After finally seeing 13 in action, there’s no doubt in my mind that she and River would be the lesbian power couple we’ve all been dreaming of.

River couldn’t help the smile that grew on her lips at the others words. She never would have thought that the Doctor would actually admit to missing her - but here they were. New regenerations bought out new things, and this one seemed to be a little more eager to share emotions, a trait that River was quickly becoming very fond of. Tipping her head back with a laugh, River felt herself come alive again, it had been such a long time since she’d seen the Doctor, such a long time since all those years, of course she knew that it would come to an end, but she thought it would be the end of them together... but he wasn’t to know then that he would become a she and they would have some more, new adventures together. She would cherish every moment... because of course... this was going to fill the last page in her diary... his-her new face... she felt herself crumble into the woman’s arms, her own wrapping around her waist and squeezing back. She’d always longed for affection from the Doctor, and oh this new body was giving it to her more than she knew she needed. “Oh for god’s sake.. for the last time - I married the diamond!” she huffed, shaking her curls, although her arms remained around the other’s waist. “If you’re going to keep bringing it up I’m going to have to make you shut up - “ she thinned her lips into a smile. “One way or another.”
The Wife of River Song || thedoctorxiii
rxversxng:
It wasn’t something that had really ever crossed River’s mind, the Doctor to her had always had a male form, well that was how human’s perceived it, but of course, to a time lord their outer shell isn’t something that’s gendered, it’s just something else, like a different t-shirt - but oh River had to admit, this one was very pretty. She almost preferred the Doctor like this, all curvy and smooth… her eyes couldn’t help running down the other, lingering on parts now that she knew they were married and it was all completely okay. There was a deep chuckle at the woman’s words, her eyes shooting back up to her face. “Oh I like everything. Look at you! I almost want to twirl you around like a princess!” she laughed, her hands running down the others arms, grabbing her hands and squeezing them. Eyes catching some light from somewhere, River grinned, spinning on her heal to look at the TARDIS. “Oh I’ve missed her too - although I’ve missed you a little more sweetie.” She shot a look back to the woman before quirking a brow. “Wouldn’t be as much fun as I am if I didn’t get into trouble now and again.” she winked. Turning back around to face the other woman. Laughing at the air quotations. She should have known from the moment she introduced herself as John Smith - she shook her head, curls bouncing with the movement. “what do you mean she threw you out? And catch up darling, I’ve been doing that for years!” she chuckled.
Her smile only grew bigger at River’s words. Once again she was reminded of what true love was. Her and River, they were true love. Even if they hadn’t seen each other for ages, they would always find their way back to one another. “I’ve missed you, too.” She grinned.
“Well, maybe it wasn’t the smartest idea to regenerate inside the TARDIS again. As soon as I wanted to fly off, she refused and instead threw me out. But hey, I’m here. All safe and sound. And as far as I know, I haven’t lost a hand this time.” The Doctor joked, pulling River in a bone-crushing hug. This new form loved hugs, with anyone and at anytime.
“Are you always this flirty with strangers?” When she pulled away she narrowed her eyes at her wife. Of course she knew that River liked flirting, but most of the time she did it to gain something from it. “‘Cause I’d like you to know that you’re my wife. We’ve been through this before, remember? When you had gone off to marry someone else and you eventually found out that I was a white-haired Scotsman.”

