show up at his patrols.
Hood still can't describe what he was for Talon and what Talon was for him. They weren't partners, Jason didn't even consider such nonsense because he still doesn't believe that Grayson wouldn't go nuts if something went wrong.
So he chooses to just go with their nameless relationship and move on with occasional thoughts of child beside him. It's isn't something that Hood not familiar with, cause all kids in Crime Alley now were under his protection.
When bats found out about Talon, their first thought inevitably was "We need to get red of this" but they also fall into trap of "This is just a child". And maybe just maybe an angry frown Todd worn with hand on his gun made them think in this direction faster.
So now Talon became his responsibility. Not that Hood was so much against it, Grayson was surprisingly calm and obedient around him, but it still was a headache in it's own way.
Kid sometimes disappeared for a couple of days and that came back like nothing happend and Hood each time was salty about it. Boy doesn't seem to realise what he did wrong, but Jason can swear that he was just playing dumb.
And sometimes this menace of a child decides to protect Hood. It doesn't matter was it some low class goon with its mind out of place if he decided to threaten Jason or even some bat starting argument about another case and Hoods involvement in it. Talon didn't separate any of them if he starts to see any kind of aggression towards Todd, he just sees it as danger.
And it did bother him. Because on one hand was headache from troubles that will come with this protection (man was confident that Talon will just try to tear apart anyone who bring trouble to him or this kid himself) and on other wellbeing of Birdie.
Sometimes Hood can't complain about any of it when this weapon for murder sits with him after a fight and makes worried chirps when sees any type of wound. Sometimes Talon will start speaking at this moments, thinking that words will help Jason to feel himself better.
Sometimes when Todd hears another quiet and clearly worried "Look bad" or "Help?" he really feel better. Because with him Talon starts to look less and less like...nothing, like an emotionless zombie.

Richard as Talon prefer to communicate with chirps and other bird noises.
It's not that he can't speak, he still remembers how to do it from when he was human. He just doesn't want to do it.
When the Court is down and survived Talons run god knows where without any master to hold them in place, Dick found some abandoned house that he slowly starting to equip as his nest. I think that first Bat that he started to look from a side was Red Hood.
Talon saw power and raw anger, maybe feel something that Lazarus Pit left inside of Jason, so he decided to look. Just from curiosity.
Slowly it's became his entertainment. Look and learn some new things, new move that was not so lethal. Sometimes Talon wonders why Red Hood so soft when he clearly want to shoot someone brains out.
And they both know that Grayson follows him. Sometimes Red Hood can catch the glimpse of gold in corner of his eye, sometimes he can almost hear disapproved chirp when rubber bullets doesn't kill anyone.
One time he almost catches that annoying little bastard, except he doesn't. Just because he can almost feel admiration from that dead child when he finally pins him down to the ground. It's wrong on so many levels that Todd just can't.
So he let him go and think reprove himself for about a week. That it's just became a routine as Talon gets just more and more comfortable with him.
Now it's sits just a roof away or by his side at most of his patrols.
Red Hood perfectly knows that that thing is deadly weapon raised from the dead - haha - to become nightmare to anyone who decided to cross path of the Court.
And yet he can't do anything with it. Because it is just a child. Deadly? Absolutely. But did you see Damian? Cass? It's not a big deal for bats.
So now, when he sits on another stakeout with abnormal still and quiet Talon by his side, Red Hood thinks that it's okay. As long as this kid by his side, Grayson at least can't kill anyone.
It took them for about two and a half month to become as comfortable as they can be without always thinking: "He is going to kill me".
And it's when Jason decide to start communicate with Birdie.
It's not like he gets an answer first try, but as time flew by they start to talk. Short, quiet, but it was something.
And one day bats definitely found out about Talon. Maybe they catch a glimpse of him with Jason when the fly by, maybe when one of them decided to barge into one of Todds safehouses and saw...it.
Damian, in cold tone, already ready to fight: Todd, I hope you have an explanation why one of them are here?
Jason, calmly sits and just shrugs his shoulders: What can I say. I'm a good father.
Dick by his side, baring his teeth: *angry chirping*
Jason: Language.
Dick: *more angry swirls and chirps*
Damian: What did you just say?!
Jason, a little smug: He says that you are stupid. Don't worry, it's what I teach him.

*Batfam trying to peacefully play games together*
Dick: So... I am fictional place.
Tim: Narnia!
Damian: Heaven!
Dick: Oh-
Jason: Well, actually, he is right.
Tim: I don't think that you can be good source of information.
Jason: What do you mean? I was a good child.
Tim: You tried to steal Batmobil when Bruce found you.
Jason: At least I wasn't some creep who run around and stalked on capes.
Damian: You were one. I think that this was the only thing that stoped you.
Tim: And I just was better detective. You couldn't keep up with my level even if you tried.
Jason: Listen here, you little shits-
Dick: OKAY, LET'S JUST GO WITH NARNIA, OKAY?!

«Hyacinth means "Please forgive me"»
I can't sleep thinking abt death of Dick in Injustice. And I think that Dami really liked Grayson as his brother.
Yes, Damian can't properly explain it and show without aggression bcs he just doesn't know how to do it the other way.
And when Nightwing dies Damian just don't know what to do or think or say. Because Dick always blocks it.
He wasn't on his funeral cause he still didn't believe that that happened.
But when he finally comes to his grave, Dami brings hyacinth with him. He perfectly aware of meaning that flower have. And if he can't say it he decided to show what he want Dick to know.
Even if words or even deeds doesn't matter anything for the dead.
