“You’re going to run away?”
“No way! Just because it’s big doesn’t mean I’m afraid of it! I’m a Grim angel after all!” He shouted, strange glowing sword drawn and at the ready.
Still he had to admit, she was awfully calm too. Even when thinking he would flee, she still remained level headed. How many creatures like this had she fought? How many stories could she tell? If only Rose were here to write them down.
“Do you have a plan?”

snowfallcn:
“Usually if something is deemed impossible, it is unable to be replicated after you have done it once,” she once again turns away to stare out at the lake again. She knows the frost that was forming is her subconscious doing; she prefers things frozen. So much, in fact, she is even standing in the snow with her bare feet exposed. “You were not disturbing me. I was just out for a walk, and happened to notice your… unnecessary rock throwing.” She doesn’t return the bowing motion, too busy being focused on the lake. Watching it freeze over; finding a beauty in how it slowly crystallizes and forms. She sees a few animals pop up from the water, and for a moment, there is a faint smile on her face. “Do be careful where you throw them, next time.”
“Yeah you’re probably right. I mean how many times am I really going to need to kill a skeleton by skipping a stone 50 times across a lake?” Ein said before a small chuckle escaped his lips.
It was around then that he noticed his breath hang in the air. Frost was crawling out from the woman’s feet. Perhaps he had angered her more than she let on. Maybe this lake was sacred. He didn’t really know but he did know that he didn’t want to be frozen solid.
“If there’s anything I can do to make it up to you let me know,” he said in the most cheerful voice he could muster.

snowfallcn:
Her arms cross behind her back as she watches him. Though she is not angry– at least, outwardly– she does not wish to be held responsible if he decides to harm himself. Mortals were confusing creatures; she never found them fanciful, though curiosity would pique every so often and she would come into their societies, completely undetected, to see what they have managed to create (or destroy). “May I ask why you were throwing them in the lake?” Her tone is calm, but a slight hint of arrogance as her chilling gaze turns away to look out at the lake. She stares at the body of water for a moment, taking in the frost that has started to cover up the motionless water at the edges. Was that perhaps her own doing? Maybe. “After all, that is not very nice to the fish.” She diverts the attention from herself. It makes it easier to pick them a part, after all.
“I was trying to skip them... One time I did something completely impossible and I’ve been trying to see if I could do it again ever since...” He said quietly. A chill had rolled over the area since her arrival, but cold weather never bothered him. At least not since his brief stay in Hell.
With a sigh, he knelt down and put the rocks in a pile by his feet before rising up to face her once again. “I don’t even notice when I start anymore, my mind just kind of wanders and then suddenly I’m skipping rocks...” It really did happen almost automatically any time he got near a body of water. It was rather worrying in a sense, but it passed the time and let him relax so he’d never tried to stop.
“A Grim Angel that skips rocks all day... Rose would never let me hear the end of it. I’ll move on if I’m disturbing you. I’m really sorry about all this!” He said, bowing apologetically.

“I do not see how this is helping anyone.”
Ein turned to face the voice that had called him out. He clutched the small hoard of rocks he’d collected to his chest as he tried to collect words to defend himself with.
“I- Th- Well- Look, you never know when you’re going to need a good rock or seven on your adventure! I’ve used rocks to get me out of tons of situations!” He finally yelled out, embarrassed by his own habits.
It wasn’t like he was lying. He’d managed to take out enemies from far away, knock high up treasures free, disturb bats, all critical to advancing his quest to save the world.
Except that one time he skipped a rock 50 times across an entire lake to kill a skeleton. He wasn’t exactly sure how he’d done that and it was a feat he’d been unable to replicate since.
“I’m sorry, I’ll put them back.”

Midgard? Wasn’t that the world the humans lived in? Had the portal taken him to a world related to his own? That wasn’t entirely impossible but it still managed to surprise him somewhat.
“It’s nice to meet you too Mikhail,” Ein finally relaxed, giving the dragon a small smile as he spoke.
For a City the surroundings seemed fairly ruined, perhaps it was just the remains of a once great civilization like Tetyth was. Ein wondered briefly what these people had done to anger the gods to earn this level of destruction.
“So. Uh...” He wasn’t entirely sure what to say to the dragon, “Do you live in this city or...”
Ein, Ein and Riveria! It’s nice to meet you!
He could only hope to remember so many names, but seeing that he spent each day in leisure, it shouldn’t be that much to do.
This world? Well, it’s uh…… Mid… Midget? No, no, Midgard? Yeah, Midgard! We’re in the Cathedral City right now, but there’s also the Land of Sands, the Land of Seas, the Land of Forests……oh, and also the Land of the Mountains!
The dragon nodded, brightening at the fact he could recall Decadus and Octa talking about the land and its name. He really did miss them though… maybe he could try and find them? They weren’t dead, after all. Just turned ( back ? ) into birds. Maybe with a spell they could return to the human form.

