rkxjongsuk:
that’s what makes him him at trc. he’s the friendly easter bunny of trc and as a senior trainee, he aims to make sure that everyone feels welcome and at home at trc because he remembers what it was like for him. he had joined trc and had felt pretty alone at the time, now he was in a different space though.
he matches her wide smile as well and nods.
“I am indeed. Mga sunbaenim! “ he nods and bows politely to her as well. “no need to be so formal. you can just call me oppa,” he says, with a grin. yeah, he had been there for a quite a while and the third season had been a long time ago but he was here now.
he grins. “you’re welcome. im trc’s unofficial easter bunny!” he states.
yeji looks up at the male as he confirms her comment, mga sunbae nim. it was just her thought but somehow she had said it outloud but she smiled at how he tells her not to be so formal-- “oppa it is then.
she has always been more comfortable with being famiiar with people anyway and is grateful at the fact that he is the one that breaks that barrier.
“easter bunny?” she blinks, the way he had a title made her curious-- “does all the trainees have their own titles like you do oppa? or is it only you?” it made the gears in her head go around, wondering what kind of titles the others had and also what would her title be if she were to give one to herself, she didn’t want to be tooting her own horn by calling herself pretty or anything but she remembers how during the mgas what she had been praised for.

rkdongmin:
--
“that makes sense,” dongmin agrees easily, though he had never been a participant. “i watched some episodes, and i don’t think i could’ve taken part in a show like that. it must’ve been really grueling – i hope it was worth it though,” he adds afterwards.
the question has him pausing – what did he think of the songs the boys needed to learn. “well, like i said before – i’m not a dancer. i was a model before becoming a trainee,” he laughs, feeling a bit awkward about saying that, not wanting her to think he was boasting or anything. “i didn’t dance much, if at all, so all of them are a bit hard for me. i take it your songs don’t feel too difficult for you, though?”
yeji always wondered what others might be thinking of the last season of the mgas, she wasn’t sure if she felt like a winner at least not when she ha actually gotten around to join trc. the company she had wanted to join, purely for her own interested because she was a fan of k.arma.
“i don’t blame you for not watching it,” she herself hadn’t watched it back, she couldn’t because she found it awkward to watch herself in that setting. how strict she ha been with daniel and how competitive she had felt, she remembered it all and even if she had always been competitive, she truly couldn’t fatom being in that setting again, “it was worth it though, i am here now.”
a small chuckle followed the statement he made that he wasn’t a dancer, it was interesting to her how so many that didn’t really know how to dance, ended up on this path.
“i’m sure you’ll be able to pull through,” she nods, “i don’t want to sound like i am bragging when i say it but no, the dance doesn’t feel challenging but i think overall it’s a nice experience to dance with everyone.”

song & choreo - boom clap / original choreo from the 2nd verse & 2nd chorus ( until 1:00 ) wc: 317 w/o lyrics
it was the day of the eval and yeji finally was ready to perform-- yeji had prepared well this month or at least she thought so. the way she sounded live was also starting to sound better and she could tell that she was improving. who would have thought the girl that didn't feel confident in her singing, now was comfortable performing a song like this, with little dancing in it?
she wondered if the people that left her mean comments back then-- would they be impressed?
though yeji knew that it didn't matter anymore, she knew right now in this moment all that mattered was what the coaches thought of her performance and what she thought.
yeji got into her position and waited for the music to start, she let the music play until the verse started.
you're picture-perfect blue sunbathing on the moon
yeji held the microphone that she was singing into, comfortably not to hard and she sang into it as she had practiced. her diction was clear and confident, all those years in the us had paid off in the end. she got through the first verse with ease and she sang the first chorus as well.
things were changing when it came to the second verse and now she was singing and dancing at the same time, dancing what was she had become known for in the mgas after all and she wanted to show her growth. so yeji had traded a harder choreo for something that would be simple for her to sing but it was surprisingly easy even if the choreo was energetic and fun, she managed to keep the smile on her face the entire time.
the entire performance was ended with her dancing as well-- and she looked at the coaches, she couldn't tell if they were happy with her performance or not but she didn't care at this point.
she was happy with it.

