Monkey's Paw Retellings + The Beatles

George: The original short story from 1902. In it, W.W. Jacobs illustrates how all desire, no matter how justified, is corrosive to the human spirit. To want something is to lose it. Peace only comes when you accept the fundamental incompleteness of life and divest yourself of all desire.
John and Paul: Their favorite would be the 1965 Alfred Hitchcock Hour retelling. Hitchcock tells us it's possible to get every single thing you want in life, but not in a way you can stomach. To want something is to get it is to hate it, and by the same token to love is to want is to hate. But they definitely don't relate to that. No no no no no. It's just a fun story. Fuck off.

Ringo: The 1991 Simpsons retelling. Because he, too, would wish for a turkey sandwich, and you know fucking why.

Paul says: "We had a great time down there. We played at one of the hotels … and we'd look down on the beach where the fans would write 'I love John' in the sand, so big we could read it from our rooms."
And then we see this:
One of the favourite moment ever

In a late wee-hour-of-the-morning talk, he once told me, ‘I’m just like everybody else Harry, I fell for Paul’s looks.” – Harry Nilsson speaking about John Lennon
John owned these two photgraphs of Paul, which he then sold when he moved to the US.

John: [about his haircut] I've had it on and off for five years. Paul: Yeah. You should've seen it off.
