thinking about what the difference would be between a "faller" or just wormhole traveler in pkmn universe. besides just protagonist immunity. bc its not like rainbow rocket leaders lost their memories being sent to another timeline, nor anyone through hoopa rings on pasio

personally, i feel like the key difference is intent, maybe. having a point a and b; does the universe youre entering have room for you? in a 4th wall way, there cant be duplicates of someone in the same "game"

fallers happen entirely by accident, even overwriting the "original" version of themselves in that particular world. can recall bits and pieces of before, but this is who they are now. but then its interesting to imagine like, do the regular equivalents of the rr leaders not exist globally outside of alola? do things just exist in or out of a mega timeline? is each region to be treated like a little pocket of time instead of a simultaneous world- what a player can see takes priority above all else?

all that just to say, caris just questions what players already do with ease. soft reset, control outcomes, seek rare pokemon with precision. and ironically, as an oc i think they have their own kind of immunity: theres no other caris's in "official" timelines to replace anyway when traveling, so there'd always be "room" for them at their destination

itd take a mishap on the way to a destination wormhole for them to be properly categorized as a "faller"….
