Listening to sulk by radiohead for the first time, and yes I do know about the underlying influence of the song and no it's not at all what im discussing, but the line in particular 'you look so pretty when you're on your knees, disinfected and eager to please' caught my attention so abruptly. the whole song is done in such a melancholic tone and these lines place me in a moment where I can't tell if I'm the narrator or the subject, and I don't know why or how I understand those feelings burning away inside of me, let alone if I know which one I want to be anyways.

people in online forums do tend to mention how the song is sexual and all, but especially coming right after black star (my favorite track), the only thing I can truly take away is that these songs are made for expressing that sort of human irregularity. the human experience is different for everyone, but it’s almost as if you can apply these lyrics to every emotionally turbulent individual in a 500,000 mile radius.

How else to express the enormity and abnormality of all the emotions we can feel than to sulk and burn and stand around and pass out.