“Wouldn’t it be cool to name a star after yourself?”
“Huh...” Ein said letting the thought roll around in his mind for a bit before deciding on an answer.
“I’ve never really thought of naming the stars. They’ve been around way longer than I have after all. Is it really fair to name something like that after yourself?”
The stars were also something the gods had created. As a Grim Angel, Ein was simply too low on the hierarchy to even consider claiming something like that. Then again, he did have several weapons forged for gods with him...
“I guess it would be pretty neat though.” He said finally.

The excitement immediately caught him off guard. As did the dragon’s introduction. Normally Ein would have received a breath weapon to the face by now.
Slowly, cautiously, he forced his hand away from his weapon and let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding.
“Um. Yes. I- I’m Ein.” He said tentatively, “I’m uh. I’m from a world called Riviera.” Slowly he was finding himself. The dragon seemed friendly at least. Maybe it was an exception to the rule?
“If you don’t mind my asking. What is this world?”
A voice roused him from his aimless napping, and with some effort, he lifted his head, eyes blinking sleepily before distinguishing the shape of a human. He didn’t smell like he was from the dusty abandoned ancient city surrounding the both of them. Did he come through the portal?
Huuuuh? Who… Oh!
With a jolt, he was wide awake, excitement overwhelming his laziness in an instant. He may have jumped from world to world with vigor, but ooooh, would it ever be fun to see strangers in his world ( though there was nothing quite attractive about it )!
Hey! Are you from another world? I’m Mikhail!
He completely ignored the other’s hand on his weapon as he rattled on- after all, everyone was a little scared of a dragon! he couldn’t blame them; and even if he did want to make friends, a dragon has to look his part! All he has to do is reassure them, after all, that’s why he was born with a voice, right?

@dxrknocturne
Ein was hunting. They’d received word that a large group of demons had begun making their way to Elendia. No doubt they had sensed the disturbance that had occurred and were hoping to find something they could use on the other side of that portal.
And so he stood alone, simply waiting for their arrival. He wore no fear for he had fought much worse before. This sort of thing would be challenging for him alone, but he was a Grim Angel. No demon had ever managed to best him before and that would not change. With Hector and the Accursed gone, the demons seemed weaker somehow, as though they were being supplied power by those five beings in an effort to stop Ein’s advance.
It had only sharpened his abilities further. Which was why it was so easy for him to notice that he wasn’t alone.
He wondered if they were a friend or a foe. They certainly felt strange. Maybe someone had come through the portal?
“Hey. I just want you to know that there’s going to be a hoard of demons coming through here soon. You should probably head to safe ground,” He called out to the figure he could not see but knew was there.

Ein stood watch near the portal that had suddenly opened up near the outskirts of Elendia. After an exploratory mission inside they’d discovered a multitude of portals connected to some kind of strange central hub. Eventually Ein would venture through to the other lands now connected to his home, but for now it was best to wait and see what might come through.
Exploration would commence after it was deemed safe for Ein to leave his post, so for now he waited.
Unfortunately all this waiting was really boring.
“I hope something comes through soon so we can know where we stand on this thing...”

It had been a long day. That portal had that had appeared near Elendia had caused quite a stir. Ein had of course been asked to check things out to make sure nothing would come through. Imagine the young boy’s surprise with what he found on the other side. A hub linking to hundreds of worlds.
A large dragon resting on the other side of the first portal he picked reminded him that his luck had not improved since his travels across Riviera itself.
His first reaction was a startled gasp. His hand unconsciously went to his weapon as he took a more defensive stance. He’d never met a dragon that had not immediately tried to kill him and thus was taking measures.
Although it seemed to be sleeping. Slaughtering sleeping opponents was more Serene’s department. Since he was alone, Ein opted for a different strategy.
“Um. Hello?”
@rivieraein
Nothing caught his attention quite like the portal nowadays. It was the light in a dead city, and he often lingered about on the days when he didn’t go through to someone else’s world ( which was rare for the curious child ). He anticipated showing someone his own world. Maybe there weren’t that many people, but it was always a treat to fly across the country in a few hours, or to try and hunt the giant sea creatures!
But today, it felt especially slow to wait for some form of entertainment. And so he rested his head on his wings, drifting in and out of his nap.
Hmmm….
