Covelle & Covelle – Choosing The Right Tactics
Skill, Tactics, Composure As Bob Covelle reveals, Italy, like many other countries in Europe, is known for cultivating a lesser known sport that in the summer months across Europe can be seen being played in parks all over the continent. In England, they call it boules, in France petanque, and in Italy, bocce. It is a sport that has had its rules refined and cultivated over thousands of years of playing by Europeans, and thankfully was brought over to the US by Italian immigrants who were among the first wave of immigrants to reach the New World. Today, it is still practiced by many Italian- American communities, who relish the sport as much as a social occasion to spend time with family and friends than as a competitive rivalry. So how exactly does bocce work? Well, in principle it is fairly simple. The aim is to throw the metal balls as close to the small yellow ball, or the 'pill', in order to achieve points for the team. The more balls one team has closer to he pill, the more points they gain. It is a hugely addictive sport, and requires skill, tactics and composure to help get the best results. (For further instructions about this extraordinarily addictive pastime, please see ' Covelle & Covelle, Public Accountant In Stoneham, MA). Indeed, Bob Covelle is the captain of the team COVELLE, started by his father, who play in the Italian-American league at a very competitive level. The team is made up of Bob himself, his best friend, his son, nephew and his best friend. They are a tight knit team, who have played some memorable matches in their time - tasting the bitter ashes of defeat as well as drinking deeply from the bowl of victory. Bob Covelle is an extremely competent player, and as the captain enjoys going first to set the standard. Setting the first throw is important as it can dictate the course of the rest of the game. Twenty nine other teams compete in the league, and whilst team COVELLE are not number one, they are certainly up there with the best. As Covelle & Covelle on Facebook details, Robert Covelle is an Italian-American sports enthusiast, who takes every opportunity to play the competitive leagues in bocce within his community. As part of the Italian-American Citizens Club in Malden, MA, Bob Covelle has followed in the footsteps of his father, who also passionately played the sport. Indeed, it was his father who originated the team within the club's league. For Bob Covelle, one of the best things about bocce is that it gives him a chance to spend valuable time with family members and friends.Bob Covelle is an extremely competent player, and as the captain enjoys going first to set the standard. Setting the first throw is important as it can dictate the course of the rest of the game. Bob Covelle – a man who affirms his past, his culture and traditions, while looking forward to the future
Bob Covelle is a citizen in the true sense of the word. It isn’t every other person who can sustain the energy required for a busy job, spend time with a large family and simultaneously affirm his or her citizenship of the US by actively affirming both citizenship and cultural heritage. But this is exactly what Bob Covelle is able to do. He is a member of the Italian-American citizens club, just like his father before him. He celebrates the country that his ancestors left to arrive on the shores of the New World and he celebrates the country that his ancestors contributed to creating after they arrived.
A man with both roots and wings
It is important to be free to go anywhere, but it is important to remember the place you left from and this is a philosophy that Bob Covelle embodies so admirably. Through his active membership of the Italian-American citizens club, he celebrates the traditions and culture of the country his family originated from. And at the same time, his love for his country is always apparent. Bob Covelle plays bocce which is a ball game that has its roots in the Roman Empire, was developed in Italy and is played by Italians all over the world. He passes on his love for bocce and Italian culture to his large family which includes 6 grand-children and several close friends as well.
Bob Covelle is truly a citizen of the world and a human being with both roots and wings. He has a strong sense of his own values and does not allow himself to be swayed by the tendencies and orientations of the day. He is able to evaluate new ideas on their own merits and weigh up the pros and cons of adopting them. This is not to say that Bob Covelle does not like change. He is after all the descendent of people who risked one of the greatest changes of all – giving up life in a country they knew to move to an unknown continent. Bob Covelle is someone who welcomes the new when it adds to what he already has. His many and diverse interests testify to his curiosity and openness to the world. His strong family ties testify to his belief in tradition and loyalty.

Robert Covelle’s Tax Advice
Robert Covelle is an accountant who runs his own public practice from Stanhope, Massachusetts, and has worked to reduce taxes for Boston Tomato Company, Barneke & Anderson, LLP, and Somerville Housing Authority. Although this array of work experience is within very different industries, his role was always to ensure that as much revenue as possible was saved on taxation. This is not an easy task, and requires meticulous attention to changes in taxation law. In the past fifteen years there have been over 4,000 changes made to the United States’ tax code. With over 20 years of experience, Covelle now knows the ins and outs of the taxation system and his clients can be rest assured that he will strive to find the best practices for them to minimize the amount of money themselves or their businesses have to sacrifice to tax.
The advice he ultimately gives any person or business seeking to lower their tax liability is to enlist professional advice. Over half of Americans seek a tax expert to help prepare their tax returns, and they are able to reap the benefits. There are many small methods which contribute to savings on taxation. Bob Covelle is able to decipher the best payment times in order to work around current legislation monthly in order to maintain savings. Mortgage payers should make January’s payment in December, state estimate taxes are best paid each quarter with January’s payment made in December, charitable donations should be made before the end of the year in check, etc. Intelligent timing can ultimately mean a lot in savings.
This is as important for small businesses as it is for large corporations. Income and expenses can be shifted, so if you advise your customers to pay you in January and pay all of your expenses in December you will reduce tax liability for the year. Bob Covelle also assists self-employers in setting up their 401K, and advises employees on how to best take advantage of employer flexible spending accounts on expenses in child care and education.
Robert Covelle is a hard worker because he understands how limited businesses and individuals can be by taxation restraints. It is not however a minefield if you seek help from a professional who will be able to implement simple practices which will in the long run have a huge effect on revenue retained.

Bob Covelle & the Italian Game of Bocce in Massachusetts
Bocce is a an old Italian game whose origins hark back many centuries, and bears strong resemblance to the French equivalent of boules. It is still widely played in the land of pasta, pizza and wine, however also has followings much further afield. Italian migrants have passed down to their descendents and the wider community a love for the traditional ball game. In the United States, South America, Australia and Italy’s neighboring countries there are fans of the little known but much enjoyed game.
Robert Covelle runs his own accountancy firm in Stanhope, Massachusetts, and also manages a family owned real estate organization, however in his free time plays bocce at the Italian American Citizens Club in Malden, Massachusetts. Although he is quite competitive - always preferring to shoot first to get the best chance at proximity with the ball - the reason he does it is not really to win. Bocce has always been for him a family game, his father was a long time member and he currently captains the ‘Covelle’ team. His best friend, son, nephew, and brother-in-law regularly get together to play. The league they are part of is no small feat, with 29 teams playing weekly.
Covelle does his best to describe the rules of play:
4 player teams line up and take turns throwing a larger bocce ball. The aim is to get it close to the smaller yellow ball, called the ‘pill’. Each team alternates throwing, based on proximity to the pill. Each throw receives a score from 1-4 and the first team to reach 12 points wins. Apparently competition is fierce within this Northeastern league, although it is not quite at the level of its country of origin - in Italy the game has its own federation and regular tournaments are held nationwide.
This marks only one of the Italian American Citizens Club’s endeavours, whose charter is to advance Italian traditions in America. True to their nationality their main objective at the club is to foster a family friendly environment, hosting various traditional social and educational functions which includes wine tastings and parties. While it was his father that lead him there Bob Covelle now enjoys an active family life with his children and is now the proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren.