prep - february 2020 schedule wc: 282
sure yeji could have paired up with others for this month's evaluation but she wanted full and complete freedom to decide, what she was to do and how she would do it. first the process of finding a song wasn't as easy as she expected, considering she was supposed to sing and while yeji was a decent singer she wondered if there would be a song appropriate for her to perform-- she wanted a song that maybe started a little slow, had an upbeat chorus and beat. that way she could create her own choreo to the song.
"this is me? no--" yeji couldn't sing that first of all, it was a powerful song and she had already performed it once on the mgas, yeji looke down at the list of her songs that she had written up. choreos weren't difficult for her to come up with it was finding a song that maybe spoke to her.
while she was laying in her bed she let her melon playlist play-- going over so many different songs until it finally landed on an older song but when it had come out she remembered how fun of a song it was.
a song, full of hope for the future and also full of hope for a love.
boom clap-- she wrote it down and started humming along to the melody, it wasn't that, hard of a song to sing, it was within her range and for the chorus she could easily have some fun and then for the second verse she tried to visualize a choreo and then go back to singing and dance the chorus choreo again. she was excited-- this could work.

yoohyeonrk:
yoohyeon doesn’t know what to expect when she approach 1million dance studio to meet with yeji, she has never danced before in her entire life– not seriously, anyway. wearing brand new work out clothes has her feel a little more confident when she pass talented dancers, knowing that she is probably even way, way worse than those who attend the beginners classes.
which is ultimately why she approached yeji in the first place; if there is anyone who can teach someone like yoohyeon how to move her body with some sense of control, it’s definitely going to have to be someone like yeji. while on her merry way through the building she finds herself lost and having to ask for directions, only to be bumping into the dancing queen herself.
“yeji-yah~ i made it,” she greets the other with a tight embrace. “did you wait for long?”
yeji doesn’t have to wait for too long for the other to appear and when she does yeji gives her friend a warm smile, “yes you made it,” she grins widely at the other before shaking her head, “no i didn’t wait too long.”
she felt the cold winter breeze against her cheeks and before yoohyeon could really comment anymore yeji opened the door to the dance studio, “let’s walk inside? it’s cold outside!” yeji waited for the female to walk in before she followed, quickly walking next to the other, a part of her was curious why yoohyeon had wanted to learn to dance but yeji was always happy to help.
the list of people she’s helped was slowly growing as well.
“is there a special style of dance you want to learn? or a choreo?”

━ - ̗̀ familiar faces
walking around trc as usual-- going from one practice area to another, her days seem to be repetitive lately and ( as much as she liked being a trainee ) yeji a need for change. however, she didn’t expect change to come the way it did, with the sight of a familiar face ( @rkseunghun ). someone she hadn’t seen in quite a while-- not since the mgas.
“seunghun oppa?” her eyes widened at the sight of the male, “you are here? in trc?”
yeji felt incredibly lucky for a moment, she was slowly getting around to see her friends in trc, first mason and now seunghun.
in her memory she could still faintly remember the time last year where she had helped the older with his dancing last year-- “did you audition? did you get accepted?? that is why you are here? it is right?”
yeji fired at him with a multitude of questions, unable to hide her excitement. she couldn’t really help it, seeing seunghun was a nice change of pace. how long had she even been a trainee at this point? it was getting close to half a year she was sure of that much and seeing him, made her day better immediately.

rksohee:
[ ✂ ━ ]
when she enters the gym, she can hear ticket playing and for a second, she thinks that the gym has it playing on the speakers at a low volume. it’s faint, almost barely recognisable over the sounds of the gym. and there was someone singing loudly along with it. it startles sohee to hear it, especially in her own company building. she never considered that now she’s actively a sunbae there was a high chance of trainees covering their songs now for things. people know them now.
it only took a few seconds to head towards the source of the singing. the singer was a young girl, taller than she, singing her heart out to what chojin recognises as her own lines from the song. she’s impressed by the girl’s vocals. she must be a promising trainee. she stay at the opposite side of the exercise equipment, not wanting to startle her. “you sound really good!” she says happily. “are you new to trc?”
yeji considered herself lucky to be in the same company as one of her favorite idols, she was just a little sad about how she hadn’t really been able to bump into any of the k.arma members, then again she knew she was lucky to have won the mgas and gotten asked to join trc at all.
which is when she hears a voice she feels surprised for a moment-- someone heard her singing the chorus to k.armas latest song, not only did they hear her but they saw her in this oddly bent over position and yeji managed to glance up at who it was that called out to her. in that moment yeji’s eyes widened, “CHO...jin?” her voice started loud as she was startled but faded out as she wasn’t entirely sure if it was indeed the older.
quickly she stood up before she could fall over and make a fool out of herself-- to think out of everyone that heard her sing it would have to be-- k.armas main vocalist.
a dark red color tainted her cheeks-- “unn-- sunbae...” yeji couldn’t find her words which was a first for her, “thank you...” she cupped her face, not only did the female hear her but she also gave her a compliment, “i joined after the mgas last year, i won alongside three more.” her voice went smaller towards the end of the sentence as she was starstruck.

