the wolves of kaer morhen had been proud warriors, only to be chased and beaten from their home by the wickedly ruthless felines of the south.

the cats were notorious assassins, ruthless and merciless - they had slaughtered the wolves, with only a handful surviving the attack. they had tried to hide out in the ruins of kaer morhen, licking their wounds and burning their dead, but then winter came which threatened to wipe them out.

so, vesemir gathered up his suffering pups and led them to the nearest kingdom - lettenhove. the king had welcomed them warmly, eager to have these warriors join his army as fodder, to pad out his soldiers and make them look fierce.

but,

then bratty prince julian wanders in during the negotiations and takes one look at these weary, broken men. there’s a tiny beat of silence as the wolves slowly register the sight of this young man - he’s dressed in silks, in mesh, with glittering jewellery decorating his body. his neck drips with gems, his ears sparkle brightly with piercings, his arms and legs tinkle with bangles and anklets, his fingers are covered in rings. his eyes are rimmed with kohl, his lips are dark with paint… bratty prince julian looks simply divine and his scent is spicy-sweet, like lemon cakes baked with cinnamon.

the bratty prince then snaps his fingers and demands that these poor creatures be released under his care - his father opens his mouth to argue, but then julian sighs and laments, “oh father - i suppose i could let you keep them, just like i could let you keep your secret wife hidden!”

and well, no further arguments are made and julian gets what he wants.

the wolves are instantly smitten.

but, vesemir doesn’t trust him for a second.

I need Yen and Jaskier to become best friends after the moutain so badly.

That way, while Geralt is still feeling terribly guilty about the whole thing but also scared to put Jaskier in danger now that he has to protect Ciri, Jaskier can go around the continent spying on their enemys and coordinate/plot the whole thing with Yennefer behind the scenes.

Yen trusting Jaskier's skills and having faith that he gets the job done. And accepting his decision to put himself in danger even though she's pissed at Geralt on his behalf.

Both of them getting drunk and pining after Geralt.

Yen ending up laughing at "Her Sweet Kiss" and Jaskier not being able to sing the song with a straight face anymore.

Enemies to friends who still act like enemies.

Going on a sidequest together to find out why the hell Jaskier just doesn't age.

All the sass and bitching.

Jaskier being there for Yen without wanting anything else in return. Just enjoying and loving her company.

Jaskier writing songs about her and their friendship.

Both of them finding out about their shared interest in petty revenge and having fun getting said petty revenge.

Yen feeling save enough to open up to Jaskier.

Maybe murdering Valdo Marx together or at least Yen helping Jaskier hide the body.

Agreeing one night to just share Geralt in the future even though Jaskier still thinks his love is one sided.

J: Shareing? Really? I thought you wanted everything for yourself.

Y: Everything includes you too. Unfortunately.

J: Do I get any say in this?

Y: No.

Yen helping and hanging out with Geralt and Ciri while Jaskier is off on another spying mission and still constantly keeping in touch with him through magic instant messaging.

Complaining about how Geralt how he should just go and find Jaskier and apologize so he'd stop moping around already.

That one time when Yen has to describe a specific kind of HMM to Jaskier so he can interpret it for her.

Yen getting worried when she doesn't hear from Jaskier in too long but she also promised him not to tell Geralt what he's up to and not to interfer even if he's in danger.

Geralt finding out Jaskier is in trouble before Yen can tell him and asking pleading for Yen's help again even though he knows she and Jaskier dont get on.

Yen agreeing suspiciously fast.

Yen and Geralt on the scene and ready to bust Jaskier out of whatever trouble he's in but Jaskier already saved himself and is hurt but fine and just a little bit irritated Yen came to rescue him.

Yen forgetting herself and Geralt and hugging Jaskier who hugs her back. Both relieved and happy and teasing each other.

Geralt standing unnoticed and forgotten in the corner being very very very confused.

Anyway. Friendship.

Also there is that whole thing that started the friendship right after the mountain in which Yen got her magic stolen/blocked and by chance ended up on the same path as Jaskier which surprise surprise was full of monsters and dangers that forced them to work together and thus they accidentally stumbled into a friendship.
