benjamincampbell:
There’s a chilling feeling that drags its claws down Benjamin’s spine, the nails leaving scratches into his pale skin. Finally, his eyes shoot open, the zombie laying on top of him, trying to get to him so it can rip his flesh apart. His back laid against the forest floors, shirt lifted by the hem and a fistful of twigs scraping along his bare skin. Benjamin lets out a muffled scream, something that’s caught between a cry and a plea for help. Tears slowly rush down his cheeks, the cold night’s air hitting his skin and sending him into a bit of a shock. But still, he fights for his life, arms flailing in the air as feeble attempts to keep the infected from biting him. “HELP!” The word is now clear and raw, his voice filled with cracks.
It was the desperate plea that Riley heard first and had him running at full speed through the trees, as branches scraped at his cheek. The possibility of it being a trap never crossed his mind even though this was one of the things he warned his camp members about before they left the safety of his wall, all he knew was that type of fear he had only ever heard once before. Flashbacks of the last day he ever saw his baby sister crossed his mind and her cries and pleas for help, only pushing him faster towards the direction it came from. Finally arriving he paused slightly to try and come up with a plan, though seeing no other option he pulled out his knife and tackled the undead creature off the young boy as he plunged the knife into it’s skull.

She crossed her arms over her chest as she looked at him, “Just let me clean it at least…” she asked, as he’d shot down her question about how he’d managed to get himself hurt.
“If you really insist but honestly, it’s nothing.” He let out a sigh and took a seat to try and make it easier for her.

“First off, I’m not getting shot in the back for you, so you better have a gun. Second, wasn’t our arrangement that I’d do repairs at the Suites if you did not get me shot at”
"Do you really think I'd walk around unarmed? Who would be that stupid... wait, hold on, you have a gun too right?" He asked apprehensive of the answer. "Relax, you're not going to get shot... unless you keep complaining, then I might be tempted to shoot you."

louise-underwood:
Louise j o l t e d awake suddenly as she heard a noise, her eyelashes faintly batting against her lids as she blinked. Her hand reached for her gun, which was no longer by the pillow where she left it. She looked around the room, trying to remember where she was. A vague recollection of finding an abandon house, came to her mind. The brunette groaned, her muscles feeling WEAK, just like her energy. Just as she was about to set her head back down on her pillow she heard another noise. “Who’S there?” She called out, eyes searching the room.
Riley had been searching for his cousin since the storm, wanting to make sure that she was safe and at least in reasonable health. It hadn’t exactly been difficult, he’d always been good with tracking especially since his time as a hunter back in the Airport. Coming across the abandoned house he checked his surroundings to make sure no one was following him, he pushed open the door quietly and eased his knife out of its sheath just encase there were any nasty little surprises waiting inside. Clearing each room, he eventually made it to the desired part of the house he was looking for and a sigh of relief left him at the sight of the brunette. “Hey, hey, hey. It’s okay. You’re safe, it’s only me.” He soothed walking over to her, until he was bent down in front of her checking her over and running a hand over her hair gently. “Shh, rest for a while.”

❛ too much. ❜ coming from someone who used to work out religiously. but with the apocalypse situation and all, running seemed enough to keep her in shape. anything too rigorous and she thinks she’d burn off too much and have nothing to replace it all with. ❛ you do you though, i’m just a passerby. ❜ and with that, huan is walking towards the door. there’s no need for her to waste time in this room, not if there’s no easily sqipeable supplies. plenty more places to look in the building, and probably people she knows well enough to make suckers out of.
"What makes you say that?" He asked wondering what she meant by too much. He did a few more before getting up, wiping his brow on his shirt before shoving it back on. Riley couldn’t help but be curious by her introduction and the vagueness of her words. “Hold on, there had to have been something you wanted? Not many people know to come through here...”

He looked back towards her, listening to her words and nodding along with her argument knowing that she had a point. He didn’t know what had gone on between them but with all the craziness going on, it didn’t matter, “She’s right so if you don’t like it then you’re perfectly welcome to go off on your own.” He spat towards the idiot who was really beginning to annoy him. “Are you okay?” He questioned, switching his attention to the brunette with a concerned look.
“He’s right,” Marissa said, stepping in. “Nothing positive is going to happen with us arguing. We gotta stick together and figure things out peacefully.” She knew people were scared, especially after the dead bodies were found. But, Marissa knew her father would figure everything out, they just needed to remain calm and stay safe.

