Given that there is technically three endings to FC5, Irene hails from the ending where Joseph Seed was right, that smug son of a bitch. The world did come to an end, in a hail storm of death chaos and NUKES.

Mind you, that’s the last thing that Irene remembers, is watching the horizon change and a blast of wind so strong the church and it’s wooden paneling was almost taken right off the foundation; let alone herself and the others that all toppled over.

 Despite it being quite some time since she found herself in a new part of the states, she still is incredibly paranoid that she’ll be face to face with the cult and the consequences of what happened.

There’s a hell of a lot of guilt eating away at her, knowing that Joseph was right. After all the people she killed in the name of protecting Hope County from said cult. Let alone the deaths of Jacob and John.

Irene does suffer from bouts of PTSD via her time in Hope County. After all killing countless people, police officer or not, running for your life from grizzly bears and drugged up wolves -- yeah she’s a little off

Although part of her wants to join the force here in Mystic Falls, or be somewhat productive of getting back to her own world, she hesitates. Several reasons, but mainly because she’s TERRIFIED of this all being a dream. Or purgatory.

-- & When one finds themselves in the face of literal chaos, dangerous and destruction, one finds the nearest bar humanly possible with the intent of getting drunk and forgetting everything that’s happened in the last two weeks. Which is exactly what Irene is in the process of doing, sitting in one of the small leather booths, on her third beer. Her prior interactions with Faith and John had certainly messed with her head but everything was relatively fine until she got wind of someone else making their way to LA; and while she’d originally thought that confronting him would be a good idea. Guess what, it fucking wasn’t. Never EVER, confront Jacob Seed.

 Her mind was an absolute mess as of right now. Swimming in flashes of blood, guns popping off and the echo of DEVASTATION. The constant reminder that Joseph had been right was perched atop the head of every Seed, and each time she saw them that’s all she thought about. Despite all the fighting, despite thinking he was insane he had been right. Which meant that the other Seeds were in the right for everything they did, and that’s not a fact that Irene’s mind can cope with. Hence the drinking and stuffing her face with bar fries, gaze briefly studying those in the bar before falling back to her basket; ignoring the onset of footsteps approaching. She already knew who it was.

I realized I forgot one, where he says “Deputy” in reference to Hudson during the bunker scene, and it’s one where he emphasizes the syllables the most. Damn.

-- & You would think after being through a multitude of death and destruction, week pressing on week, that one would be relatively okay with the crap here in LA that continued to unfold. For a long while she had been, the worst thing Irene had to deal with was the odd homicide case but thus far she’d only dealt with one and it had been incredibly straight forward. Nothing like living with CULT murderers for months on end to get you used to murder, right? Then everything started to change and people from Hope County started to show up, people that by all accounts should be rotting in the ground --- or B U R N T ten times over.

 Instead she’d had one hell of a run in with the siren of the famous family, once that continued to haunt her since. Christ, she’d been in the middle of paper work for a case she was closing when she’d found herself thinking about Faith. About all of the Seeds really, about how likely it was to have the others show up and if it happened, how was she supposed to react? Better yet, would any of her friends keep showing up? Sharky? Hurk Jr? God she hoped that she would see Virgil again. What she wouldn’t give to see his stupid smiling face, to have that damn button pressing into her skin with each running step she took through the woods of Hope County.

 Striking sapphire catches in the falling sun, cock sure swagger of a man whom was supposed to be six feet under. F e a r practically knocks her on her ass, visibly shaken with a step back but it doesn’t last long. Fluid motion with the grace of a TRAINED assassin, there’s a voice in the back of her mind that she knows very well, praising her -- she’s so very s t r o n g. The barrel’s pointed square towards broad chest, jaw locking as gaze attempts to remained averted; she can’t avoid it forever.
