Coming up on the end of S2 of transformers and there are a couple of scenes where Starscream is shown repairing the other Decepticons.

I think what happened is that early in the war guys started coming to him like 'hey starscream you're a scientist right? Can you reattach my arm?' and initially he was like Ew no I'm not a doctor I'm a xenobiologist leave me alone but after a while it clicked that these idiots think his space PHD makes him an authority on all branches of science and he loves being in charge of stuff so he's just rolling with it.