━ ꕥ starter for @yoohyeonrk
it had been planned months ago but yeji had been busy an couldn’t follow up, it was something that yeji had regretted since she had wanted to help yoohyeon dance. however she was used to trc and the practice hours now-- and she had made a reservation for a practice room in her old dance studio-- 1million and had agreed to meet the other female there on a sunday, after yeji’s practice was over.
yeji greeted everyone that recognized her from her earlier days as she made her way through the dance studio until she finally found the smaller practice room-- yeji got everything ready inside, from bottles of water to towels incase yoohyeon started to sweat.
when she was happy with the way everything looked-- she walked outside to meet her friend.

rkchaeryeong:
Chaeryeong nodded. While she was nervous, there was no use trying to hide her excitement. Who would’ve thought that she would manage to join a company so soon after trying for different auditions? It felt like a long time, but she hasn’t been trying for that long.
Her bright eyes and happy smile quickly turned pondering at the other girl’s question, though.
“Good question…” The girl turned her head left and right, but the floor plans hadn’t really been of any interest to her at all yet. “Was there a plan somewhere? I really never paid attention since we weren’t supposed to go wandering around,” she said. Additionally, her sense of orientation wasn’t outstanding either.
“How do you think our chances are?” Chaeryeong asked the elder girl. She wasn’t exactly insecure or doubted debuting at some point in the future—though she wasn’t blind enough to expect anything for the next few years—after all she had a pretty realistic view of herself and her skills, but she liked hearing the input of others.
there were so many thoughts inside her head, mostly exciting thoughts-- she was so close to her dream, even though she knew that she would not be able to debut yet... at least she was close and that closeness was enough for her right now.
yeji laughs, as both of them have the same thoughts-- they didn’t really know the trc building that well, having been restricted to one practice room during their time here.
now they had access to the entire building, or at least almost the entire builing-- it was a completely different feeling, to be employed by one of her dream companies, there was something special about it.
“our chances? having been the winners of the mgas? i think they should be good but there are trainees that have been here for longer and honestly, i think even with our status, we have a pretty good chance... both of us are great dancers after all.”
she smiled, yeji prefered to have an optimistic view on her future, that way she could always look ahead, even if things turned bad.

jinsoulrk:
she’s altogether just a little bit confused at what’s going on, shifting her weight from one foot to the other and looking at the other girl for cues on the situation. she’s unsure of what to do with her hands, suddenly too aware of everything now that she has someone in front of her. was fine not what yeji wanted to hear? should she have said that she was good instead? somehow she feels like maybe they would have run into the same problem, that the path would be the same regardless of the choices.
but it all comes together soon enough, like the last piece of a puzzle that makes the entire picture clearer, and she lets out a soft “oh” when the other girl finishes.
“you can’t blame yourself for having feelings, and i don’t think any of us would either.” she can’t pretend to fully understand what the other girl was going through, because it’s been a while since she even really liked anyone, and now the distance from the events has made her memory hazy, so she’s unsure of what she should say. “when something happens you’re obviously going to have feelings about it, and that’s okay.” jinsoul wishes she could say something more comforting, but she’s at a loss about exactly what that would be, so she treads carefully, taking the other girl’s hand. “i don’t know why anyone would dump you, but whoever it is they’re missing out.”
there was a part of her that felt incredibly guilty for laying all of this on the older, jinsoul hadn’t asked for any of this information yet because yeji was a perfectionist about her own performance. she felt she had lacked because of how clouded and confused her mind was-- “unnie,” she utters, her voice quiet as she hears what the older is saying. of course no one but her would blame herself for having what would be considered feelings-- a flaw, something she once had thought was her strength, now she viewed as a mistake.
there was honestly so many questions in her mind, that she had wanted to ask-- why did he leave without saying anything? why would he let her fall, if all he was going to do was leave her.
“i just feel bad, since i made mistakes, they were obvious-- to me at least,” she bit back her lip and let out a heavy sigh,it was honestly painful for her to talk about, to think about-- she wanted to forget but she couldn’t.
“i keep thinking about him, i don’t want to anymore.”

