Glimmerbrook Royal Banquet

The Glimmerbrook Royal Family held a Royal Banquet on New Year’s Eve to formally announce Crown Princess Agnes Vlcek as the heir of Queen Jaromira. The royals of Windenburg, King Layton and Queen Consort Autumn, as well as the royals of Newcrest, Queen Adrienne and her niece and heir, Clarissa, were in attendance. The royals of Forgotten Hollow were noticeably absent. Speculation swirls whether they were not invited or whether they chose not to come. Either way, it shows that there is tension between the two kingdoms who have only been at peace for a little over ten years.

A Royal Announcement

The Royal Family of Glimmerbrook is happy to announce the birthday of Crown Princess Agnes Vlcek. They will be releasing a new family portrait in the next few days. For now, they have released a picture of CP Agnes. Happy Birthday to our future Queen, and long live Queen Jaromira!

Diary of Eliska Bobal (fall 5 (Harvestfest))

Dear Diary,

Harvestfest was awful! I had high hopes, but I guess they were too high. Still, I got to bump shoulders with royals and celebrities! Oh no! I forgot to ask King Layton of Windenburg for an autograph! Oh well. We are allies, so I’m sure I will see him again. 

I also got to see the infamous Queen Adrienne of Newcrest. Supposedly, she poisoned her father as soon as he named her heir over her younger brother! Then, to keep her place, she killed her TWIN brother! How horrible is that?! Still, she didn’t look like a homicidal maniac. Who knows?

Princess Clarissa, the niece of Queen Adrienne? She danced with Mikula at the Harvestfest dinner! It was soooooo cute! Dobromil must have thought so too, cause he snapped a picture. I told him once I got there that I’m keeping a diary, so he’s been printing off the pictures he takes and giving them to me. Isn’t that sweet of him?! I hope I can find someone as caring as Dobromil...

Look how cute they look!!! I also saw Queen Adrienne and Queen Jaromira looking at them and whispering on the couch. I wonder what they are planning?

Okay, so maybe Harvestfest wasn’t so bad after all! I also got to see papa. Even though he is just down the road, I don’t get to see him very much. I’m so busy with my studies you know. 

It’s getting late, I should probably hit the sack.

The Diary of Eliska Bobal (summer, day 7)

Dear Diary,

Guess what?! I made it! You may be wondering what “it” is, well I’ll tell you. The royal family of Glimmerbrook (you know, the kingdom papa and I live in?) always picks a teenage girl to come live with the royal family and learn from them. In exchange we take care of their children, do the laundry, stuff like that. Oops, I guess I spilled the beans! Yup, Queen Jaromira picked little old me! 

Shortly after I arrived these people from this Del Sol Valley magazine started swarming the palace, I guess it had something to do with the new alliance. Glimmerbrook is a small country, so we usually don’t get this kind of attention. I guess the Queen isn’t used to it either, cause she got really mad at them, and she was even madder when the magazine came out. Glimmerbrook is a poorer kingdom, so the royal family doesn’t really have the money to hire guards. We’ve been locking the doors at night, just in case. 

Prince Consort Dobromil insists I call him by his name instead of his title. Little Princess Agnes Likes being called Princess though. I don’t know if she knows that she will be Queen one day, but I bet she doesn’t. She would be marching around giving people orders if she knew! 

The other day, I accidently walked in on Queen Jaromira ad Dobromil kissing! She called him “Romey!” Isn’t that so cute?!

Anyway, Dobromil likes to take pictures, so I have a lot to put in here. I’ll add captions to them too!

A Royal Marriage!

An official message from the royal families of Windenburg and Glimmerbrook:

King Layton and Queen Consort Autumn of Windenburg and Queen Jaromira and Prince Consort Dobromil of Glimmerbrook would like to announce that a treaty between the two nations has been signed. They will support each other in times of war, which both sides hope will never come. There will also be a lower tax on items coming from Glimmerbrook to Windenburg and vice versa, helping merchants and farmers from both countries. 

To seal the treaty, both sides have offered up one of their children in marriage. Crown Princess Agnes Vlcek will marry the youngest son of the King and Queen Consort of Windenburg, Prince Erich. Both sides would like to make it clear that this does not join the two kingdoms. CP Agnes is the heir to the Glimmerbrook throne and CP Henry Steinberg is the heir to the Windenburg throne, not his brother Prince Erich.

Two sim days ago, Queen Jaromira and Prince Consort Dobromil welcomed the newest edition to their family: Crown Princess Agnes Vlcek. After aging up to a toddler, the royal family says she immediately showed an interest in dance, particularly ballet.

Třpytivý Potok - Glimmerbrook

So, I am going to be switching gears a little bit. Since this blog is so new, I think I can get away with it... 

This is the royal family of Třpytivý Potok (tree-pee-tee po-tak), known in game as Glimmerbrook. I will probably be referring to this kingdom as Glimmerbrook, but it can be referred to as either, just so everyone knows! They are Czech. For those who don’t know, the Czech Republic is an Eastern European country that is absolutely beautiful and I hope to travel to someday. Why Czech? My father is fully Czech, he is able to trace both sides of his family back to the boat that left Bohemia (a region in the Czech Republic, right next to Germany). But enough about me and my family, you want to hear about the Vlcek family!

