The whole “Ruin” is about having a family and giving birth to children for me.
(Further comes IMHO, don’t rage.)
“Chords” is the most obvious one here, the most literal.
But “Ruin” has it, too.
Nothing quite prepares you for When they don’t come back
Here the grown children from “Chords” leave parents behind.
In the wreck of all we burnt Stands our piano like a wound I play our song To see if it’s in tune /And I'll sing silence
For a long time the parents are alone, then they try again. But nothing happens.
Nothing quite prepared me for When that piano sang again
But in the end they find out that they’re having a baby.
Tomorrow I’ll do things different Tomorrow I’ll be brave You’ll make me brave
And this child is a new hope for them, a new tomorrow.
Then, in the very end of the story, we see the grown children again. “Inkpots Gods” is very similar to the first song, like the children are similar to their parents. The story continues, life continues, our children are having children.
It starts with rain and laughter as a refrain to the personal stories told in “The Calling” and “The Old Witch Sleep and the Good Man Grace”. Then comes silence and trees from the duets “Drinking Song for the Socially Anxious” and “Secret Worlds”. And I believe the gods in this song are the Horror and the Wild from the previous album. Remember, “We were gods”? Those gods are parents now. They compare their children to songs they wrote (in “Chords”). And now those children stand up tall.
I will be the man my father never was
Cos I’m more than what my mum told me to be
The stories intertwine, and part, and blend. The end of the last song tells me that life continues, because I see a woman ready to give birth to a child here:
And he doesn’t understand And I wish that I could take his hand But where I’m going is for me and me alone
If I don’t make it back from where I’ve gone Just know I loved you all along
If you have children you’ll know what I mean.
...
I know that all this exists only in my head, but I felt like sharing it with you, whoever you are.
So, the last thought. The most selfish one.
I think they want to have a child. Or plan to. Or even waiting for it already.
If I’m wrong, I’m wrong. Happiness is different for different people, obviously. And feel free to tell that I’m too conservative for this world. I’m 33 after all, and most of you are barely 20. But as someone who wants them to be happy, and as someone of the same age and being in the relationship for years as well, I just feel like it.

I made this photo in September. Now there's nothing, just an empty ground. Naked field.
I walk past this place every afternoon. Today, after "Ruin", it made me choke on my breath.
instagram
Something will appear where the ruins stood. The naked field will give birth to new life.

I was coping rather well untill the reference to "Love run" fell down on me.
I don't know how to speak about the things I feel. Yet. But I thank all the gods of all the worlds for this music and its creators.

It's good that "Ruin" will ruin us on weekend. I wouldn't be able to function normally through the day if it was Monday or any other weekday. Because I'm pretty sure they will release "Ruin" about 23:58, you know. 😅

When I found out that TAD existed, I was the 23th on Yandex.Music who listened to them. Almost 2 years later there are still so few of us, less than 1000.
I'm from Belarus. Yandex is used widely in Russia and other Eastern European countries. So, millions of people. And yet, less than 1000 likes.
Spotify-and-other users, tell me there are a lot of us around the world! Please. 😅
If you're interested, I think I know the reason. Here in Eastern Europe we've known "The Witcher" since 90-s. I watched the Polish show on TV in 2001 when I was 13. And we love this story as we know it: from the books, the games and the old show. And when Netflix released their version, few people liked it. And by few I mean almost nobody. So, almost nobody cared to google any info about the actors. So, almost nobody discovered TAD.
That's sad. But it also makes me feel special. It's an honour to know and love these beautiful people. 💛

Are we going to discuss the fact that there is a THISTLE pattern on Jaskier's vest?
The chemise is adorned with flowers as well, but I can't make out which ones. Anyway.
Thistle, guys. Like. Oh...
I realize that this means literally nothing, but I saw it and just... 😐

So, for me the algorithm is:
1. Watch the new videos from The Witcher on Instagram.
2. Wait a couple of hours so you could make all those wonderful pics and gifs with Jaskier.
3. Go to Tumblr to see all those wonderful pics and gifs with Jaskier you've made.
Therefore, thank you, guys. 💛

You are all so fucking spoiled, I swear. Back in my days all we, Eastern European fans, got was a Jaskier that looked like a guy. Like, literally just some dude. The epitome of the Eastern European man. You can go to any town in Poland and meet twenty guys looking exactly like that in the street. He looked like a medieval Homer Simpson in a Robin Hood hat and we LIKED HIM. Do you hear me, Jessica? WE WERE GRATEFUL FOR HIM!
And you spoiled brats are bitching that your gorgeous actor doesn't have his hair cut to your liking? That your insanely handsome and ridiculously charismatic bard wears a hat for 3 seconds??

I could watch an entire film composed of nothing but close ups of Joey Batey’s fidgeting hands.
That is all.

Ok, I've watched the second chapter of The Witcher's Bestiary. They showed Jaskier while saying the word "creature". TWICE. Plus that post on Twitter where they say that the bard is not the only one "interesting creature" on the Continent. So...
Am I overthinking it? Probably, yes.
Do I hope it to be true? Also, yes.