Eyes watched the woman, her own mind whirring with the possibilities. She’d met all of the known incarnations of the Doctor, had photos of all his faces so that she knew when and where she was, so this woman - no way... but there was something about her... now that River really looked... something so familiar, perhaps she was new... but even time lords have limits... but who really knew ho many the Doctor had - The smile made River smile back, although a little stiffly, she couldn’t quite figure out why this woman was now all of a sudden grinning at her... perhaps she was a trap, from the people she was running from, knowing that if they used the right words River wouldn’t move - had she fallen for it, was this part of a way to get her back to Demon’s Run? The other was no blathering like an idiot, and although she found it amusing, it was a little bewildering as well... the last person she knew that talked anything like that was - NO ... she couldn’t be - River knew all his faces... but... she was so damn familiar! River furrowed her brows, thinning her lips... she only knew about 11 regenerations in his cycle... was she claiming there was another one? Or was she a different time lord... had she found another - one she could take to the Doctor, one that could stay with him? River shook her curls. “No I’m sorry sweetie...but if you have a TARDIS, and I think you’re claiming that you’re a timelo - time lady, then, have you heard of the Doctor, you see I’m looking for him...”
Raining Doctor
rxversxng:
River bent a little closer to the woman, brows furrowed as the other started to squint at her. Oh thank God, she’s not dead… although River couldn’t quite understand how someone who looked like had just fallen out of the sky could still be alive… but she’d seen stranger things, and some of them earlier that night. River began to offer the woman a hand up, but she faltered when the other spoke, her mind reeling. This woman had fallen out of the TARDIS… and was 1. Still alive. 2. The Doctors new companion? 3. Someone who had stolen the TARDIS. 4. The Doctor had thrown her out of the TARDIS or 5. She was The Doctor… Green eyes blinked at the woman, a tilt of her head as she watched her. Could she be…no… surly… but - what if? River thinned her lips a little. “What do you know about the TARDIS? Where is it? Who are you?” she reeled off the questions, all other concerns leaving her mind at once.
Most of her questions were obviously ignored. Instead it seemed like the other woman was confused., choosing to focus on one specific point. But that in turn confused her. So whoever the woman was, knew exactly what she was talking about. Anyone else would think she was a madwoman but not her. She knew what a TARDIS was!
This excited The Doctor, the newfound energy helped her become fully aware. Then finally, it all clicked. The Doctor knew why the woman’s voice sounded more familiar. She instantly smiled at who she now knew was River.
“Oh right! I wonder why it took me so long to realize who you are,” The Doctor beamed as she patted River’s back before tilting her head to the side, “Right, you don’t recognize me, do you? Of course you don’t!”
Of course she sounded absolutely bonkers, but she didn’t care in the slightest. “Well, in short, my TARDIS sort of kicked me out when I regenerated, quite rude if you ask me.” She chuckled, as if not making a big deal of the ordeal, “You see, less than an hour ago I was a white haired Scotsman, ringin’ any bells?”

River chuckled at the woman’s words. She liked her sense of humour. If they were in another situation River would have probably liked to go for a drink with her, but right now there were a couple more pressing matters that had to be dealt with before any sort of drink could be drunk. Green eyes ran over the woman at her words, her smile growing. Of course she would be the one getting attacked, of course she would be affiliated with the Doctor, who else would have been so lucky... Her palm met with the others and she shook it, nodding at the other woman. “Lovely to meet you Sarah Jane Smith. You’ve got something I need.”

River watched the other for a moment, raising a quizzical eyebrow. “Sorry to burst you bubble but most God’s are brutes and won’t forgive anything unless you hold them at gun point of course...” she smirked, eyes still on the other.

“Got to have somewhere to crash right.” River chuckled, unlocking the door and heading up the stairs to the flat. It wasn’t much of course, but it was something to keep her and her company safe, even just for the night. Let the things that were chasing them run themselves tired and see what happened next. River almost laughed at the realization, She’d not actually told this woman who she was. “River, River Song - and you are?” she smiled, flicking on the light switch.

Send a ◈ for a first kiss between our muses.
Pulling the other by the shoulders she moved her to the wall, pinning her up against it. Flattening her body against the others for a moment, her eyes meeting with the others and realising her precarious position, taking full advantage of the moment, River leaned in, planting her lips on the others, enjoying the softness of them. It had been a while since she’d kissed someone, let alone a women, and a good looking one at that… River smiled into the kiss as she heard footsteps pass them, telling her that they had avoided the threat, for now. She pulled away from the other, a slight blush on her cheeks. “We should get moving.”

