the most depressing part is that it's not even kamala's stance on genocide that is costing her the elections. i wish it were. it's people genuinely shifting for trump. but it's the pro-palestine movement that's going to get the blame for it.

You shouldn’t have to be trans to get any sex characteristic-related surgery. It’s not a limited resource. Plenty of cis men get implants and cis women get breast reductions. From Colby Gordon today and Leslie Feinberg in Transgender Warriors (1996).

there's something very scary about the way we argue and entertain discourse on israel or on settler colonialism when, on the ground, israel has totally isolated northern gaza and is currently systemically liquidating jabalia (a refugee camp in northern gaza) just as they have, from the very beginning, said they would do. just as large swathes of israel came to be in 1948, to 1967, to the west bank today. there's something scary about watching indigenous people undergo a genocide in real-time in 2024 like they're squatters on some prime property while nobody moves except to argue about semantics. there's something scary about people being trapped and killed like fish in a barrel while you can text them and follow them on social media and watch their pleas in video as soldiers and tanks come closer. what the hell is this

Howdy Y'all.
This is my story in short, please share with me, I am a Type 1 Diabetic. I was diagnosed in February 2019 after being very sick and I weighed 88 lbs. For the last two and a half years I have had to inject insulin 4+ times for day every day, to stay within my blood glucose level.
In December 2020 I was hospitalized and had to have emergency surgery where I had to stay at home for the entire period of my illness without working, and I also had DKA aka Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones.
In the picture, the devices you see are the ones that are needed to control my diabetes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Diabetic ketoacidosis develops when your body cannot produce enough insulin. Insulin normally plays an important role in helping sugar (glucose), the main source of energy for your muscles and other tissues, enter your cells. Without enough insulin, your body begins to break down fat as an alternative fuel. This process produces a buildup of toxic acids in the bloodstream called ketones, eventually leading to diabetic ketoacidosis if left untreated.
Three months later in March 2021 I finally got to see an endocrinologist, who specializes in Type 1 Diabetes. Who told me that an insulin pump would be a good device for me?
Tumblr media
I was recently approved for an insulin pump that will help me better control my diabetes. Although I am happy that I am approved the hardest part is coming up with the funds to pay for the pump and equipment.
📎Support and donate here.
👉 GOAL: $50/$340
A donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated even if you can't donate but if you share the story against friends It will help. Thanks to anyone and everyone who is willing to help.

‼️Please read‼️: help Mohammed keep his family together!
Mohammed @mohdiwais has been fundraising for months now to save his 27-person family: himself, his nine siblings, and his nieces and nephews.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You already know that Gaza is under brutal occupation right now, with extreme shortages of food, water, and medical supplies being imposed by the Israeli forces.
The Iwais family has already been displaced half a dozen times since their house was bombed. One of Mohammed's sisters was shot in a quadcopter attack and had to get an emergency procedure to extract a bullet the size of a thumb from her leg. Another family member is suffering from an epidemic disease, a common problem for displaced Gazans who are forced to live in tents. They are suffering in the unsanitary conditions and have little protection from bugs or other pests, especially in the summer heat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is absolutely crucial that the family are able to stay together now. They have already lost 10 members since the war began in October, and the remaining 27 have stayed together the entire time since then. Mohammed doesn't want to split into smaller family units or be separated from any of them; he needs to be there to help care for them all. Apart from each other and without reliable internet and phone connections, he wouldn't even know if something horrible happened to them. Wouldn't you want to keep your loved ones close too?
Because they have lost their jobs and their house, the family are absolutely reliant on your donations to survive and to stay together. In addition to the urgent medical care that Mohammed's sister still needs to recover from her bullet wound, basic goods in Gaza are skyrocketing in price, even food aid that's supposed to be distributed freely.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eventually, they want to rebuild their lives, but survival comes first. Mohammed worries every day about his siblings and his beloved nieces and nephews, some of whom are as young as nine years old. The family are still grieving the 10 members they've lost, and they are fighting to keep each other alive and together.
Please don't scroll past. Any donation you can spare will help them reach their next mini goal of kr135,000 SEK by Sunday night. This means they need to raise approximately $5,200 USD in the next week. This money is supporting 27 people who desperately need medicine, food, and shelter to stay alive.
Can you spare the cost of a cup of coffee to help them survive?

shared by @/90-ghost; more info on the family here
kr80,086 / kr135,000 weekly goal
kr54,914 or ~5,200 USD to go!

to anyone who needs a hug right now, I've imbued this post with a hug. in other words after I wrote this post I hugged my phone for 5 minutes, so that energy should cover about 5,000 people
