WRONG

Baking is more specific if you're doing something super technical, like fancy pastry. But if you're just doing the standard household baking like cookies, muffins, cake and bread you CAN jazz it up and don't let anyone tell you you can't.

'Yeah but it'd be SO BAD if I forgot *insert MAIN ingredient*' like yeah, that's like if you made spaghetti bolognaise without the fucking spaghetti obviously it's shit.

Lemon zest is to baking what garlic is to cooking. (It's never enough)

Vanilla extract/ cinnamon is to baking what spicy peppers are to cooking. (Really good but DONT USE TOO MUCH)

Baking soda is to baking what salt is to cooking. (You may not notice putting it in but you'll KNOW if you forgot to add it)

Cake is one of the MOST versatile things you can make in a kitchen. My advice? Learn a plain cake recipe you know you love and modify. Also if you REALLY don't want to mess with the actual cake because you're scared of making inedible goo just mess around with the fillings.

If words from a person from the past are labeled 'ahead of its time' you must ask yourself is it really?

Or is it just that we glorify the past so much that we assume our ancestors were incapable of experiences centered around emotional depth.

Just because things may have been socially taboo/ not deemed worthy of recording by scholars of the time, does not mean they didn't exist. Surviving examples may be few but that cannot be taken to imply that at the time it was rare.