River watched the other woman, her heart breaking into a million pieces. She knew why she couldn’t go with her. It would fracture space time and a billion others would suffer just because they loved each other. Just because the Doctor had actually fallen in love with her... there wasn’t words to express how much that meant to River, there wasn’t any way that River could show the Doctor how much she did want to stay with her, if there was a way, if there was even a glimmer, a speck of a change that they could change that would change her fate, but it was set in stone, they both knew that - and so it had to be, it had to happen, because others would die, and that’s what they did. They saved people. Chewing on the inner of her lip, her green eyes twinkling with the tears she was now holding whilst the other let them flow. She could leave, right now - as the other had her back turned, she could make the decision and go, just like that, with this being their final moment. Tears and heart break. Perhaps - if it were another face she would be able to, but this one, this one showed all emotion on her features, in her body, without needing to say anything to River, she couldn’t leave. Not yet. “Darling...” she whispered, snaking her hands around the woman’s shoulders, embracing her from behind. “I once started another universe to make sure that you didn’t die. So that you knew how much I loved you - if there was another way... I would never let this happen...”
rxversxng:
She’d always known that she was going to die because of the Doctor, always had accepted the fact that one day she would meet a Doctor that didn’t know her, and that wouldn’t fall in love with her because his heart belonged to someone else, she would be something of a speck in his life until they met properly… but she would prove to whatever incarnation it was that she was important… with her death… Even though it pained her more than anything River knew she had to go. She needed to help these people. If it hadn’t been for a malfunction of her vortex manipulator she would have never met this incarnation of her love anyway, but it had been the universes last thank you before she met her end. She could accept that - but she wouldn’t push it, she couldn’t do that - not after everything they had done - how many times had they saved the universe from each other? Now was not the time to start another universe, even if it would save her life, it could kill billions of others. River shook her head gently, her eyes still pooling with tears. “No my love, not this time.” she swallowed hard. A smile on her lips as she gave the other woman’s hands a squeeze. “Goodbyes aren’t always forever, they’re simply wishing the other good health until the next time they see each other.” she thinned her lips, scrunching her nose. “You’ll see me again Doctor, even if it’s just in your memories. That’ll be me, reminding you I love you.”
“Why can’t you just come with me?” the Doctor sobbed, dropping River’s hands and holding both of her hands in her hair as she paced around. She knew the answer to that question. River had to die. It was part of her story. Her diary was coming to an end, there were only a few pages left and they both knew it.
She turned her back to River, not wanting her wife to see her cry. Showing her vulnerability was still a problem for her nowadays. The Doctor rubbed her eyes, eventually placing her hands on her hips and looking down to the ground. She was completely at loss for words.
Maybe this was a nightmare and they were both fast asleep in the TARDIS. She pinched her own arm and flinched when it hurt. No, it wasn’t a nightmare. This was reality. Her shoulders shook gently as she finally let go of all the tears she had been holding, letting them stream down her cheeks with her back still towards her wife.

For once River couldn’t blame herself for the mess in front of her... a couple of dead bodies and a cyberman later she wasn’t to know that there was going to be a whole new hybrid race living under the surface of this once dead planet - how did she get herself into this? She’d sent out a call - hoping that one of the Doctor’s would receive it, it wasn’t like he couldn’t be there at any given moment... like he was busy or anything, she almost laughed at her thought as a woman appeared in front of her. A little startled River blinked at the other, eyeing her for a moment. “I wouldn’t want to if I were you - probably best if you leave, I’ve got help coming.”

Jenny was out for a peaceful stroll on the most recent planet she hopped to, when her alarm start going of about a distress signal. Not necessarily for her specifically, but she always showed up in case she could help anyways, so off she went with a slight glance around to make sure no one saw her just up and disappear.
Moments later she landed, ‘thankfully not in a wall this time’, she looked around and nodded slightly, “Alright, let’s find the trouble.”

River watched as he moved, following his body’s movements, heat rising in her body. Oh how she loved seeing him like this. Slowly she made her way over to him, eyes running down his body again. “Tell me what you want today, beg for it.”

“Well let me go and get my cat suit and whip and we can begin.” she smirked, winking in his direction before slipping into the depths of the TARDIS closet.

River watched Missy for a moment, before quirking an eyebrow. It wasn’t often that River could really look at the woman, her manic movement seemed to make that something of a hard ship, but there was something about her, River couldn’t quite put her finger on it – perhaps it was the situation… she shook off the thoughts and tilted her head a little at the woman’s words. Can I trust her? She thought before looking down to her pocket. “You’re going to have to come closer.” her hands struggling against the restraints. “wonder why they didn’t take this off of you - I’ve not got my gun, or my vortex manipulator…”
🔒 (ALL OF THE MISSY AND RIVER)
“Well, could have been worse I suppose..” Missy stated as she tried to get her hands free from the handcuffs to try and find a way to get out of the cell. She wished she would have been alone but no, River had to be there too.
Not only she had to share a rather small cell with the woman she hated to most, but she would have to try and not kill her because of the Doctor. Perfect.
