@pyramidatlantic is celebrating its one year anniversary in the new Hyattsville location THIS FRIDAY 23rd 6-9pm with "One Year Later" a show curated by Molly Rupert. The list of artists participating is freakin amazing and all the work in under $365. I have been playing with carving lino blocks for about a year now as well, and it was love at first print 💃🏽💃🏽 Pyramid has been a solid rock for print arts in the DMV for years....thrilled they are still going strong and better than ever ⚡️⚡️This even is free and open to the public come on!!!!

On the flipside of ten days in Karachi, Pakistan with the project "Magnets of Creativity; Public Art in Pakistan" the brainchild of @wordsbeatsandlife. I was honored to teach workshops and paint murals in a beautiful country with beautiful people. We were welcomed with open arms to schools, centers and an artist commune. I watched in horror as borders were tightened and had conversations in real time with families potentially severed by this senseless and ignorant move. Time now to digest/reflect/collect/act. Buy first! Digest. Because I will not let my anger cloud the incredible vibes/passion/energy we received from students and support from the work we did. Thank you Karachi, thank you to the people I met for showing the true side of Pakistan that doesn't get enough light in our distorted media. It was a absolute pleasure 🙏🏽🙏🏽✨✨

Little painting I made as a thank you to Michelle and her family for hosting me in San Cristobal, Alta Verapaz. I used the Lino block of the Nebaj Indigenous woman as the center, hibiscus flowers found all around the region (and used for tasty tea) in various colors and corn, the center of the Mayan culture used for food, ceremony and prayer. Grateful for the time spent with a Pocomchi family. The resilience and resistance of the Guatemalan Mayan Indigenous communities through a history of attempted extinction (most recently through proxy wars by US CIA capitalist interests) is truly incredible. I hope this is the first of many trips to Guatemala.