rksyn:
throwback to mid / late december 2018 trigger warnings: implied bullying, crying
it’s lunch time, but soyeon has absolutely no appetite for food. so much has happened in such short a time span and the absolute shock of it still has her sick to her stomach, it was like only one snap of two fingers and then suddenly her life was turned upside down– all the hard work that she put into her dream of debuting, it was all gone and she could do nothing about it. she was so close, only to be torn away from the very finish line; it broke her, it broke her to pieces.
as if that wasn’t enough, soyeon return to school, only to be picked on; as per usual. only now, they keep bringing up that of her latest failure. you’re so ugly they cancelled you, huh? it’s not like soyeon could ever disclose the true reason either. she thinks she’s alone in the bathroom, though trying her very best to keep the weeping quiet, just in case someone may barge in. but it’s hard to keep such strong feelings on the inside; whimpers, hiccups, and cries, escapes.
╌ starter for, @rkyeji、
yeji enters the bathroom towards the end of the lunch break, alone-- she thinks she’s alone in the bathroom but then she hears what sounds like crying. she turns around to the stalls-- looking at the multiple doors, wondering who it could be she starts touching each door to see which is open and which is closed until she finally arrives at the one the female is sitting in.
“hello?” she asks and knocks on it carefully, usually when people were in the bathrooms crying, did that mean that they wanted to be left alone? or wanted someone to find them? it was subjective but yeji believed people rarely wanted to be alone when they were crying. there could be many reasons why someone was sitting in the bathroom in school crying-- but to her experience people did that when they had nowhere else to go.

jinsoulrk:
“i think you’re good though! there’s a reason why you were always the main vocal parts during the mgas, and i think you did well with them.” maybe yeji had been given the main vocal part because their team had limited options, but the other girl had taken the opportunities and made them great, which is what’s important in the end. there’s something to be said for rising up to the challenge, and jinsoul thinks yeji held up the team in that way.
but in the same way that yeji is versatile and suits different things, jinsoul doesn’t know if she can do the same. during her season of the mgas, she had worked to try and show different sides of her, and tried to be the kind of idol who could do everything. but this is still not the same as everything else she’s done, and she tries to take it as a learning experience, to throw herself headfirst into a sexy concept and maybe next time it won’t be so scary.
“ah, okay i’ll trust you then. if i don’t look sexy for this evaluation it’ll be your fault.” she says it jokingly, laughing as she says it, trying to keep her mind off of the what ifs in the situation.
“of course we can do this! between you and me and everyone else, we have a great group!” she sounds more confident than she actually is, but it’s hard not to at least be a little sure when there’s so much talent in their evaluation team.
a reason why she did the main vocal parts... yeji had thought about it a lot but she knew when she sang the lines that were meant for the main vocalist, she was the only one that could fill that spot. it wasn’t that she was a great singer, she didn’t have any techniques-- even so she had taken the challenges head-on, even if she hadn’t performed her best.
after all, dancing was her specialty.
yeji smiled when jinsoul said she trusted her-- “you do look sexier than you think unnie,” she nods eagerly. yeji had done multiple sexy concepts during the mgas and she had danced sexy dances before so she was more than comfortable dancing this kind of style.
“you just have to, get used to looking at yourself-- that way it won’t be so scary,” she nods, “it’s what i did whenever i had to practice a sexy choreo.”
“i believe everyone will carry me through this.”

