How an unaired 9-1-1: Lone Star pilot scene finally made it to screens 5 seasons later
As the 9-1-1: Lone Star team started to envision the series' final episodes, they thought back to the Fox drama's beginning.
Raisani says
I was thinking the only thing that could get Owen to leave his son and leave this firehouse that he loves so much would be an even greater sense of calling So we planted the seed that New York needs him again — specifically the children of some of the guys who he was their captain. We thought that would put him in a nice tension to pull us through these last four episodes. And what more potent way to show that than to finally use the footage from the memorial
But nothing is ever easy on Lone Star. To make the most of that "tension," first Raisani wanted to lull Owen into a false sense of accomplishment.
We wanted to make Owen think, 'Okay, I’ve kind of fulfilled my duty: my son, TK, is thriving, and my firehouse is thriving, so I’m not really needed here anymore
says the co-showrunner, who then pulled the rug out from under Owen by revealing Judd is struggling with alcohol abuse.

‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Scoop on ‘Apocalyptic’ Final Episodes: Tarlos’ Major Issue, Death & More
And sure, there’s a massive emergency—an asteroid heading for Austin—but there’s also quite a bit left to wrap up about the characters as well. there’s the matter of T.K. and Carlos adopting T.K.’s half-brother Jonah as well as what’s ahead for the rest of the first responders. TV Insider turned to co-showrunner Rashad Raisani for the scoop.
How much are we going to see T.K. and Carlos trying to balance being parents and balancing work? They have family, but at the same time, they are the primary caretakers now of this kid.
You’re putting your finger right on the end of the series is all I’ll tell you about that. That becomes a major issue, let’s put it that way
Do they have time for themselves as a couple?
They will, I’ll put it that way, but I won’t tell you how
What else can you tease about the final three episodes for the characters and their relationships?
The thing that I can say is that everyone in the last two episodes gets pushed to their extreme limit—and some past it, to be honest. We have some of our most insane apocalyptic emergencies in 11 and 12. It’s basically a combination of The Last of Us and Chernobyl. It mirrors where all of the characters are, and most of them are in an apocalyptic space for one reason or another
T.K. and Carlos, they are not done with—yeah, they want to adopt Jonah, but it’s not that easy, and there’s going to be a major fundamental hurdle for them that they’re going to have to make a significant life decision to decide how they want to deal with it. I think everybody’s going to have some big game-changing moments in the final three episodes

Andrew Matarazzo (“Teen Wolf”) is co-writing and will star in “Roses,” an 1800s-set spaghetti Western-style short.
Directed and co-written by Alexander Rain, “Roses” will co-star Ronen Rubinstein (“9-1-1: Lone Star”) and Orlando Pineda (“Griselda” and “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story”). Filming begins on Dec. 16.
The movie’s official synopsis reads
Two outlaws (Matarazzo and Rubinstein), once close partners in crime, find themselves at odds when a once-in-a-lifetime bounty comes into play. But what seems like a simple betrayal is complicated by their deep bond and shared history, leading to a heartbreaking choice between the loot or their friendship.
