WWF Posters
I found this campaign from WWF which utilises simplicity in a very interesting way. The poster depicts animals we often describe as âhorrifyingâ and âfrighteningâ a shark and a vulture present on the left side of the poster with âhorrifyingâ and âfrighteningâ in type subtly placed in the centre of the bottom half of the image with right side of the poster depicting the same setting yet the birds are absent. On this side the type reads âmore horrifyingâ and âmore frighteningâ which is very interesting use of words as it leaves a small mark as your realise no matter how âhorrifyingâ or âfrighteningâ they may be it would be sad to see a world without them.

Climatelife Final Animations
For my Climatelife project I wanted to add some for of 3d design, if possible 3d projection, however due to time constraints and other limitations I was unable to do 3d projection mapping but I did manage to create these designs for the company. The main idea behind the designs was to make the company more accessible to the younger audience as they are the next generation and what I believe to be the most important generation. I chose six animals from the research I have made including; the puffin, the panda, the moose, the penguin, the elephant, and the cheetah which are all animals effected by climate change. I decided to use the colours I had used throughout the branding of the company to make the animations feel part of the identity, plus I also believe that these are all colours found in nature and create a natural beauty when seen together. They depict the animals within their habitat, alone, as if their in their own miniature world, highlighting the different climates with the colours and textures used. Personally I find these very interesting little figure that could be 3d printed, which is interesting!!!

Miami Zoo Rainforest Lifetile
This is something I came across online, a mural at the Miami Zoo of the Amazon Rainforest. The mural uses a technique where they apply a lenticular lens over a interlaced design of multiple frames. The lens magnifies the steps of each frame and changes as the angle of the viewer changes creating an illusion of movement on print. I found this very interesting as it brings your designs to life and can be implemented in multiple ways to create exciting, wonderful designs. This inspired me to try this for my âOpen Spacesâ project as I was in search for new techniques and unique ways of creating visuals/designs.

Iceland Banned Advert
Whilst surfing the internet I came across an article on âThe Guardianâ about a christmas advert by the births supermarket Iceland which was banned for being too political. The animation is part of a collaboration with green peace and depicts an orang-utan trying to lay rest at the little girls house before skipping to the chaotic devastation caused by humans tearing down the forrest where the orang-utan lives. Finishing with the girl comforting the orang-utan whilst ensuring him a future by her side. The message in the video can be quite hard hitting but warm hearted at the same time. The inclusion of a childâs bedroom brings empathy as it shows the devastation of the orang-utans home and makes the viewer connect the dots by thinking âwhat if this happened to our homeâ or even worse âwhat Iâm my child was left without a home and without us as parentsâ. The colour is drawn away from the animation leaving only blacks, whites and greys creating a dramatic effect that adds to the emotion, an orang-utan swings by highlighted in red making it stand out from the other stuffing on and also hinting towards danger.

WOW!!! I cam across this video on youtube of projection mapping and wow was I amazed, the link can be found below. Something I find very intriguing as mentioned before is 3D projection mapping because I think it truly defines how light creates out reality and if used correctly can cause stunning illusions. Within the video from 3:59 to 4:59 the actor used to move the objects enters the digital 3d space creating visuals like no other which explains my beliefs of light changing our reality. This is something I dream of achieving, I can vision the technique used in club lighting where the musician could enter the illusion creating an immersive experience with the fans as they enter a new realm with the musician teleporting around the crowd and moving over head.

Climatelife Flyer Final
Here is a campaign which is printed in a flyer form I decided to do this because its something that people can collect/keep instead of a poster which is only glanced at. The campaign is called âRemember? your child doesn't... Remember? your child won'tâ which is a play on the imagery as a child from this generation âdoesn'tâ remember, tape cassettes, retro computers, and VHS tapes. Whereas your child âwonâtâ remember, the penguin, the panda, and the elephant if we carry on destroying our climate. I have also included the brand identity by adding the organisations colours to the front and back of the flyer, also keeping a similar composition and layout to the business cards.

Climatelife Final Letterhead
Continuing âClimatelifeâsâ business identity I decided to create a letterhead using some of the previous elements from my designs. I used the same colour palettes to keep the organisations branding consistent. The letterhead also contains all the contact information to make it easy for the recipient to reply.

Climatelife Business Cards
Here are the business cards I have designed for my fictional climate change organisation âClimatelifeâ I have used the same colour palette as the logos and have decided to use a multiple colour scheme for the organisation, blue & white, green & white, and orange & white. The changing colour scheme is to represent the different colours in nature, the blues in the skies and seas, the greens in the grass, hills, and trees whilst the orange is the sky as the sunsets over the horizon. This is all to represent and symbolise our climate. I have also used the logo in a mirror like composition reflecting from either side. This was also done to create a chain like visual when the cards are placed side by side, this was done to create a feeling of connection and unity, which is something I consider to be a vital part of a charitable organisation.

Climatelife Final Logo
Here is the other sketch I have chosen to digitalise. I found this one interesting as it combines two elements of climate change, the effect on animals and the water droplet representing the atmosphere. I decided to use negative space to input a polar bear onto the water droplet using the golden circles again to compose the logo. Personally I find this one more interesting than the previous design as the negative space polar bear is clearly seen as oppose to the previous design with the panda. This is the final logo I will be using for âClimatelifeâ.

Climate Life Logo #1
When deciding which sketch to digitalise I thought this was one of the most interesting due to its simplicity which is something I am aiming for and think is vital for a good logo design as it needs to be memorable. The logo shows a lying down panda with his paw covering his eyes to give the impression the panda is sad. To achieve the panda within the logo I have used negative space which keeps the simplicity. I have also used golden circles from the golden ratio to give the logo natural beauty and proportionate.

Climatelife Logo Process
For my empty module project I have decided to create an organisation to bring awareness to climate change. I have decided to call the company âClimatelifeâ to express how the climate if also living as well as the animals and us humans. These were my initial ideas for the logo of the organisation I have sketched, I will then upload some of my favourite sketches to illustrator to digitalise them and make them cleaner.

Banksy âMoco Museum
Another piece I found interesting when visiting the Moco Museum in Amsterdam was the piece by Banksy called âChrist with Shopping Bagsâ originally painted in 2004. Personally I love the symbolism portrayed in the stencil and how it represents the loss of reflection and the abundance of consumerism which takes place over the Christmas period. The image portrays a very strong message thats very eye opening to the consumerist zombies we have become. I also love the reference to how the joys from material goods do not last and the way in which this is symbolised. Symbolism is something I love within design and the combination of two recognisable subjects that serve as a message.
