i never liked the heat of summer

the smell of the hot black top gave me no joy

so when i was told i would burn forever

for thinking her laugh sounds like something worth fighting for

i hid it away, it’s not worth forever in flames

then one day, i met a girl, who’s laugh was not only something worth fighting for,

her smile made me warm and i loved it

her touch lit me on fire and i couldn’t get enough

she tasted like home and i couldn’t imagine burning forever wouldn’t be worth it

if i have to burn forever, it would be rewarding for the love i get daily from her

i worship a new god, and her laugh are my psalms, her sighs are my hymns

her body is my temple and i will stay on my knees until i feel the flames of hell

and it will be worth it.
