the thing is that tuas previous partner was never given a chance to say whether or not she would support tua thru a high risk/geriatric pregnancy. i tried not to include too much about nora given that a) they didnt date for super long and b) i didnt want to clue into what nora would have wanted either way. ultimately tua is the final say on what happens, but. it means Something that tua was so afraid to tell nora. and part of it might be the self-sacrificing thing - i made a mistake and this is my cross to bear, ill lose my job but nora doesnt deserve that - but a healthy chunk of it is that tua was scared that nora might say yes. and then they’d have someone who prioritizes them, who she can rely on, and who supports them any way she can. which tua is terrified of - that unconditional love
