Samurai Champloo, now with more Jin x Mugen. Tokugawa Era queers never looked this good—or behaved this violently, for that matter. /

You gave us canon era headcanons, but i would love to hear you modernday!au headcanons!
WOWOWOWOWOW BOY DO I HAVE A LOT BUT HERES THEIR FIRST MEETING SORT OF??????? man if you want more i can give more
i always had this image of mugen being some kind of petty thief
that being said i imagine jin to be the bored rich kid who decides to stop being an heir for once in his life and to go around doing part time jobs like a ~*~ronin~*~, except now hes just a bored young adult (no shame or anything, so i suppose jin is more apathetic than remorseful)
so mugen one day decides to rob a convenience store right
and that convenience store happens to be the one jin works at right
and when jin refuses to give him cash and mugen threatens violence and jin stands his ground without any hint of fear at all that throws mugen off
FIST FIGHTING ENSUES
but mugen cant quite finish the job because jins already slammed the button to get the police coming to the store and their strengths are too equally matched
so he keeps coming back to the little convenience store jin works at to keep trying to succeed in stealing from him
and eventually jin doesnt even bother calling the cops any more and they just go at it and its the most interesting time jins ever had in his entire life
one unrelated headcanon (at least in regards to that wall of text i just put up there) that i feel is Very Important is that mugen uses snapchat too much and jin only has snapchat for mugens stories and once jin sent mugen a snapchat to Try It Out because mugens been annoying him to “just send one already fucking four eyes” and its an empty plate and the black bar says ‘lunch’ and mugen laughs so hard he never lets that go ever and jin hates himself for it

Their shared need for the one impossible fight or foe is what binds Mugen and Jin together. Each is the only man that the other cannot kill, and they attract and repel each other with the inevitability and force of the lead couple in any romantic comedy.

I'm so sad there was only one season. I loved the style and the characters (especially Mugen holy hell) :( do you recommend anything that can compare to samurai champloo?
Hello, poor-mans-heroin! I'm not exactly an anime buff (I really only care about Samurai Champloo right now... UH...), but if you liked SamCham a lot then I do suggest Cowboy Bebop! Most people would. It's directed by the same guy who did Champloo, so it's got the same off-beat humour and quirky characters. While Champloo combines the Tokugawa Era and hip-hop and Okinawan culture and such, Bebop combines the Western genre and science-fiction--which sounds weird, but it's good. Basically it's about a group of bounty hunters travelling on their spaceship, the Bebop.
Besides that, I also recommend Gin Tama, which is also a Tokugawa Era piece but adds the element of aliens. Seriously. Like, the samurai of Japan fight against aliens and everything. But then the Shogun realises they'll never win and betrays the country by surrendering, and then a contract is made that lets the aliens come and go as they please... but samurai are prohibited from wielding swords. The main character is this samurai guy trying to get by with part-time jobs so he can pay his monthly rent. It's a pretty funny anime, in a nice weird way.
Those're the only two I have in mind currently, but if anyone else has got any recommendations, feel free to leave a message or something!

I squealed so hard when I discovered this blog! (*´∇`*) Thank you for making it! Finally, my OTP has a dedicated shrine. 💝💝💝💝
You're welcome!
I was in desperate need of a Jin/Mugen blog myself (mostly because you see so little shippy stuff of them on Tumblr--especially compared to the Mugen/Fuu and Jin/Fuu stuff out there), so I figured I might as well make one. And now here we are.
Thank you, too, for this message! :D Hope we can be friends~
