The Knight Errant by Burgmuller for piano

So this is a song that I did for my Grade 5 piano exam and my JC music practical. I just rediscovered it because I’ve been so bored because of lockdown and dug up all my old sheet music (but in this case “old” just means it’s from last year). It was one of those songs that you practice so much every day for so long that you hate it, but then as soon as exams are finished you fall in love with it

It’s in the key of C so no sharps or flats and it’s in common time, but your hands are moving up and down the keys almost constantly and it took me a while to get the hang of really moving with it

The last two lines are fast scale passages and in my experience the more nervous and shaky you are the better these sound (adrenaline can do that to ya)

This is the first piece of classical music that I’ve put on here and I know a lot of people probably won’t know this piece, but I hope ye take a look at it at least and enjoy!

 - Chords: G, D, Em, C, Am, Cadd9 - No barre chords (personally I hate barre chords unless I’m doing them on higher frets) - The hardest chord is probably Cadd9 which isn’t even a hard chord - I forgot to put it in the document but I usually use the capo on fret 2/3 - This is a really good song for beginners - 3 pages

 - This was a request from @ryulis (hope you like it)  - Key of G major  - Originally key of F major but I transposed it to make it playable for tin whistle  - 1 page  - Mostly just ties and quavers at the start but as you go on there are some semi-quavers   - 6 over 8 time signature  - I’ve never actually played this game but the music is pretty cool

‘Old Irish Washerwoman’ for solo tin whistle

 - This song is trad Irish so there’s no known composer  - It’s also a jig so it’s played quite fast  - Another feature of traditional Irish music is ornamentation so feel free to put your own spin on this  - If you need the tin whistle finger positions just let me know  - I love this song   - I remember playing it in primary school when I was like 9 or something  - Key of F major (be careful with this because most tin whistles are in the key of D so just make sure you’re playing sharps and naturals in the right places)  - 6 over 8 time signature

 - This looks more difficult than it is  - It’s mostly octaves with an extra note thrown in so if you can do that you’ll be fine  - F major  - Common time signature (4 over 4)  - I know this song has been out for ages but I am still in love with it  - 5 pages (yikes I know)

Introduction

Hey!

This is my new blog and on it I’m going to be posting sheet music, tabs, and chords for instruments that I play. I play the piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, concertina, tin whistle, recorder, ukulele, and trumpet. 

If you’re like me and you absolutely hate paying for sheet music, then this is the blog for you!!

I’ll be posting the chords/tabs/sheets for the songs I like, but feel free to send me an ask or a message requesting a song and an instrument.

If you play an instrument that I haven’t listed above and you want to request a song for it, you can still request and I’ll do my best to make you a good version of that song.

If you do use the music feel free to send me a video or an audio recording of you playing it. You can send it to me directly and I’ll also be tracking #rilmusic

In your asks, you can request a song, key, instrument, whether its sheet music, tab, or chords, and clef. Also, if there are any elements that you find difficult to play (such as trills, crush notes, barre chords, etc.) just let me know and I’ll try not to include them in the final score.