a starter for @rksohee
the months were passing so fast, yeji had already been in trc for five months-- she felt at home there now. it was simply how she felt and what she felt in trc was great-- and another thing she had started to appreciate was the fact that there was a gym in the building. that way she could keep in shape.
once in the gym, by the big mirror she put her airpods in and turned on her melon playlist ( because it was important to support the people by streaming their songs ), on there she had k.arma’s songs, and*roma’s songs, convex, eclipse and luxe-- but also some english songs that would mak working out easier for her.
yeji turned on the shuffle button and let her playlist go on by itself.
she started off by stretching and usually, she’d do that for at least ten minutes, she is a dancer and to her flexibility is important. for every move to be fluid and precise, halfway into her stretching k.arma’s new song, ticket, and with every fiber in her body she tries to fight the desire to dance and sing.
however the moment the chorus starts she can’t help it anymore, “ticket one way, ticket one way~” just like that she sings and when sejeong’s line comes up she sings a little louder, the last part of the chorus starts and once again she sings but this time when chojin’s lines start she also goes for the belting of the last note. her singing was also featured by some silly facial expressions and stretches that would go to the music.

rkmason:
“my oh my, our yeji is as confident as ever. what a relief. i’m glad the trainee lifestyle hasn’t bogged you down,” he says with a laugh, shaking his head. “it’s been a while since i saw you. did you get taller? skinnier? ahh, is the food no good here? have you snuck in bbq yet?” minho teases, amused by the memory of all the food and snacks they brought in, even the snacks their coaches gave them. the mgas might’ve been a stressful time but the good memories make it worth it, about as much as performing in some ways. they’d all worked hard as a team, it’s weird to be back in trc without that.
her attempts to see the crown make him laugh but he couldn’t possibly decrown her either. it’s not becoming of royalty to not wear one and it’s not appropriate of a court jester to take it back. at some point, he might tire of all the royalty jokes but he doubts it for now.
“yeah? i’ll try to go by and see her too then.” her words make his grin grow wider and he resists the urge to ruffle her hair, especially with a crown on. “i’m happy to see the both of you. how’s it been so far? anyone giving you guys a hard time?”
“if i wasn’t confident, i would have crumbled a long time ago--” she remembered the negative comments she had gotten during the mgas, if she wasn’t who she was-- then she would not be where she was today, “the trainee lifestyle feels rather lax-- it was more stressful during the mgas but don’t tell anyone i said that!” she chuckles softly when he begins his interrogation she smiles fondly at the older male, “the food here is fine, i don’t think i’ve lost any weight-- it’s just been a while!”
yeji tips her head slightly and touches the crown he had placed on her head, “i haven’t snuck in any bbq yet-- but the food here is pretty good oppa, so i don’t think i’ll have to do that any time soon.”
“i’m happy you finally made it here oppa, i’m sure chaeryeong will be beyond happy as well--” she nods, “so far everyone here is pretty nice, i don’t think i’ve offended anyone! when did you sign your contract though? have you gotten used to the building yet?”

jinsoulrk:
[ . . . ]
jinsoul smiles when yeji says she suits it, because for the first time in a long time, she felt like she was in her element. it was something that was more or less in her comfort zone, and didn’t push her so hard like the past evaluations had. there was something noble and novel about trying new things and fitting new concepts, but it was nice to do something that was easier for once.
she takes a sip of her water, still smiling as she looks at the other girl. “you think so? am i like a fairy?” jinsoul laughs lightheartedly and puts her bottle down. “i think my parts are okay? i got the main vocal’s centers.” not that they’re singing, but she’s still happy with the outcome. it gives her a glimpse of what it might be like if all of them were to debut together. “what about you? do you like your parts?”
there was something calming about practicing for this months evaluation, it was mostly focused on her dancing and ability to perform. she didn’t have to sing but she had been in trc for almost half a year at this point and honestly, this wasn’t nearly challenging enough-- considering how much she had pushed herself for the mgas.
“yes, unnie you kinda look like a fairy when you perform,” yeji smiled widely at the female, when she asks her if she did ok. yeji was somewhat intrigued after all, jinsoul had been a trainee fo longer and had more experience-- this felt almost like they were equal and yeji appreciate it. “unnie, i think you are doing great in your parts,” she nods her head eagerly.
“i think i got the main dancer centers?”
yeji through about the choreo, nodding to herself-- “i am not sure if i suit this concept but i like the dance and the song is cute.”
— do you remember?