“You seriously need to take a step back and get out my face.” Riley had been watching the pair for a few minutes seeing the argument heating up before he made his move to intervene. It was at that point that the other began squaring up to him as if to try and intimidate the blonde. “I’m pretty sure they told you to back off, so how about you try listening?”
#hst:horrorhigh#idk maybe your character is another observer or one of the couple#so you can either be the one squaring up to him or the one he is defending or could up backing him up

Riley looked up at the girl from his cup, the same one that he had been previously scowling at only minutes before. Giving it a final sniff which only caused his nose to scrunch in distaste, he placed it on the bench next to him refusing to drink anymore of it. “It certainly smells that way. I wouldn’t recommend drinking it though, it tastes disgusting so I have no clue what they spiked it with.”
Olivia pulled on her dress for the tenth time in the past five minutes. She was excited and incredibly nervous as everyone could probably tell all because she was waiting for her secret admirer. “Do you happen to know if the punch is spiked yet? I’m defiantly gonna need it soon…”

Riley had been stood at the punch table for a while, simply observing the goings on of each of the students. It was one of the things that he did best, watching. It was the red head that caught his attention as she wandered over, not one hundred percent sure on who she was suppose to be dressed as. Voicing his curiosity he attempted to call out over the music hoping that she’d hear him, though at her answer she obviously did. Raising an eyebrow he couldn’t help but smile. “Creative. Any particular reason why?” He quizzed. “Me? Oh I’m the highway robber.”
┅ ┆ ► Charming surveyed the crowds - the music blasting heavy bass and the costumes all around her providing a true Halloween atmosphere. She let out a half snort of laughter as she saw some dressed as the killer from Cry Wolf, orange ski mask and all. She took a drink from the cup that was NOT just punch and grinned; sometimes she fucking loved the kids here. She turned her head at the query, hearing it over the music in her ears; “Mary Boleyn,” she responded, “historical whore of King Henry,” she laughed. “And what are you?”

Riley didn’t have the conventional childhood where you are raised by your parents; instead the first part of his life he and his younger sister were raised by their older brother Spencer, until he went off to college where they then went on to live and be raised by his aunt and uncle due to the fact that his parents were considered to be unfit to care for him. However living with his aunt and uncle meant that he also had to share a house with his cousins, being the oldest he has grown to see them more as his siblings and became more of an older brother figure to them, giving him a protective personality.
During the early years of Riley’s life, the young boy was a happy individual, always with a smile on his face and never complaining about anything, or anything more trivial than the basic children complaints due to the fact that Spencer ensured that he had a childhood that was as normal as possible and that he never went without. With an older brother, he has a lot to live up to, though his brother did then grow to become an idol for the young man, someone Riley felt he needed to do better than, in both academics and sporting activities, which his brother was a legend in his school for, that combined with the fact that he wants to make his Aunt and Uncle proud considering everything they do for him and his siblings. This means that Riley goes out of his way to make sure that everything he takes part in, he is successful. When it comes to his education and school he keeps his head down and stays out of trouble.

Riley doesn’t have a tragic past; well at least he doesn’t think so. He grew up with a loving family and got all the opportunities in life. However Riley didn’t have the conventional childhood where you are raised by your parents; instead the first part of his life he and his younger sister were raised by their older brother Spencer, until he went off to college where they then went on to live and be raised by his aunt and uncle due to the fact that his parents were considered to be unfit to care for him. However living with his aunt and uncle meant that he also had to share a house with his cousins, being the oldest he actually grew to see them more as his siblings and became more of an older brother figure to them, giving him a protective personality.
During the early years of Riley’s life, the young boy was a happy individual, always with a smile on his face and never complaining about anything, or anything more trivial than the basic children complaints due to the fact that Spencer ensured that he had a childhood that was as normal as possible and that he never went without. With an older brother, he had a lot to live up to, though his brother did then grow to become an idol for the young man, someone Riley felt he needed to do better than, in both academics and sporting activities, which his brother was a legend in his old school for, that combined with the fact that he wanted to make his Aunt and Uncle proud considering everything they’d done for him and his siblings. This meant that Riley went out of his way to make sure that everything he took part in he was successful and that he did well in school, keeping his head down and staying out of trouble. Although because he was from a small town that meant that of course everyone knew about everyone else’s business so that meant the odd few rumors or insults were sent around the school, yet even then the young boy was simply able to brush them off and not take much notice, however if there was ever anything said about his family that was the one trigger that could set off his temper.
L I F E D U R I N G T H E O U T B R E A K:
Things had begun to change slowly at first. Fellow workers had started calling in sick. Never to be Riley had no idea about the outbreak, at least until his youngest cousin became infected and he ended up watching the drastic change right in front of his eyes. It was at that moment that he had to make a choice, freeze and watch as Angie attacked and kill him and the rest of the family or be the one to actually take action even if it meant everyone hating him. As he watched the thing that was no longer his innocent baby cousin take a step towards his seven year old sister that the ultimate decision was made for him, taking his Uncle’s shot gun and putting a bullet through her brain. Not being able to accept his actions no matter how much the rest of them knew it had to be done, Riley was kicked out onto the street much to his Aunt’s argument.
L I F E A F T E R T H E O U T B R E A K:
Once he made that decision to essentially take a life, albeit an un-dead life, due to it being someone he loved and cared about, Riley found it easier to from that moment on. He learnt that he actually had a knack for it and began hunting them down in attempt to take out as many as possible hoping that it would help to keep anymore getting near his family. He traveled around the world taking down more as he went, until he came to Cheyenne where he joined the Springhill Suites camp and became their leader. He was still that sweet caring guy but only slightly more ruthless.