Queen Jaromira Vlcek: Born in a time of peace, she grew up during the spellcaster-vampire war. (Count Vladislaus instigated the war in order to make himself king as Glimmerbrook ruled over Forgotten Hollow. While he did become king, the vampires soon tired of war and overthrew him, putting King Peter Betancourt on the Forgotten Hollow throne). Jaromira was a teenager when her parents were killed in battle and she was quickly crowned Queen. Her husband, Prince Consort Dobromil, went through the same situation with his parents as a child and helped the new Queen get through this tough time. It was also Dobromil who helped her approach the vampires of Forgotten Hollow and make a peace treaty. Queen Jaromira has vowed that her kingdom will never be at war again, not as long as she lives. 

Prince Consort Dobromil: As a child, Dobromil had two loving parents. They were poor, but they made it through all that. Then, one day, the vampires of Forgotten Hollow raided Glimmerbrook. His parents hid Dobromil in the closet. It was the Prince Consort of Glimmerbrook (Jaromira’s father) who found poor Dobromil. They then brought him to live with them, seeing as he had no more family left. He became friends with Princess Jaromira, and when her own parents were killed, he consoled her, which was when romance began to bloom. Dobromil helped the new Queen broker a peace treaty with the vampires. As soon as they were old enough, they married. Soon afterwards, a little prince was on the way...

Prince Mikula: Mikula was born roughly a sim year after the war was over. He’s a wild toddler that always succeeds in making his parents smile. His mother, an avid painter, loves to paint pictures of her son. But soon she will be getting a new muse....

Things to know: 

Prince Mikula is ineligible to take the throne unless his parents have only boys (no, the Czechs are not necessarily Matriarchal, but I decided to make my Czech sims that way, just for a little variety.)

Glimmerbrook and Forgotten Hollow are much smaller than the other kingdoms because most of their land was terribly destroyed during the war

Yes, the royal family of Glimmerbrook is expecting (I do have MC Command Center by Deaderpool but it will be a surprise)

We will still see some of the Newcrest royal family, as well as the other royal families in my game, but we will strongly focus on the Glimmerbrook royal family

Glimmerbrook (despite its name) is not a rich kingdom. So, you won’t see a lot of “bling” on the royals. But, like everything, that may change eventually...

Chapter 3

Life goes on for the royal family of Newcrest. Eric and Adrienne become teenagers, Autumn becomes a child, and Lucia accidentally gets pregnant (whoops). For the rest of the family, this is a happy affair, but Eric is terrified. King Eric and Queen Consort Lucia are soulmates. He doesn’t know what he would do without her.

Meanwhile, Princess Adrienne concentrates on her studies while Prince Eric parties it up with Willow Creek’s resident Party-girl-Princess, Chloe Strange. After several meetings, they exchange promise rings! It seems like life can’t get any better for this royal family.

Then, what King Eric was dreading finally happened. Lucia gave birth to a son named Easton. At first, it seemed like King Eric was wrong about the curse, but, not too long after the birth, Lucia became Hysterical. 

When Queen Consort Lucia finally passed, everyone was devastated, everyone, save Prince Eric. In fact, he was happy. To him, no one could replace the mother he never got a chance to know. 

Adrienne confronted her father. She is smart and connected the dots. King Eric admitted to his daughter that their family is cursed. It was at that moment that Adrienne knew she would never marry, no matter what. If the family name died with her, that also meant the curse would die with her too. 

Because of Prince Eric’s apathy, King Eric disowned his son as heir. Still, he was not ready to name Princess Adrienne as his heir. We shall just have to see...

Chapter 2

King Eric turned to his trusted advisor, Duke Ralph Randolph. Needless to say, the Duke suggested his own daughter, who had just turned into a Young Adult. While it was originally an arranged marriage, Lucia (Randolph) Newcomb and King Eric Newcomb became soulmates quickly. 

Lucia, a master Piano player, loved to tutor Adrienne as a child. Adrienne also loved these lessons and they quickly became good friends. 

Eric Jr. was hard to win over, and even at her death, Junior refused to cry, in fact, he was happy. Lucia had been nothing but kind to him, and still, he felt no emotion. 

When King Eric and Queen Consort Lucia first tried to expand their family, they were disappointed. But, a few sim days later, they tried once again and this time they were greeted with joyful news! Lucia was expecting! While Eric appeared happy for Lucia’s sake, there was doubt in his mind. He was worried that Annabeth’s death had something to do with giving birth. He wasn’t sure yet, but he was determined to find out. 

When Lucia gave birth to a girl, Autumn, everyone was joyful, except Eric. He was waiting. When nothing happened, he could finally relax. He had figured it out! Now that there were three children, Lucia and Eric would not have to risk any more pregnancies. Or, so Eric thought...

Hello everyone! Now, I’ve been playing this file for a couple days (several hours a day...) so I am a bit along. So, let me catch y’all up! 

Chapter 1

The male sim in the picture is HRH King Eric I of Newcrest with his first wife Queen Consort Annabeth. (Now, you may be thinking, “What? FIRST wife?” Yes I know, I will get there) The King and Queen quickly settled into their new home and soon they were expecting! However, Eric’s family has a dark secret that Eric was never told. Eric never knew his mother, because she died soon after he was born. In fact, she laughed to death. 

Every woman in Eric’s family (including those who marry into the family) die of laughter after giving birth to a boy. They were cursed long ago, and no one knows of a cure.

So, when Annabeth gave birth to twins, a girl and a boy, the young couple was elated! However, soon afterwards, Annabeth became hysterical. She tried to calm down in the mirror, but to no avail. King Eric helplessly watched as his young wife laughed to death, leaving Adrienne and Eric Jr. without a mother. After the servant helped him out of his grief, Eric realized that his two children would need a mother figure in their lives, which leads us to our next chapter...
